Who: Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash What: Dash helping her fix the tree stand, awkwardness leads to unplanned asking out on Fluttershy's part. When: Some time after this. Where: Fluttershy’s house. Rating: PG-13 for for awkward unintentional suggestiveness? Status: Complete!
Fluttershy had enjoyed Dash’s company, so it had been her first thought instead of posting in the net for help. It was always easier for her to ask someone she knew than a place that was still rather foreign to her. She had dealt with Angel (who was acting like no such thing), and put him in a cage with pellets instead of the fresh food he usually received.
Him dealt with, and last texts sent, she took to trying to pick up to few broken decorations that had fallen. The tree had been the heaviest bit, and she was as weak as she was. She sighed and let everything for the tree stay there whilst waiting for Dash to get to her place.
When she heard knocking, she rushed over to see her. She’d gotten out of the shower at the time of the tree falling, so she’d put her hair up in a messy bun and it dried that way. Her only clothes werea pair of short shorts and an oversized sweater that hung slightly off either shoulder. “H-hi!”
RD grinned, more than a little happy to see her so, uh, enthusiastic about it. By Fluttershy standards and everything. “Hi. Nice to be back here.”
Even if she was starting to think that Angel was evil in fuzzy bunny form. Least appropriate name ever.
He may be evil, but he was her little demon angel bunny and she loved him. Even if he tended to be a jerk sometimes. She smiled and blew her bangs up from in front of her face with puckered lips before taking hold of Dash’s hand to lead her inside. It was mostly just to hurry her in because she didn’t want her current foster animal to scurry his way outside.
“Y-yeah. Nice..” Bent over to look under the fabric of the bottom of the couch and upon not finding the little thing, stood up and folded her arms with a pout. “Fine. Be that way. I’ll find you later...” She stomped a foot softly before pointing to the tree. “See... He broke the stand. Or... It broke and he just pushed it enough...” Pulled and tugged at her sleeves.
Huh. RD tried not to wonder what she was looking for, and tried not to stare when she bent over. There laid the path of madness and terrible, terrible thoughts. “I can try and fix it, I guess. I mean... how much damage can one bunny do, right?”
“ Well... uh. Yeah.” Fluttershy bit her lip and gave a very strong and serious glare to the rabbit in his cage. “Bad bunny.” Sure, she didn’t always say things like that, but she’d had the last straw with him. Her gaze was more than a little intense if Dash saw it.
...That may have been a bit too, uh, interesting. In a very special way. RD coughed, trying to hide the sudden and inexplicable blush, quickly moving to try and fix the tree. She could do this! It wasn’t like it’d be impossible or anything...
Nope! Not impossible in the slightest. Fluttershy turned her attention back on Dash and tipped her head as she watched. “B-be careful. I... Oh no!” She rushed over and took hold of her by the hips and pulled her slightly into what would seem like a hug, only to reach down and pick gently up a few broken ornaments from the spot that had been closest to RD. Once removed, she slowly let go of her and went to throw the glass trinkets away. “Didn’t want you getting hurt...”
That was... different. Nice different! “Uh... thanks. Kinda need my hands for things like this, so...” Yeah, that train of thought was stopping right there, before RD made an unfortunate innuendo or two. Not that Fluttershy would probably get them, but still!
“Of course! You have nice hands after all.” Smiled and walked over to sit on the edge of the couch closest to RD so she could watch her. “They’re big... But not too big. ” Gave the most adorable face before pulling her hair down from the messy up do and began combing it through with her fingers. “If... you think about it. Humans are lucky. Our hands are shaped a lot differently than some animals that share the same intelligence as us. Could you imagine what a kitty could do if it had a proper thumb?”
Oh, man. That was awkward. So very awkward. Did Fluttershy even know what she was saying? RD may have turned an interesting shade of red, but did her best to cover it up. “I think they’d end up taking over the world. Kitties are a little evil.”
Cute, but evil. Undeniably. Especially Rarity’s cat.
“I love pussy..” Coughed from a sudden bunny hair in her throat before finishing her sentence as if nothing had gone wrong. “cats. But sometimes they can be.. Mean. They are just demanding and independent.” Focused on her hair before getting frustrated at lacking a brush and put it up into a poofy ponytail. Fluttershy looked at the tree. “Did you know cats have over one hundred vocal sounds... Dogs have about ten to twenty depending on breed.”
Dear Celestia, this was getting worse. RD was trying not to let on, but it was more than a little difficult. “Guess it’s just part of how clever they are or something... it’s sometimes kinda scary how much they can figure out, though.”
Fluttershy lifted her arms above her head and let off a string of moans and squeaks before shuddering from the pleasure of a good stretch. Leaning forward she went to fixing the ears on her slippers, that sweater going a bit too far down. “S-so... How is the fixing coming along?” Looked up to check and saw her face. “Oh my! Is it too warm in my house? I like it cozy and sometimes people say it’s too hot! Oh... Oh my!” Moved over to feel her forehead and cheeks. “I... I can turn the heat down!”
“It’s... it’s fine, really!” RD refocused on her task, willing the blush down as best she could. Damn her. Damn her good. “Think I’ve almost got it... just, uh, need to put the tree back once I’m done, I guess...”
Words were hard.
“Oh! Good! I’ll go get you a drink...” Went off on her way to grab a drink for her, and when she came back there was her little foster pet slithering up around Dash’s leg. “There you are! Please try not to move, you’ll scare him.” Left to set the drink down. Sure enough, there was a rather beautiful looking python wrapping itself around her leg and thigh. He wasn’t big, so he couldn’t do much in the way of damage... Other than possibly scaring the shit out of someone of they weren’t expecting it or don’t like snakes.
Then it was clearly a good thing that RD was mostly okay with snakes. True, they were kinda weird, but... she could cope. “Definitely not moving, don’t worry...”
Fluttershy was quick to reach between her legs, accidentally pushing against places while focusing solely on getting the snake unwrapped. “Oh... Oh sweetie. Please. Let go of the person’s leg...” Pushed a bit firmer when she moved her hand to grab his head. Finally the snake let go when she held behind his jaw and she moved to put him back into his glass tank and cover it properly this time around. She is completely oblivious of where she’d been pushing to and really doesn’t care much, too focused on grabbing one of the frozen mice from the container and putting it in for him to eat. He was still just a baby so he didn’t need live just yet.
RD was going to ignore that. Or, well, ignore it as best she could. “I think he kinda liked my leg a bit too much...” At least with him gone, she could get back to work. The stand seemed fixed, so it was just a matter of getting the tree back up, really.
After the mouse was fed she walked back over to them. This was a dare that her classmates had dared her into. She didn’t like it, or well, didn’t want to do it. Her classmates could be cruel. She bit her lip and tugged at her sleeves again and in the softest voice she’s ever made asked the question her desk mate pestered her to ask. “Will you go get coffee with me some time?” There, asked. And now to proceed onto phase two: Hiding behind hair and trying to make herself as small as possible.
Uh. What. Had she seriously just...? RD had to mentally kick herself to get her brain back into gear, searching for the right words to use. “...Uh. Sure. Don’t see why not.”
Fluttershy gave the most adorable and happiest squeak and expression she’s ever made. “Yay!” Clapped her hands together softly before holding at the top hem of her sweater. It then hit that she just asked her on a date and her face turned pale. “Oh my...”
“...You okay?” That wasn’t the usual sort of reaction RD got. Maybe it was just one of those Fluttershy things or something...
“I...uh...” Bit her bottom lip and looked away. “They said for... For me to ask someone... And hinted at this guy... This guy I usually do projects with but I didn’t want to and you were the first person to pop into mind which is weird because you’re a girl and I...” Let out a weird noise and pulled at her hair. She’s obviously more confused than anything.
It wasn’t like there was anything wrong with being gay. RD was kind of used to people flailing about it, though, which was probably a good thing. “Just ‘cause I’m a girl doesn’t mean anything’s different, Fluttershy. Everything stays pretty much the same...”
“You... You don’t” Fluttershy squeaked and stepped back a few paces trying to make herself smaller. “You don’t understand... I.” Bit her lip and backed up even more, and in doing so she toppled over the coffee table. This made her yelp out in pain and startlement and run off to try and get upstairs.
“...Riiiiiight.” RD sighed and decided to just leave that topic. It clearly wasn’t going to be an easy one to deal with or anything... why couldn’t people just accept their inherent gayness and be done with it? It was what she’d done!
She’d managed to make it upstairs, and from behind the wall nearest to them she spoke. “Please go.... I. I don’t need anymore help. ” She needed to be alone with her thoughts. “I’ll... I’ll text you later. P-promise... Just please go.”
