Uhura just raised her eyebrows at Spock. He was challenging her and she knew it. Luckily for her she wasn't as much of a homebody as she had been back in college. She had actual friends who she went out with for drinks and dinners and things. She wasn't sure if Spock would believe her if she said that though, but it was worth a shot.
"Believe it or not, Spock, but I have friends who I spend time with when I'm not working." They were friends from work, but still. They didn't always talk about work when they hung out. She was clearly getting frustrated with this conversation and her infinite patience was actually starting to wear thin.
