Raoul had to pause to lock the office door-- and then again to lock the main doors of the theatre behind them-- as he led her out to the waiting white Lexus. As they exited the building, he flipped his hat onto his head, and retrieved Christine's hand. It seemed silly, even to Raoul, but they used to always hold hands as children and there was nothing that made him feel more at home than his hand in hers.
After holding the car door open for her to enter the spacious back seat then getting in himself, Raoul told his driver the name of the restaurant then settled back beside his dear Christine.
"You mentioned you were in a small theatre production? You must tell me all about it, so I may get tickets to come see you."
