Who: Billy Kaplan (mentions of Wanda, Blossom and Teddy with players’ permission)
What: Billy sees Teddy get killed and has a power explosion
When: 14th August, early evening
Where: A park surrounded by flying monsters
Rating: PG-13, vague mentions of violence, reference to a PC getting killed
Status: Narrative / Complete
OOC NOTE: Anyone in this radius would have seen the ripples of Billy’s power. And considering he tapped into his Demiurge ability - no matter how briefly - magic users in the OC would be able to feel the ripples.

It happened so quickly, Billy could barely comprehend what was happening in front of him. At some point Wanda had found them too, him and Blossom, and they were watching these creatures wheeling overhead. The three of them made a really efficient team, actually, Wanda and Billy alternated between ground and air, Blossom zipped around the ones that screeched and dove at civilians. They were working on trying to make a safe area when Billy’s spine prickled uncomfortably and his attention moved away from what he was doing to look at the other side of the park.

He saw a flash of blonde hair, a profile that was achingly familiar from his dreams as well as reality and then when he looked up, he saw one of these creatures breaking from its formation, where much of their focus had been on the pink, magenta and blue flashes of power rippling across the park.

Teddy was near the slides. Everything happened in slow motion, he snatched up the crying kid and bolted towards the gate where a human chain was helping injured people and those that couldn’t walk into the safety of a nearby building. Just as he passed the child off, the creature screeched. In an attempt to divert its attention, Teddy grabbed a brick and threw it with unerring accuracy at the monster who instead turned its attention on him.

Billy thought he might have screamed Teddy’s name, but he wasn’t sure. He doesn’t really remember much of anything after watching the creature descend. But anyone who was there would struggle to explain just what happened.

The air around Billy was electrified, the smell of ozone thick and the air hanging like the start of a heavy storm. His whole body glowed blue, blazing like fire in his eyes as his body lifted ten feet into the air, his power licking around him like a deadly electricity storm. Then, in an instant, he went tense and taut and let out a gut-wrenching scream as his energy was released in one powerful wave. It shot out of him like some kind of magical pulse, blue waves in the air and a pentagram above his head. For a mile and a half from his point, the creatures fell out of the air, struggling to handle the overload of foreign power tearing them apart.

Billy, however, saw none of this. With the sudden expenditure of energy, he fell to the ground, limp and unconscious. He didn’t feel the cushioning of telekinetic energy stopping him hitting the ground, or the sounds of his friends calling his name. He didn’t feel Blossom’s arms coming around him as she carried him to safety. Billy was lost in the dark.
