in which Roy probably gets banned from Disneyland...
Who: Roy and Open (Law enforcement types maybe? Others who hang around the street?)
When: Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning
Where: Disneyland Hotel Rooftop
What: Roy...Well...Just read it.
Was this legal? Roy had no idea idea, but he'd woken up around one from another dream, different this time, and maybe it had been the lack of sleep, or maybe it had been his own need to assure himself he wasn't completely insane, but for whatever reason, he had grabbed his bow, a quiver, strapped them to his back, and set out with the need to get to higher ground. Because...he'd done it there, and maybe he wondered if it was even going to work here, or maybe because he wanted to recreate it, walk through the dreams that had gone from disturbing to just plain WEIRD.
Whatever way you looked at it, the Disneyland hotel had worked reasonably well. Plenty of fire escapes to scramble up, ladders for maintenance, places to scale the building, decorations he was able to use for support, and Hidden Mickeys... okay, so he'd gotten pretty well scrapped up there, and he'd almost fallen, but here he was, right now, 12 stories above the ground at the segment of hotel that he'd picked, perched on the hotel roof and watching, waiting.
In the dream, it'd looked a little bit like San Francisco, which he couldn't replicate of course, but he'd been on this kind of building there, a few of them, trailing a guy in green, with a demented looking Robin Hood vibe going on. He'd trailed him in and out of shadows for a while, then, at the top of the highest building, finally the guy had stepped out of the shadows and he'd grinned, revealing Oliver. "You're good, kid." he'd said, with an approving nod, as if it was a perfectly acceptable thing to do, chasing people across the rooftops.
That part of the dream had been, well, weird, to say the least, since, okay, Oliver had been a fan of lots of things most people gave up after college, but even he'd have drawn the line at encouraging Roy to go out in the dead of night and trespass on rooftops. Hell, even if he had, DINAH would have been pretty pissed at both of them, and logically, Roy knew that seeing something in a dream was pretty much like seeing something on TV. Kids, we're professionals, don't try this at home, or some such shit.
Well, he hadn't listened on that front. No, he'd wondered if he could actually DO it, which was how he found himself peering into the night now, breaking at least a couple laws, since he was carrying the bow, some arrows, and a couple concealed knives, hanging out on a hotel rooftop where he wasn't even staying, dressed like, well, a skinny ginger teenager, looking like he was about to case the joint, and yeah. It had been dumb to say the least. Not to mention he hadn't even thought about how he was getting down...
But even as he stood there feeling stupid, melting himself into shadows, and waiting for...something... he couldn't help but admire the view, at least on some gut level. Right now? Everything felt RIGHT...
