The search for ring had yielded nothing more than 'Meh' every time he saw one. He'd wanted to give her the ring from his dreams, and maybe the cosmos had heard him since he was here, giving her the ring under the glow of the lights along the walk and the Eiffel Tower. There were a few people watching them. Bill didn't mind, it only added to it. Music played and people sang around them.
In his chest, he felt his heart flutter as she looked from him to the ring in the box, her eyes brimming with tears. Just as he opened his mouth to ask her, she answered for him. It was so famously Fleur that he couldn't help a shaky laugh.
"I haven't even asked yet," he pointed out. Then, before she could say anything else, he asked, "Will you marry me?" It was only proper to ask the question.
