After a much needed nap and a brief catch-up with her brother, Abby had excused herself from the apartment to do some quick errands. Julian had offered to come with her, but having spent the last two and half years traveling on her own, not to mention twenty six hours stuffed on a plane like tuna in a sardine tin, she was looking forward to having a wander on her own. Aside from that, Abby didn't want Julian to know what she was about to do. It broke her heart enough as it was, but she was already living in his spare bedroom for free. And Abby didn't like living in debt, even when the broker was her brother.
Thus, less than twelve hours after returning to the United States Abby found herself in the midst of a pawn shop, her gaze falling on the strangest smile she'd seen in thousands of miles. It was welcoming, but perhaps not warm.
'Hello,' she replied, stepping further into the shop. 'Are there any items you wont deal in? Only, the last two places I've been say they wont take cameras...' and hadn't that been the most annoying thing ever because it was all Abby had that was worth any money.
