By the time the girls had, had their fun with the waterboarding, Michiru felt such an overwhelming rise of fear that her mind didn't know how to comprehend it. She knew in the back of her mind that she needed to keep strong, that she needed to be the woman Haruka always told her she was. The woman that could do anything so long as... She'd say so long as they were together, but they weren't. It was hell.
She couldn't feel her beloved, couldn't sense the warmth that Haruka brought over her soul and being by just being alive. Their link served so well for them both that she'd grown so used to just having it there at all times. It was the thing that made her realise that things were still fine in the world. But now, it was gone and she didn't know what to do.
When the two women returned to her and inject the needle inside again she felt a stronger rush and her body went limp. She didn't feel herself be pushed inside a black and pink sleeping bag, didn't feel the starting of the car or the traveling to another location further outside the town. In a denser area where the woman was less likely to be found.
What she did see was a field, a green pasture and Haruka standing there with outstretched arms. There was a blanket, with a basket and a bottle of wine to keep the wind from blowing. She could almost feel the warmth of the sunlight hitting her features, could almost feel the upkeep of the wind in her hair as it traveled over the glade.
She tried to speak, calling out in joy for her beloved and took several steps closer. As she came close enough for her to enter the embrace of the woman she loved, the separation became wider and all she saw was the depths of a fall. She got to her knees and reached out for Haruka who simply whispered her name to her, telling her to come for her.
Beginning to cry she reached even further until she slipped and fell into the darkness, only to be woken by the slam of a brick to the side of her head She bellowed out in pain, screaming that was quickly cut off by a slap to the face and the woman standing above her with the same bat as before In the depths of her psyche she felt a breaking, a collapsing of her willpower. She looked up at the woman before tipping her head down to cry silently
There was no use, at all times her hands were bound and she couldn't transform, the chemical in her system making it difficult to stay awake let alone channel her strength and power to resist or fight back. Muffled words filled her ears as the strike to her head had clouded her senses. She felt another slam of the bat to her shin, hearing a similarly loud crack as the one to her femur.
Michiru looked up to them with hollow eyes as they told her how terrible she was, that she was abusing Haruka and keeping her from her true potential. She nodded and ducked her head down tears dripping onto the dirt flooring.
She didn't flinch when the first woman kicked her in the stomach, didn't react when there was water poured over her to make cold and sticky mud in the dirty floor of the barn. She had never felt so low. When the woman had left her to freeze till the morning, she looked up to see a few barn cats that just stared at her. Ashamed of being nude, beaten, and nothing anywhere close to being a soldier to protect anything, she turned and face the other direction, the sound of her heartbeat loud and hollow in her system as she tried to forget the pain and the hunger, her tongue sticking to the roof of her mouth from the thirst.
There was no hope in her mind and it was now that she slowly began to accept her fate, a fate and new determination to wait out the moments until she died.
