Little did John know, Tara had a variety of water balloons in her bag. Not too crazy about guns in general (she'd grown up around too many), she’d foregone water pistols, but she was not one to back down from a good-natured water fight.
Tara gently removed her arm from John’s grip and began rifling through her bag, producing a pen and pad of paper. Pulling the top off the pen, she stopped walking to begin writing. Preparation for scavenger hunts was key, especially if they were going to split up and cover more distance. Luckily, she had brought the first item John mentioned – two, she knew he was only visiting and thought ahead – but knew there was much more to find.
“Towels… Check, Beach balls… Still need,” she mumbled as she scribbled, touching the pen to her bottom lip as she thought on what else a scavenger hunt could contain.
Grinning, Tara began scribbling more items onto the notepad. Once complete, she tore the list in half and handed one to John. “If we split up, we can find our items more quickly.” Plus, then they could race. Tara always enjoyed a good race. She grinned widely and winked at her companion. “Good luck,” she wished as she turned and raced off down the hallway to find her list.
John had better hurry -- after all, Tara already had towels crossed off her list.
John’s List:
- A novel (romance, if possible) - Two pairs of sunglasses - A penny (Welcome to America!) - Any kind of floaty toy
