Who: Jubilee and Lorna Dane What: shopping, jumping, eating Where: The mall, rooftops, an alley, and a coffee shop. When: Tuesday evening Warnings: semi-sexual situations and vampiric nomming.
The mall was horrific. She’d anticipated this. Still, her parents had enough hats, mittens, scarves, socks, etc. She couldn’t make them something new in time for Christmas. Maybe next year she’d tackle sweaters. She was in the food court looking at a list of the mall’s shops, trying to balance the likelihood of finding something good with the likelihood that it would be pricey. She loved to splurge on her parents, and her saving were pretty fat, still, but she knew that money would have to last as long as possible.
She tapped her finger on the table, her face scrunched up in concentration, except when she was eating. “Maybe I’ll send them a jar of fancy cake mix and forget this mall stuff.”
Jubilee liked to cruise the mall. It was in her blood. Heh. Blood. She could feel it all around her. Sense it, smell it, hear it. The lives of hundreds of people pressing around her. It was enough to spark the hunger, but she'd gotten better at ignoring it. Instead, she let life and people flow through her.
And then she saw a face that looked oddly familiar. She smelled familiar (Jubilee was still getting used to that). "No freaking way."
She darted through the crowd, moving speedily. She appeared behind Lorna as if she'd teleported, but she hadn't. She stepped around into Lorna's line of sight, to get a better look at her. Wrong hair color, but it was definitely Polaris. She grinned toothily. "Yo, you okay? You've got like this.." She waved her hands. "Like you've got a fridge dropped on your brain or something."
Lorna looked up at the cute Asian girl. She smiled brightly, her whole posture changing. “Oh, Christmas shopping. I never know what my parents want.” She put the mall map aside. “It must be a pretty intense expression if you noticed it.” Not that she minded. Chatting was so much better than making faces at the map, and facing the inevitability of spending too much money on silly things. Lorna wasn’t great at gift giving.
Pulling out a chair, Jubilee turned it around and plopped into it with casual ease. She wore a yellow jacket, black jeans and an black shirt underneath it, and had cheesy pink sunglasses propped up on the top of her head. Her eyes were a very unusual dark red color, and she seemed unhealthily pale. But she was cheerful. "Gift cards. That's what I do these days, yo! Never know what to get Kit-Kat or Ollie so just get them gift cards to places. Let them figure it out!"
She flexed her fingers, resisting the urge to paff. She wanted to paff so badly.
Lorna wondered about the girl’s eyes for a second, before realizing she was the last person to judge someone else for having red eyes. “Nah, I’m hoping to conceal my cheapness, and gift cards are pretty easy to figure out, price wise.” It wasn’t like $20 to the Olive Garden would do them any good. “I was thinking maybe one of those chocolate fondue fountains. It’s something I think Mom would like, at least.”
"Chocolate fountains are the bomb," Jubilee replied, pumping a fist in the air. Then she eyedarted and held out her hand. "I'm Jubilee, by the way. Go for the chocolate. Who could turn down chocolate?"
That was a good point. Lorna nodded. “They just had white carpets put in, but I’m sure they’ll still love it. I’ll send some cookie mix along, too.” Lorna shook the other girl’s hand, smiling. “I’m Lorna. Your name is pretty cool.” She’d always wanted to be anything but Lorna. “So do you wander the mall spreading decisiveness as a hobby?”
"My real hobby is beating up shoplifters and badguys," Jubilee joked, mock punching a bad guy out and making a 'kapow!' sound with her mouth. "Oh, and getting mall security pissed at me when I, like spring up and down the escalators and crap." And jump off the second floor. Pfft.
She snapped her fingers, creating a momentary burst of blue light. "I dunno, Lorna's a pretty cool name too!"
The light made Lorna blink a bit. She definitely hadn’t imagined it. “Whoa, do that again!” She looked at Jubilee with surprise and delight. It must be some kind of magic trick! An awesome one, too.
"Do what?" Jubilee asked playfully. "Oh, you mean this little thing? It's nothing." She snapped her fingers, the light green this time. Then she wriggled them, and little multicolored fireworks exploded over Lorna's meal. She was grinning like an idiot.
Lorna laughed in amazement. “That is seriously the coolest thing ever.” Her meal wasn’t holding up that well, but she didn’t need her third chalupa. “How do you do it?”
"Magic!" She popped her fingers out, like making an explosion, and even made a 'kapow!' sound with her mouth again. "It's totes awesome! I wish I could show you how, but hey, maybe you have your own gift!"
Lorna laughed. “Well, nothing so neat, but I’m good at stuff.” Growing plants and making hats wasn’t the best trick for impressing new friends. “No wonder the mall police hate you.”
"They hate me 'cause I keep doing things that make them worried I'll break my neck and sue them." Jubilee laughed. "Like that would ever happen. Hey do you want to see something awesome?" She looked at Lorna thoughtfully then shook her head to clear it. No, she won't nom on Scott's sorta sister-in-law.
“I pretty much live for awesome things, so yeah.” Lorna nodded, curious to see what would happen. There wasn’t much self-preservation instinct in the Dane family as a whole.
"Great! Come on." Jubilee bounced to her feet and rocked on her heels like she was impatiently waiting for Lorn to get up AND FOLLOW OMG.
Lorna stood up slower than Jubilee because, well, she’d expected more magic tricks. She looked eagerly at the other girl, wondering where they were going.
Jubilee led her through the mall, and then up to the second floor. She looked around, then pushed open a door that led them outside, and onto the roof. The wind was chilly and Jubilee sprinted, then flipped up onto another part of the roof at least five feet higher than anyone should have any right to be able to jump.
Then she turned and lifted her hands. Fireworks shot out of them!
The roof was exciting enough for Lorna. Pot aside, she didn’t generally break rules very often. She even drove the speed limit (which wasn’t hard on an electric scooter). Of course, that jump was simply incredible. She clapped with glee. “Oh my gosh. That was fantastic! You must have trained, like, from birth to do that!”
"Gold medals," Jubilee shouted, flipping off and landing next to Lorna, rolling to absorb the impact. There was another reason, and a big one why her plans for world championships would probably never come to fruition. But sure, she could tell her she was a vampire. That would go over great she could say 'hey, can I bite you? Promise it feels AWESOME if I don't drain you to death'. Of course, she didn't.
"London Olympics." She smiled proudly.
“Oh My God.” Lorna squealed, nearly at a pitch that only dolphins could hear. “That’s amazing!” There really wasn’t anything else she could say. Too bad she hadn’t run into Michael Phelps instead, but maybe all former olympians lived in Orange County.
She'd met Michael Phelps, he was an ass. Jubilee winced at the pitch, as it hurt. "Easy not so loud! You'll bring attention!" Says the fireworks girl. She was grinning though. "Gymnastics! Though I guess that's kinda obvious." She eyedarted a bit, then put an arm around Lorna's shoulder. "Wanna see the view from up there?"
Lorna covered her mouth when Jubilee winced. “Oops, sorry.” She brightened when Jubilee put her arm around her shoudlers. Of course Lorna wanted to do something completely dangerous. “Sure!” She was sure her mom would disapprove of this, but these days that was less of a deterrent than in the past.
Jubilee picked Lorna up, damsel style, and then lept up. Sort of like superman. She landed on the other roof, but didn't put her down. Instead she grinned at her, eyes glinting. She hoped she wouldn't freak out. Too much. A little freaking was fine.
Lorna at least covered her mouth before squealing in disbelief. Then she held onto Jubilee for dear life again, realizing that would be much safer. This was thrilling and terrifying! Plus, there was no way it was really happening. Maybe someone had put mescaline in her chalupas.
Jubliee set Lorna down, staring for a moment at her neck, then shaking her head to clear it. "From here you can see so much! And it's not even the highest we could go, yo! But it'll do, dontcha think?" She grinned at the other woman, though broke eye contact early. She remembered mesmerizing Rahne on accident, and didn't like to repeat that.
Lorna nodded. This was definitely high enough! “That was. . . amazing.” There was no other word for it. She was a little nervous, but the view was spectacular. “Do you do this kind of thing often? Pick up strange girls from the food court and whisk them away to look at the awesome view?”
"Usually I'm alone, but I liked your look." She flashed her teeth at Lorna, shen stuffed her hands in her jacket pockets, realizing she might be flirting. She thought of Laura, and let out a little sigh. Her dreams about that girl still made her feel conflicted.
“Oh, well, anytime you want to jump around on top of buildings, you should let me know. I tend to look about the same all the time, and this has been waaaay more fun that paperwork and fondue fountain shopping.” She smiled at Jubilee, trusting that this situation, weird as it was, wasn’t dangerous. “Beside, how many people can say they got kidnapped by cute gymnasts? I mean, I can feel the sad, lonely nerd continuum quiver just from me saying that.”
She flashed another grin at Lorna. "Flexible, too." Then she bent over backwards, grabbed her ankles, and then did a handstand from that position. She bounced back to her feet and stepped closer. "You're cute too, you know."
Lorna whistled, truly impressed. The compliment made her grin. “Thanks! I do try.” She put her hands in her pockets, not sure what to say. “Do you want to, uh, get coffee or something? It’s a little windy, and something nice and warm would be really appreciated right now.” She pretty much had to ask the cute, flexible olympian out for coffee. When else would she get the chance? Beside, she had to know how Jubilee had been able to do such superhuman things.
"Sure, that sounds good..." Jubilee picked her up again, biting hard on her own lip. Hopefully the coffee would distract her. What she wouldn't give for some of Logan's wolvie cola blood right about now. Lorna’s pulse was obvious to her.
Probably it was all that death defying jumping. Lorna held on tight again, trying to remember where the closest coffee was. Well, the closest coffee that wasn’t at the mall. “I’ll let you pick the place, since I picked the activity.” It was better than admitting she was new to town and didn’t have anyone who would notice she was missing. She wasn’t quite that silly.
"Hmmmmm... " Jubilee didn't know if she was more bothered by how tempted she was to sink her teeth into Lorna's neck, or by how tempted she was to cheat on Ollie and try to do more than just coffee. Though he'd probably let her get away with it. She licked her lips. "I think I know just the place, chica!"
Then she lept off the roof.
Lorna held on tightly to Jubilee, her eyes shut tight. The urge to scream was strong, but she didn’t want to draw excess attention. Not everyone would be as cool about this as she was. Even with her eyes closed, the fall was terrifying. She hoped Jubilee could land okay with the extra weight.
Jubilee landed, the impact sending dust away from them in a ring. It was jarring, vibrations running up Jubilee's body and into Lorna. Then she started to jog down a back alleyway. "Did you come in a car? We can come back to it, we'll take my car."
“I took my scooter.” The jogging was pretty jarring too, but they were going too fast for her to think she could keep up if she went on her own. “It will be okay, though. I took the connector for the battery when I went inside.” She checked her coat pocket to make sure it was still there.
"Coolio!" Jubilee slowed down as they reached the parking lot, then searched for her car. It was a brand new VW bug, painted yellow, of course. A replacement baby for her old old old bug that had been on it's last legs. She set Lorna down.
Lorna was a little wobbly as she walked, and her hands were shaking. Turns out being thrown/carried off a really tall height was scary. It was obvious, in retrospect. She reached into her pockets, and pulled out a glass pipe and a small bag of her private stash. “Uh, do you mind if I smoke? That was pretty freaky.”
Jubilee looked at the pipe and grinned. "Go ahead, chica. I'll keep the windows up, I want the contact high!" She wasn't sure she could get high. It wasn't like she needed to be tested for the Olympics anymore, either. So she was chill, or whatever.
"Could probably freak you out more if you wanted." She winked, and unlocked the doors.
Lorna laughed and slid in. “That’s probably the worst line I’ve ever heard.” She loaded the pipe as she spoke. “But I’ll probably be up for it. I’m not an adrenaline junkie, but that was a lot of fun.” It was just gratifying to know that real life could be as strange as the world inside her head.
"I hear it feels orgasmic," Jubilee continued, licking her fangs behind her lips and pressing a button to start the car. "If you ever want to meet an adrenaline junkie you should talk to Kit-Kat. That girl is crazy with dangerous stuff!"
Lorna quirked an eyebrow, but was too busy at the moment to speak. She relaxed after a couple puffs, smiling. “Who’s that? I haven’t been here long enough to many people.”
"Kitty. She's on the net a lot more than me. Well she talks a lot, I lurk more." Now that she was driving, and the secondary high from Lorna's smoking was starting to affect her, Jubilee couldn't tell if she was more hungry, or less hungry. Maybe coffee would settle her stomach until she got home.
“Oh, I’ll look for her. Not that I need much of an adrenaline rush, but it’s good to know people.” Lorna looked out the window for a second, to see if she knew where they were going. “So how do you do all this stuff? You make those parkour guys look like wusses, and it doesn’t even seem like you’re trying.”
"You heard about people having dreams yo? The ones on the net? I get them too. They kinda came with...extra stuff. Like this jacket. And the glasses. The fireworks." She grinned at her, then decided, why the hell not?
"Also, I'm a vampire. Bloodsucker. Stalker of the night. 'Cept I can walk in the sun 'cause I got this amulet. And if you don't believe me, you can totes look at me in the mirror." Jubilee turned a corner, and parked in front of a coffee shop.
Lorna shook her head. She hadn’t heard about that. “Wow, that must be a freaking trip.” What else could she say? Obviously there was something different about Jubilee, and vampire made as much sense as anything else. She wasn’t terribly worried about this revelation. If Jubilee had intended to hurt Lorna, there had been ample opportunity earlier. “Is that what you were talking about a minute ago? When you said something feels orgasmic.”
She nodded her head. "As long as I'm not trying to like..kill you, yeah. It feels really awesome." She'd gotten really good at stopping. It had been a lot harder, at first. Though now the fridge was full of plasma. She hadn't had a real person in awhile, not counting the occasional nipping at Ollie.
Lorna thought about that for a minute. She took another pull on her pipe as she thought. “Okay, sure. If you wanted to hurt me you would have, and I donate blood anyway. This isn’t that much different.” Right? Probably not. But what the hell.
"Well, it's going to a good cause, namely me." She jerked her thumbs at herself, then tugged at the collar of her jacket all gangster like. Then she blinked, her eyes shining. "Wait. Are you offering?"
Lorna nodded. “Sure. You said it felt good, and that it wouldn’t hurt me, so why not? You can buy me coffee and we’ll call it even, as long as I can drive my scooter home after we’re done getting coffee.”
"No fools?" Jubilee started the car again. A coffee shop parking lot was no place for that. "I'm gonna buy you so much coffee. But we need uhm..a darker place." She found one a few blocks east, and parked, shutting the car down. She rested a hand on Lorna's leg. "I won't be pissed if you wanna back out."
“Yeah.” Lorna nodded as they left the coffee shop. “I’m not worried.” She didn’t think it was the pot calming her down. She just wasn’t bothered. “This is only slightly weirder than the previous most weird thing I’ve ever done, and I know a lot more about this than the previous thing.” She’d made a mental note not to date anyone who had a secret again. At least this girl was legitimately a vampire and not just into weird and disappointing role play.
Jubilee looked at her a moment, then managed to contort herself until she was in Lorna's lap, straddling her. She made the seat go back, and then peered down at her, eyes darting around Lorna's face. "I'll go slow. It'll hurt a bit at first."
Lorna nodded, putting her hands on Jubilee’s hips, for lack of a better idea. “Okay. Oh, let me move my hair.” She twisted it up, away from her neck, and leaned her head on it to keep it in place. “Okay, now I’m ready.” She tried to stay relaxed, figuring excitement might make it harder to keep still, and increase how much it hurt.
"....this is gonna sound totes weird, but you have a nice neck." Jubilee giggled nervously, then leaned in, nuzzling her jaw, and trailing her lips along it and then down towards where Lorna's neck and shoulder met. She licked there, lightly, then her teeth extended and she bit down gently. Her fingers massaged at the other woman's shoulders and upper arms as she did so.
Lorna sighed softly at the attention. Okay, getting laid was getting reprioritized. Under paperwork and plants still, but definitely before finding another Dungeons and Dragons group. She winced slightly as Jubilee’s teeth broke her skin, but it wasn’t so bad. “My, what sharp teeth you have.” Her voice was a little giddy, though whether that was from fear, pot, or hormones was anyone’s guess. She shifted her head to the side, to give Jubilee more room to maneuver.
Jubilee managed to not laugh. Laughing right now might be bad. She did grin against Lorna's neck though, just before she started to suck, flicking her tongue out occasionally to catch any stray rivulets. As promised, she went slow, and it somehow felt all the more sensual.
Lorna groaned softly as the pleasure of the experience began to sink in past the hazy fog of being high. She moved her hands back to Jubilee’s hips, stroking lightly down the other woman’s legs. This was probably the hottest weird thing ever.
Lorna tasted wonderful, and Jubilee rocked her hips lightly in response to her hands. She whimper moaned, slowing herself down even more before her hunger demanded she drink faster. Her own hands rubbed down to Lorna's waist, and back up.
Just a few minutes, she thought. Depending on how much Lorna bled.
The more turned on Lorna got, the faster her heart beat, and the quicker her blood moved. Jubilee’s movements were so hot, and Lorna groped her tentatively as things heated up. Of course, being touched in return was also pretty awesome. “Oh, man.” She groaned softly, eyes closed to savor the intense pleasure.
Jubilee's fingers edged up into Lorna's shirt, and she sucked harder. She arched into the groping, rocking her hips a little faster. Lorna's blood was making her dizzy. It was a good sort of dizzy, and she wanted more of it. It was a good sort of heat and she wanted more of it.
Lorna slid her hands up Jubilee’s butt and under her coat. She could get behind this groping thing for sure. She just wanted to wrap herself up in the delicious pleasure and never come out. But there was something in the back of her mind. Wasn’t something else happening? Surely She’d forgotten something important. Her hands stopped their explorations, stilling on the small of Jubilee’s back. “Don’t get lost.” She wasn’t sure if she was talking to herself or not.
Panting (though she needed no air) Jubilee stopped drinking, her hands having risen to Lorna's breasts. She licked up some of the mess that Lorna's racing heart was making of her shoulder, resisting the urge to drink deeply again. Resisting the urge to.. to turn her. The thought was revolting - she couldn't imagine making someone else live like this. Jubilee hid the killer instinct well, but it was still there.
"Lost? I think we just got found." She looked down at Lorna’s face, licking her lips clean.
Lorna fanned herself a little. The hot, pot scented car now felt really close. “That was intense. I need a little air.” She slowly slid her hands off Jubilee’s back, and wondered if she had anything to put on her neck to stop the bleeding. Now that the moment was over, she was getting nervous.
The urge to kiss Lorna was overpowering, but Jubilee opened the door and climbed out, searching her pockets for something. She then pressed some napkins into Lorna's neck. "It'll..clot over in a little bit," she said, wiping her mouth and chin with another. Renewed life pulsed through her and it was a heady sensation. Or maybe that was the pot. At least she knew how to get a little high now - find someone who was!
"Wow..." She giggled.
Lorna laughed as well, compressing her neck carefully. “Holy crap. That was intense.” She smiled brightly, the fresh air helping her feel perky again. “So was it good for you?” She took a few deep breaths, leaning against the car. That was definitely a trip.
"So good, you have no idea. Beats the hell out of the bottled stuff." She grinned at Lorna, leaning against the car as well, keeping a little space between them until the buzz in her body wore off. She did reach out and stroke Lorna's arm with a finger, though. "I think I got your high. That's totes awesome. You're totes awesome. I can't believe you let me do that, just like that."
Lorna giggled. “That’s hilarious. I’m glad you enjoyed it.” She stroked Jubilee’s hair away from her face. “I’m all about helping people get high. I hope my personal breed translates as well through blood as it does normally.” She giggled a little. “It was a little scary, but I’m glad I did it.”
Lorna's memories were an interesting jumble, but Jubilee ignored them, and hoped nothing weird would crop up. Like the fursuit. Wtf? She guessed Lorna was sexually adventurous, which was unbelievably tempting. "It's a rush, yeah. Like having a...having a..something." She laughed, leaning her head against Lorna's hand. "It was hot."
Lorna snickered, and leaned over to kiss Jubilee. By now her mouth wouldn’t be bloody, right? Well, even if it was, that seemed like the appropriate thing to do. It was a just a brief, chaste kiss. She wasn’t certain about the situation, so she didn’t want to presume.
Jubilee flushed, her cheeks coloring with what was technically Lorna's blood. The kiss confirmed for her what she'd suspected since she started becoming a vampire. It made her want to do more. She chewed her lip, then leaned in and kissed Lorna back. She should probably check but she did have a standing agreement with Ollie about her experimenting with girls.
Even if she was supposed to bring said girl home.
Lorna enjoyed the kiss. It was nice to just have something simple and easy. Her life had too many complications right now. She kept thinking about Jubilee bending over backward, and had to resist the urge to giggle again. “Should probably have something to eat.” The last thing she wanted was to pass out in the middle of something awesome.
Jubilee nodded, kissing Lorna once more, then helped her into the car. As she got in herself, she pondered on if Lorna would be interested more than kissing. Or if she'd be interested in a no-strings threesome with her and her boyfriend. She drove them back to the coffee shop. "They have these awesome scones that should do the trick!"
Lorna wasn’t sure herself where she stood on the sex issue. She’d never been with a woman before, but was that a lack of opportunity, or interest? She thought Jubilee was sexy, but did that mean anything at all? She defaulted to her normal decision making method, which was to just let whatever happened happen. If there was lesbian vampire sex in her future, then so be it. “Sounds perfect.” She smiled brightly, feeling oddly invigorated. Wasn’t she supposed to feel the opposite? Once again, Lorna decided to just go with it.
Jubilee parked, glancing out her window for a moment, before she opened the door. The whole night was making her wonder where her relationship with Ollie was going. Not that she considered Lorna a potential long-term partner, but just in general. She put it out of her mind, and turned to Lorna. "I'm going to ply you with coffee, too."
“I’m good with all kinds of bribes.” Lorna said with a laugh. She slid out of the car, taking a deep breath of the cool air. She was a little unsteady, but she managed to get into the shop without very much fuss. “I’m going to clean up, can you order me a scone and a regular cup of coffee?” She didn’t want to have napkins stuck to her neck all night. It probably looked silly.
"Gotcha!" Jubilee headed to the counter, and ordered two scones and a cup of coffee. She was waiting at a table by the time Lorna was finished.
"You know what's funny?" Jubilee said, sipping from a water bottle she'd also ordered. "I didn't..like girls, until the whole vampire thing. Not that way, anyway. Or maybe I just never really thought about it before that."
Lorna spent most of her time in the bathroom wishing she’d worn a shirt she liked less. Oh well. When life handed you a gift, you didn’t worry about things like that. She washed herself up, at least, and buttoned her coat again to hide the little splatters of blood.
She took the seat across from Jubilee, and started in on her scone. The other girl’s confession was interesting. “I don’t know. I think sexuality can be a funny thing. Though there is a gay vampire stereotype. Maybe once you become something other than human, you get over hang ups like that and just see a person for who or what they are?” She shrugged. “I’ve never done anything that intimate with a girl before. I’ve flirted, but I don’t take anything seriously, and I never really worried about my sexuality. I just take things as they come, and either learn from them or cherish them.”
"Maybe it was a girl that did it." Jubilee shrugged her shoulder. Laura had understood what it was like to be a killer, to be something that wasn't quite human and had instincts constantly at work to hurt people. Jubilee wasn't afraid to admit part of her had fallen in love with little two claws.
She laughed. "I kinda figured if you're not freaked out about what we did, something like kissing girls isn't going to bother you."
“Not really, no.” Lorna said with a laugh. “It was nice. All of it, I mean. I’m glad you decided to talk to me at the mall.” It certainly had been a thrilling night. “So what do we do now? I mean, after coffee and scones. So in twenty minutes or so.”
Jubilee swallowed a mouthful of water and nearly choked on it. "Wanna know the truth? I haven't thought that far ahead yet." She was really liking Lorna, which was causing all sorts of interesting and confusing feels in her brain.
She ran a hand through her hair.
“Well, we could go to my place and watch a movie, or something. Or your place is fine. Or we could meet up again later.” She shrugged. “But I’m having fun so far, so later is probably my least favorite option.”
"A movie sounds good!" Jubilee felt herself relaxing a little bit. "I think I could use a movie right about now." She patted her stomach, grinning. "I need to digest."
Lorna laughed a little. “Sounds good, then! In a bit. It’s nice and warm in here, and riding the scooter at night in winter is no picnic.”
Jubilee pumped her fists in the air, nearly paffing all over the place. But she controlled herself. "Okay, in a bit, chica. I think we're gonna be awesome friends."
She hoped she'd get to snack again, sometime, too.
