"Wait five days after your sea monkeys hatch to feed them for the first time-" Anakin was leaning over and reading from the back of a sea monkey kit that was on the shelf. He was worried that if he picked up the box, he would disturb the sea monkey eggs, because, apparently, they came in the kit.

"You know, you'd think they'd be hungry right after hatching?" he asked Lily.

This was the perfect way to spend National Sea Monkey Day - adopting sea monkey kits.

Lily had decided to take advantage of their pet store trip to pick Bella up some new toys so she'd had to grab a basket on their way to the sea monkeys. "What would happen if we fed them before then?" She asked, wondering if there was something in the egg that provided the animals with nutrients during that five day period. "Would we end up with super size sea monkeys? Or just really fat ones?"

Not that she would feed them sooner but she had to be a little curious.

Anakin scanned the box, looking for the reason for the five-day warning. But he couldn't find an answer.

"It doesn't say," he said. But then he pulled out his phone.

"To the internets." Because they were of a generation that had learned how to look anything up on the internet.

He typed in what would happen if you overfed your sea monkeys, and...

"Oh, it gets dark," he said, and started reading, "Overfeeding can cause bacteria to multiply in the tank, and once out of control, the bacteria will eat up all the oxygen from the water and your sea monkeys will suffocate and die. Wow-" he paused, "we have to be very careful with feeding them. Who knew they were so temperamental?"

Lily had been prepared for it to be bad but not that bad and she swallowed as she leaned over his shoulder to scan the page he was looking. "And children are normally given these? ...Remind me to never again tease Amycus and Regulus about adopting a dog for their daughters first pet. So we're going to set timers on our phones to remind us to feed them after five days?" She asked, turning her head to look at him.

"How often do we feed them after that?" And she'd need to make sure to find a spot Bella couldn't accidentally get into them. Or knock them over. Yes she could have googled it but he already had his phone out and the box.

"Oh ya, I'll need a timer for sure."

He thumbed the page up to read more.

"Uhmmm... about once a week... Huh... Wow." He looked over at Lily, not at all bothered by her closeness. "I guess these guys digest their food real slowly."

He read some more and then snorted. "It says here you can tell your sea monkeys are full because they are translucent and you can see their digestive tract and if it's a black line, that's their poop."

"Never have I been so glad that I can set an alarm to go off the same day every week." Lily said reading over his shoulder again.

She laughed and shook her head at that. "I'll let you check their digestive tract. I'm going to have to look at enough of those at work. ...Although probably for different reasons then them being translucent." She thought for a moment. "Unless Orange County decides to make people translucent. And no to whatever or whoever is listening that was not a suggestion."

	"Oh no!" Anakin said, voice low and breathless and clearly joking. "You've gone and done it and made us translucent." Though, maybe slightly not joking. Going clear seemed like a strange thing that would happen around here. "I want to be opaque, I don't want anyone to see my..." he glanced at the sea monkey kit. "Intestines." "Well it was probably my turn to do it." Lily teased him. "I mean....I'm blaming the droids on you and Poe. Entirely on you two." She said, trying to keep her face serious but failing after a moment as she laughed quietly.

"I see enough intestines in my text books. I don't want to see them when I look out my window." She said, nose wrinkling at the image that popped up in her head at the thought.

"I didn't bring the droids," Anakin protested, smiling. "Just because they came from my dream universe doesn't mean I brought them."

He really didn't have a defense other than the OC was just pure nonsense and couldn't be blamed on anyone. Which was also a defense for Lily's case, too.

He caught himself smiling a bit too long at Lily and so he turned back to the sea monkeys.

"Okay, so we're both getting kits?"

"Can you prove he didn't though?" Lily teased him. She'd missed him while he was away, it was easier than she'd expected to slip back into their old comfortable routine. And if her eyes stayed on his a little too long well...what could she do? Other than force herself to look back at the box.

"Seems the most logical solution. Since I'm not going to use your buildings deathtrap of an elevator to come check on them if we only get one kit." Or keep them at her apartment which she wouldn't mind. "And I don't know how often your work schedule would let you come visit them at mine..."

On the other hand, Anakin could prove that Poe didn't bring the droids. Lily had a fair point there.

But negative comments about his apartment building, oh hold on now.

"The elevator is safe and works... most of the time," he came to his apartment's defense.

Working for NASA now was a dream come true for Anakin, but it did sometimes involve longer hours than he'd had before. Plus, Lily was working multiple jobs and going to school so her schedule was just as unpredictable as his. If more so.

"We could get those pet cams, to watch them when we're at work," he said, the idea just coming to him.

"And the one time I used it again would be when it stopped working. No thank you. I'll keep using the stairs when I come over to hang out." Lily said, barely resisting the urge to stick her tongue out at him.

"We could. I probably should have for Bella already." She agreed, thinking about it just for a second. "Set it up where the lighting really works for them."
