"Nope, not too long at all." Ben sort of felt like he should stand up and greet her properly, but she sat down before he could. He felt awkward about offering his hand across the table so he didn't. He raked his eyes over her, just casually assessing. She looked rough, maybe even upset.
It seemed like the dream she'd had had really done a number on her. Ben had read about other people having really intense dreams, so he wasn't completely shocked by it. His own had been pretty tame, though. He'd only had one, and it was a birthday party. Where his dad showed up, only he wasn't his dad in the dream, which was weird. But his dad was weird, and his relationship with his dad was weird, so that at least felt consistent.
"I'm glad you mad it," Ben said, eyes softening as he settled back a little. He wanted to be supportive, not creepy. "It's nice to finally meet you in person." He wasn't sure why he included the word 'finally' because it wasn't as if they'd been chatting for any length of time. They'd only just met, via the network.
