They’d talked throughout the days. Some of it about things that had shown up, like the 130 year old escape pod, and the leg brace. Not that either of them knew what in the hell the brace signified. Which is why it had been put into the closet and forgotten about. Well, not forgotten but it had no use. There were other things to worry about. Like telling Madeline about the escape pod. Telling her the truth. That it had just shown up out of nowhere. It had been a part of her dreams. Raven hadn’t expected that to go over well, but it had. She should’ve known that it would. Madeline loved her no matter what. The woman was more a mother to her than her real mother was. Which made it easier to tell her strange things.
Like normal, they’d spent the day together, her and John. Still keeping things a bit light food wise. Even though they could’ve probably gone back to their normal way of eating by now. Sometimes it was better to be cautious than not. It had been a late night for them, almost 3am before they’d fallen asleep. Maybe John had fallen asleep before she had. Honestly, there was no telling. Normally, he woke up before her. Sometimes she woke up before him. It all depended on what they planned to do for the next day.
This morning was a morning that was probably one where she’d sleep in. Where she wanted to sleep in. However, there was a pain shooting through her side. Her eyes not opening just yet. Not realizing just how much blood was coating the side of the shirt that she’d stolen from John the night before. All she knew was that her body was sending signals of immense pain, causing her even in the still slight bit of sleep to reach out and grab a hold of the man sleeping beside her.
John was sleeping fitfully, having a dream of his own. His dream self killed Myles for his part in trying to hang him. And when Jasper caught him in the act, he took Jasper hostage. He traded Jasper for Bellamy, because Bellamy was the one he really wanted. Bellamy had been the one to kick the crate out from under him the day he was hanged. He wanted to make Bellamy feel what he’d felt, and he wanted Bellamy to die. He may have even succeeded, after shooting randomly at the floor when he heard someone underneath them, no doubt trying to figure out a way to rescue Bellamy, John left Bellamy hanging and locked himself on the upper level of the drop ship.
He used a homemade bomb to blow a hole through the side of the drop ship and he took off, leaving the drop ship and the Delinquents behind. He was running for his freedom when he felt Raven in the real world, grabbing hold of him. Her hands pulled him out of sleep, though it took his brain a couple more seconds to make the distinction between dream and reality.
He drew a breath, reached up to rub the sleep out of his eyes. And then he saw the expression on her face, noted the grip she had on him. Something was wrong. His eyes scanned over her body, going wide at the sight of the blood. He jerked upright, hands frantically signing, asking what was wrong, what happened?.
There was so much that had been going on in the dreams. Her trying to convince Bellamy that they couldn't leave their people behind, making landmines, and getting into the dropship through a loose panel in the back. There had even been this whole thing about making more bombs.
Gunshots had even been in the dreams. Something that wasn't good when there was things under the dropship that could make said bombs. The pain was a bit more immense than she thought. She remembered what they'd said in the dream. Murphy had shot her. Not that he knew he had, but he'd shot her.
Everything hurts. Dream me was shot...
Those eyes were fully open now and looking towards him, her hand reaching down to press against her blood soaked side. "Johnny..."
He didn’t want to ask her if she knew who shot her. He had a feeling he knew. He didn’t know he’d hit her in the dream. He’d run off before he found out, but he knew. Because there wasn’t much chance someone else had done it. Fuck.
He shoved that to the back of his mind. He’d deal with that later. Getting her the help she needed was far more important. We need to get you to a doctor. Can you walk? He’d carry her if he had to. Or get Julian That was probably the safer bet. If his brother was even home. He should be, but there was always a chance he wasn’t in his room.
If her boyfriend wasn't going to ask about who shot her, she wasn't going to say. In the dream Murphy had already run off when she'd shown up. Clarke, Bellamy and Octavia had been there. When the dream version of herself had shown up, she even remembered when dream Bellamy had picked her up.
Honestly, she wasn't entirely sure that she could move. "I don't know." She could try to walk, but she doubted that it would really get her very far. "I can try to walk." Even if she didn't want to get up. These dreams really needed to lay the hell off, that's what needed to happen.
No, John shook his head. I’ll carry you. Hold on. Let me get Julian. Or Davina, if Julian wasn’t in his room. John pushed the sheets back and got to his feet. “Don’t move,” he said using his voice and his hands to give her the command.
He all but sprinted across the hall to knock on his brother’s door. “Julian!” he spoke, unaware just how loud and desperate his voice really was. He’d give Julian a few seconds to get up and answer the door before he tried to open it, since obviously he couldn’t hear if Julian responded to him.
"Okay."
John didn't really need to give the command. Not when she didn't want to move to begin with. Moving would probably be a pretty bad idea. Especially with all of the pain she was in. So, while he runs off to get Julian she tries to focus on something else. Anything but how her body was feeling.
Julian hadn't been awake when his brother knocked on the door. He'd still been sound asleep. Though, the sound of John's voice and the way he was knocking on the door has him up and out of the bed in seconds, nearly tripping over his shoes that were beside his bed. When he opens the door, he frowns slightly. What's wrong, Johnny? You sound panicked.
“Raven!” John said. He grabbed his brother’s hand. He could tell Julian was still in the haze of sleep, but there was no time for that now. She had a dream, he explained, but he knew Julian needed more information than that.
She was shot. She’s lost too much blood. There was a lot, on her and on the bed. He really couldn’t judge how much blood she had lost, but she looked pale to him. He released his brother’s hand to reach for Raven’s. She needed him more than he needed the connection to Julian.
Julian's more awake the moment that his twin says that it's Raven. That she'd had a dream. Not that it told him anything. Last time either of these two had a dream, they'd all ended up sick and that's the last thing they all needed. He definitely wasn't ready for that. However, his brother starts going on about her losing blood and being shot. So, when he moves into the room he winces slightly at the sight of the blood. Not that it bothered him.
Raven was close to nearly passing out when John was suddenly by her side again, his hand in the one that she didn't have pressed against her side. There was no way in hell that she was getting up now. Not with how hazy things were.
"Fuck." Julian mutters to himself. How do you want to handle this, John? I can help her some here, but if she's lost that much blood, she's going to need a transfusion.
’
We need to control the bleeding. And call an ambulance. Or take her ourselves. This is why he needed Julian, to help him make the decisions, because he didn’t know what to do. How would they explain that she’d been shot in her dreams? No, they needed a better story than that.
John would worry about that when they were on the way to get her help. Making sure she didn’t bleed out was far more important.
If it wasn't a through and through, we need to try and staunch the bleeding at the very least. As for an ambulance, they might take too long. Depends on what the traffic is like out there. So, we'll take her ourselves. What you need to do, John, is keep her awake. Julian tells him. Don't let her fall asleep.
"Madeline. Someone should..." Raven starts but the pain was causing her brain to go a bit hazy. They needed to keep Madeline in the know. That way she didn't worry. It's not that she was putting her pain aside, but still. She needed them to know. No. Needed her to know. Only her.
I’ll make sure she knows before we leave. And he would. But controlling the bleeding and keeping Raven awake was his priority at the moment. If that upset her and made her argue with him, all the better because that meant she was awake and thinking.
He left the physical aspect of it all to Julian. Whatever his brother told him to do, he’d do it, but he trusted Julian completely. He knew Julian would take care of Raven as surely as he’d take care of John.
You just worry about staying with me, right now.
"You need to tell her now, Johnny." That was one thing that Raven would be adamant about. What if they couldn't tell her before they left? What if there wasn't enough time? She gives a soft sound that even she can't hear even as she watches Julian leave the room for a moment, coming back a moment later with a med kit.
This is going to hurt. Julian tells the both of them, though it was more for Raven's benefit than it was for his brother's. He grabs some of the gauze from the medkit along with some antiseptic to clean the wound, even if he knows that it wasn't going to do much. Moving her hand out of the way, he lifts her shirt and cleans up what he can before finding the entry wound, stuffing the gauze into the wound to staunch the bleeding and taping a piece of gauze over it. How are you two going to explain to my boss that his favorite person got herself shot, huh? Then he looks towards his brother.
Lets get her to the hospital. There's not much more we can do for her here.
Telling Daryl was the least of John’s worries at the moment. He was decidedly more concerned about telling Madeline. Get her to the car, I’ll tell Madeline and Davina what’s going on, and meet you there in a few minutes. He wouldn’t take any longer than he had to, to talk to Madeline and Davina. He didn’t want to take the time at all, but Raven insisted on telling Madeline, and he couldn’t leave Davina in the dark if he was going to tell Madeline.
Once he’d told them both, he rushed out to the car, and slid into the seat beside Raven, once again gripping her hand. He leaned down to kiss her cheek, and mouthed the words ‘I’m here’ to her. He trusted Julian would get them to the hospital as quickly as possible.
Raven can't help but give a bit of a smile to the mention of Daryl. "M'sure we'll figure it out." It's a murmur even as she feels Julian pick her up, talking to her and trying to do everything he could to keep her awake.
Keep her awake, Johnny. Julian tells his brother, seeing John hold her hand through the rearview mirror. A part of him is afraid of breaking speed limits, but at the present time he didn't care. Not when Raven was bleeding out in the backseat of the car. If they got stopped, he's sure he could get them out of it the moment whoever saw Raven. Once to the hospital, though, he looks at her brother. Get her inside. I'll talk to lady at the front desk.
