Who: Obi-Wan and Margaery
What: Adventures in baking!
Where: Casa Kenobi-Tyrell
When: Wednesday
Rating: I'm sure this will be very G.
Status: Complete
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
Obi-Wan was standing in the kitchen, the recipe he'd printed from the internet in one hand and a large mug of coffee in the other. The nicotine patch on his shoulder was visible beneath the cuff of his short-sleeved shirt. He was still looking a little weary since his search for Dani, but his eyes were sharp and clear.
He looked up at Margaery, holding on the paper. "There it is. I'm not sure what went wrong the first time."
Although by some of the ingredients he'd gathered on the countertop, it was clear that he'd made a few adjustments he had not yet admitted to. The cornmeal was the wrong grind and there was no baking powder to be seen, only baking soda.
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
2. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mix egg, sour cream, milk, and butter in a small bowl. Fold egg mixture into flour mixture until just moistened; pour into prepared baking dish.
3. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm.
