Please, like you haven’t been pregnant five times over. Who: Beth, Alma, and a bit of Wrex. What: School bullies suck. When: Tuesday afternoon. Where: Creekside High, the Ranch. Rating: PG-13 for language / innuendo. Status: Complete!
It was impossible to hide at school. To hide her belly from other eyes, and to hide from the looks and thoughts of others. It shocked her how judgemental people could be, and cruel. Their thoughts were crueler than their words, by far. The only thing she could hide was her feelings from Beth.
She was a nervous wreck by the end of the day. That she couldn’t hide, either.
When Beth approached her girlfriend’s locker at the end of the day, Beth caught a girl snickering at Alma behind a hand. Beth just glared at her. “Please, like you haven’t been pregnant five times over. Catty bitch.” The blonde wasn’t psychic, but she was well-connected.
Beth’s fingers went over Alma’s back, wrapping her arms around her. “You don’t have to keep coming here, Pretty.”
“I do not want them to win.” She scrunched up her face. The negativity was bad for her, and the baby. She was already thinking extremely violent thoughts, and a power breaker had blown earlier in the day.
And then the girl’s sinks had briefly run red with blood. Beth was right, Alma didn’t want to admit it.
“Please, you’ve already beaten them. Alma, you’re so much better than them, you always have been. You’re smarter and prettier - “ Beth was interrupted by a guy catcalling her and calling her something that normally she’d denied. But yeah. She was a dyke, if that’s what they wanted to call her.
Beth grinned. “Wanna drop out with me?”
“You only have a few months left, I am not letting you drop out,” Alma protested, as the boy’s pants suddenly fell down, exposing him for the world to see and laugh at. “Maybe we should get you some rainbows.” She was proud that Beth had let that word wash over her.
She shook her head. “Nope. I’ve already talked to people - a lot of kids are dropping out and getting their GEDs since they’re probably going to extend school. I’m dropping out today, I’m getting my GED, and I’m starting college on time. And I’m going to kiss you.”
Beth didn’t care. She pushed her girlfriend up against the lockers, gentle as anything, wrapping her arms around her tightly as she snogged her. It wasn’t a timid kiss, it was a hot thing that most people at the school had probably never seen. It was her way of admitting what she was.
Alma tangled her fingers in Beth's hair, kissing her as hotly and eagerly as she was being kissed. It was, literally, the first open admission by either of them that their relationship was more than hand holding.
Someone clapped excitedly.
That made Beth laugh. “Come on. Let’s go home.” Beth suspected that if they kept making out in the hall, what with Alma’s pregnancy hormones and powers, she’d end up causing a weird impromptu orgy in the hall.
Making a little protest sound, Alma pulled Beth back for another kiss. If they were going to drop out, she’d rather make a scene beforehand!
Sighing contentedly, Beth let her hands ride up Alma’s shirt a little, running her fingers over the skin on the small of her back. “Love you, Pretty. Passing the GED will be easy, I’m not worried. Besides, it’ll leave me more time to take care of you and our little girl.”
Alma shivered, leaning into Beth’s touch. “Lets go home. Our home.” It still boggled her mind a little that Beth was moving in with her. Not that long ago she was contemplating ways to kill herself.
Grinning, Beth grabbed the important stuff out of her locker, crammed it into her backpack, and walked hand in hand with Alma toward her car. “Your dad’s going to behead me. Again.”
“Probably. He believes an education is important.” She leaned against Beth as they walked, closing her eyes and navigating with her powers. “I think she will come before we are ready...”
“It’s not that I’m not getting it, I’m dropping out so I can start college on time. Which sounds weird.” Beth moved her hand to put it over Alma’s belly. “Yeah, you’re … do you think maybe you’re bringing her to term faster somehow?”
“It would explain why she was three months along a month after we’d first met,” Alma replied. She put her hand over Beth’s and beamed.
“You wanted kids with me that fast?” Beth grinned, tiptoeing up so she could nibble Alma’s earlobe. But they were soon enough at her car, and Beth opened up Alma’s door for her, making sure she was settled and comfortable.
Alma groped her on the way in, then carefully folded her hands over her stomach. For a moment, she looked almost idealic, glowing and content, a Mother figure.
Beth was so happy that Alma was so happy. She knew that sometimes Alma was sad and that she’d been sadder still before their meeting. If she was the catalyst for Alma Wade’s joy, so much the better.
“Want to grab any food before we head home?” She knew Alma had cravings.
“I would really like a burrito.” She patted her belly. “I think Elise would be happy with something with spice.”
“Mm, that sounds good to me too. Good thinking, kiddo.” Beth leaned over to kiss Alma’s bump before starting up the car and backing out. She grinned at the high school, shaking her head. “I hope you don’t mind if I keep doing cheering drills in the backyard every day. Maybe I can teach the kids at the Ranch some basic tumbling stuff.”
The kiss made Alma's smile brighten, "Perhaps that would not be a bad idea. They are always looking for something to help teach the teenagers discipline, and you are a drill instructor. A very sexy one."
“It’s good, it gives people focus. Pain can help make people stronger, it gives them something to power through.” She smiled a little to herself, remembering the day she’d discovered cheer. It had given her something to be. “A bunch of tiny warrioresses, that’s what we’re going to have, you and me.”
“A bunch? Are you intending on knocking me up on a regular basis?”
“Obviously.” Beth grinned at Alma and waggled her eyebrows. “Not going to stop sleeping with you, you know.”
“I am sure I can control my powers to prevent this from happening again.” Alma pointed out, rolling her eyes. But that also meant she could control them to make it happen. Her eyes lit up as it struck her. She turned to Beth. “I think I can impregnate you!”
Beth’s eyes went wide. “That would be … yeah, we should do that.” She couldn’t help but blush; she’d never wanted kids before, but the idea of having them with Alma was great.
“Somehow I knew you would accept that idea.” It actually made Alma very excited. She was already picturing how she wanted to do it. “Not..right away, but when Elise is a couple years old and you’re out of college. We should do it, together, at the same time. That would give us three.”
Beth grinned. “That’d be fantastic. You’re sure you don’t mind doing it twice? I could just carry twins later on.” She couldn’t help but reach out and run her fingers over Alma’s stomach as she drove, one hand on the wheel.
“I do not mind doing it twice, although twins would be nice.” She squeezed Beth’s fingers. pressing them against her stomach. She hoped Wrex would be okay with them leaving school early.
Beth was a little nervous about Wrex, but not enough to stop her from getting them all burritos and driving them over to the Ranch. She hopped out of the car, moved to open up Alma’s door, and held her hand as she walked into the main building. “You think he might be humping his hot girlfriend?”
“Not right now.” By the look on her face though, this was an all too common occurrence. “I wish they’d sort out their feelings. I think she is afraid of it being too serious.”
“I was going to suggest they start roleplaying. I mean, you like my cheer costume.” Beth grinned, leaning forward to show Alma some cleavage.
Alma simply shared with Beth mental images of Kasumi’s vast and varied ‘costume’ collection. Then promptly shoved her hand down Beth’s top.
Beth sighed happily. “Wonder if she’d share,” she purred. “I should buy more.”
“Talk to her and find out,” Alma suggested. She wanted Beth and Kasumi to get along anyway. It was very important to her.
“I’ll post a message for her later.” Beth grinned, moving up on the counter a little so she could kiss Alma, supporting herself with just her hands. “We’re alone,” she grinned.
“We’re alone,” Alma confirmed. Wrex was still out at the cabin, and he’d be in soon, but not yet. She let the kiss deepen.
Sighing happily, Beth moved a little, hopping up onto the counter and moving to sit on it and pull Alma closer. Being alone with you is the best part of my day, you know. I feel like I’m more myself with you than I’ve ever been.
You’ve always been yourself, you just never allowed yourself. Alma peered into Beth’s eyes as they communicated soundlessly. She liked feeling so close. You couldn’t be closer to a person than this.
Beth smiled happily, kissing Alma’s forehead. That’s probably true. And if I can make you happy, that’s a great accomplishment. Really. You deserve everything good. She liked just nuzzling close to her, just being with her and their daughter.
“So do you.” Alma closed her eyes and rested against Beth. Everything hurt, which she supposed was normal. But she was comfortable in a nice cocoon of good emotion, and her anger from earlier abated.
“C’mon, let’s eat burritos before they get cold. Plenty of time to have sex and weird your dad out with cat noises later.” Beth giggled, kissing Alma on the tip of her nose. “It’s too easy sometimes.”
“What’s too easy?” Wrex said, as he walked into the kitchen. “Get off the counter, this is a public space.”
“Freaking you out, Pops. Got you a burrito, you hungry?” Beth hopped off of the counter to grab them plates, doling out the food.
“Starving.” He took a burrito as Alma gave him a hug. He squeezed her. “How are you feeling? Shouldn’t you be in school?”
“We dropped out. Beth doesn’t want to start college late, and the teasing was going to make me melt brains,” Alma said, cheerfully.
Wrex gaped.
Beth was pouring Alma and herself some water. “It’s true, I talked to my school counselor, and getting a GED is the only way for me to start college on time. And Alma was being harassed.” She looked up at Wrex, cocking her head to the side. “Do you think Kasumi would tell me where she gets her outfits?” She might have been trying to make the gape worse.
The gape got worse and Alma had to look down at her food to keep her face straight. She only partially succeeded. Wrex slapped his hand over his face and rubbed it. “Long as it doesn’t screw up your chances, I don’t care. Alma doesn’t need it at all and I’d rather she doesn’t melt any brains.”
No comment on the costumes.
“Oh, no, I’ve already talked to the college, they’re fine. I’ve got a 4.0 as of now, they know it’s a special circumstance.” She smiled and moved to hug him. “Pops, you’re easy, you know that?”
“I try,” he grumped, hugging an arm around her. There was the grade thing, and he was actually impressed that she wanted to get that quick of a head start on things. “You probably could ace the GED easily.”
“I got one of those prep books,” she smiled. He’d hugged her easily and she’d liked it - which wasn’t something she could say about most people hugging her. “It was easy peasy. I take it on this coming Monday.” Beth was many things, but her best quality was her organization. When she wanted something, nothing would stand in her way.
“Until school starts, I figured I could help out around here?”
“You’re welcome to. Talk to Jenny or Elena to figure out where you’re most needed.” He had some ideas, but he liked delegating responsibility. Made him feel all authoritative.
Beth nodded. “Maybe I can teach tumbling or something.” She’d only miss cheer about her high school, but she knew she was a shoo-in for college teams. She’d taken her team to State for the last three years, and only not her freshman year because she’d been too young to be captain.
Wrex looked at her blankly, ignoring Alma’s giggle.
“I’m a cheerleader, remember? For recreation, I could put your kids through their paces. Something to be said for structure.” She grinned at Alma. “This one just wants to see me in the uniform.” Beth grinned, moving to kiss Alma’s neck. It felt like their honeymoon.
Cheerleader uniforms were hot, Wrex had to admit, eyes darting slightly. He shrugged a shoulder. “Check the calendar and find a time where there are enough kids free, and go for it.”
He shot them a look at the necking. Alma ignored it, tilting her head.
Beth’s kisses were playful as opposed to sexy, and she was grinning the whole time. “Awesome, I’ll let them know.” She also would have to let Kasumi know about Wrex’s cheerleader thing - she’d caught that eyedart.
“Do you want to know what we’re naming her?”
Wrex blinked. "Naming her? You've already settled on a name?" He shouldn't be so surprised, but he was.
“The first name, yeah.” Beth smiled. “Elise. She’s going to be our tiny warrior princess.” Beth couldn’t keep her arms from being around Alma, fond, snuggly.
Alma turned towards Wrex, and said, “Elise Wrex-Cassidy.”
Wrex suddenly had a feel, and blinked his eyes, looking around the kitchen like he was looking for that source of dust.
Beth did much the same, rubbing her eyes. “Stupid contacts,” she muttered.
"Welcome to the family, Beth and Elise." Wrex said, voice thick with emotion.
She couldn’t help it, moving to hug Wrex tightly. “Thanks,” she murmured. “Careful, think you’re going to spring a leak.” Beth grinned at Alma, unable to keep from feeling practically giddy.
“No one is allowed to leak,” Alma said, folding her arms and looking at them sternly.
Wrex rubbed his hand up and down Beth’s back. Probably the most fucked up family, but it was his family.
Beth laughed, shaking her head. “Even if we did leak, Pretty, it’d be ‘cause we’re happy. Promise.” She hugged Wrex again a little bit before moving to eat her food. “C’mon, Pops, you should eat. You look thin.”
"Says the cheerleader," he gridded, then stuffed his mouth.
“Hey, you have to stay thin to do stunts.” Beth flexed, grinning. “I can curl my own weight, bench more than that too. It’s all about muscle mass, you know that.” She playfully punched his arm.
“Ow,” he intoned, in the most absolute deadpan voice he could muster. He saw Alma’s face crinkle up just before she started to laugh.
