Who: Rapunzel and Elsa
What: Bruni shows up, starts a fire, and Elsa goes down an ice slide out her window
When: Before the fog plot happened

Elsa wanted to surprise Rapunzel with something nice. And she was in a really good mood, too. Maybe it was that Rapunzel had been there for her. Definitely it was that her dreams had continued and she had, in fact, not actually died. It was certainly something worth celebrating.

So she wanted to do something nice before telling her the good news, and then celebrate and while she had plans for some of that celebration that was for later. At night. In bed. Or maybe in a pool. (actually skinny dipping sounded fun)

Before her mind could go off on that tangent, she needed to figure out something that wasn’t sex. Or at least, not just sex, because Rapunzel had become someone much more important to her than just physical release.

But what do you get the woman you love?

Elsa froze, blinking her eyes and turning back to that thought.

Oh.

Oh.

Oh no!

“That wasn’t supposed to happen,” Elsa whispered, looking down at her rats. “Guys, I have a problem.”

And Rapunzel was supposed to come over and she hadn’t even figured out what she wanted to do for her!

And that was when her curtains caught fire. Elsa stared at them dumbfounded, then rushed to put them out with her powers. Only for the flame to jump out the window.

Could that be Bruni? Without thinking, Elsa dove out the window after him, forgetting that she was two stories up. She created an ice slide and slid down it, and nearly ran into her girlfriend.

Rapunzel was expecting to meet up with Elsa so they could just hang out, but she was not expecting to see Elsa to come flying out of a window and then form an ice slide so she didn’t smash her head open. She stopped in her tracks and just let her jaw drop in surprise. What in the heck was actually going on right now?

She managed to move out of the way so they didn’t collide but she reached out to steady Elsa so she didn’t go flying any further. Suddenly there was a tiny lizard running around their legs and it looked like it was on fire. Her eyes stayed wide as she looked at Elsa and then back at the lizard, “Uhhh… what is going on???”

“That’s Bruni,” Elsa gasped, steadying herself on Rapunzel. She created a little snow flurry and pile and Bruni jumped onto it and exhaled in relief as he went out.

Elsa also exhaled in relief, “I was really scared he was going to burn the whole complex down.”

Bruni rolled onto his back and looked at them, licking one of his eyes. At least he wasn’t terrified out of control Bruni any more.

“Bruni? Like the fire salamander from your dreams?” Rapunzel cocked her head as she looked down at the little lizard who was currently licking his eyeball. That was a little gross, but he was absolutely adorable. His color was really neat and Rapunzel was excited for Elsa that this little buddy was here, “He’s so cute. Was he the reason you came flying out of the window?”

“Yes, that’s the one.” Elsa knelt, holding her hand for Bruni to inspect. The little fire spirit tilted his head this way and that before crawling onto her hand. It seemed to have the same effect of cooling him down as the snow did. She stood so that she could introduce them to each other. “I kind of forgot I was on the second floor.”

Smiling sheepishly, she stroked his head, “Bruni, this is my girlfriend Rapunzel. She’s a bit like you, all fiery, like the manifestation of the sun.”

There was more fondness and feeling in her voice than she’d intended, and she cleared her throat.

Bruni stared up at Rapunzel, alert and interested. Elsa teased, “I think he likes you, which is good because I didn’t want to have to choose between you.”

Bruni was definitely more excitable than Pascal was, but it was kind of hilarious how similar the two of them seemed to be when it came to their female companion. She watched him travel into Elsa’s hands and then blushed when Elsa used the word girlfriend and then elaborated upon that and that definitely made her smile. Well, that was a little unexpected.

“Girlfriend, eh? Well, looks like I got upgraded. And you definitely shouldn’t have to choose between a lizard and me because I have Pascal so only fair that you get a little buddy as well,” she looked over at Elsa fondly. She was thankful that Bruni seemed to like her and she reached over to run a finger along his body carefully.

Elsa tucked some hair behind her ear, “I’m… I thought that… I mean was that too much?” She suddenly realized she had no idea of Rapunzel felt the same way, or even wanted that. Though she at least seemed to like the idea of being upgraded. “I’ve been thinking of you like that for a little while now.”

Bruni rolled onto his back, clearly hoping for belly rubs.

Rapunzel couldn’t help but blush a little at Elsa’s confession and she leaned over to kiss the woman in front of her and grinned when she pulled away, “I’m definitely okay with it. I’m not seeing anyone else, nor do I want to, so I’m happy to be your girlfriend. Do you want to be mine?” She may as well ask and confirm with Elsa that they would be exclusive.

Bruni was just too cute and she reached down to give him the belly rubs he obviously wanted. Why were lizards just so darn cute?

Elsa stared at Rapunzel, watching her as she played with the little creature. That was… so very cute and she was kind of dying at it, her heart doing flip flops. And then what Rapunzel was saying kind of sunk in. “Yes! Uh. I mean, I would love to be.”

Oh good, she hadn’t blurted out anything else with the word love in it. Elsa gave herself a mental pat on the back for not fumbling it entirely. As it was she felt like she was floating.

Elsa’s reply made Rapunzel smile brightly as she leaned over to give Elsa another kiss. She let the kiss linger because why not? They had just moved to a new step of their relationship and she was quite happy about it. She did eventually pull away because Bruni was starting to squirm in annoyance that he wasn’t having his belly rubbed. She let out a laugh as she moved to pet Bruni again, “So, now that you’ve got him, what are you going to do with him? Hopefully he doesn’t try to burn your place down.”

Even though they were standing in public, Elsa returned Rapunzel's kiss, sliding her hand down to her hip. Really, she could have stood there forever kissing her. "Uhm. He'll need an aquarium I think. I can coat the bottom in permafrost so he's always cool. He really loves ice and snow." Elsa grinned, and held her fingers above Bruni, brushing out little snowflakes for him to lap up out of the air. "See?"

“Awww, he’s so cute,” Rapunzel cooed as she watched Bruni eat the snowflakes so easily. It was pretty great that he loved that part of Elsa’s powers and the two of them were meant to find each other, “And do you wanna go pick some stuff up now or do something else? I think you might want to get some new curtains as well.” She was pretty flexible with what they did for the rest of the day.

“I was trying to figure out what to do,” Elsa admitted. “I lived in my dreams! And I wanted to celebrate with you. And do something nice for you since you’ve been so supportive and deserve everything I can give you.”

Bruni had waylaid her plans, and she chewed on her lip. There was still that other problem she had to worry about, the whole emotions thing and the way just standing next to Rapunzel made her heart race.

“I had been thinking about baking.”

“You live? Oh, Elsa, that’s amazing news! And that’s so sweet of you, but you don’t have to do anything for me,” Rapunzel gave her new girlfriend a bit of a sappy look. It was very sweet of Elsa to want to pay her back for that, “I’m just glad you weren’t alone when you woke up frozen because I would have been worried sick.”

She reached over to brush some hair behind Elsa’s ear, “We can still bake you if you want. We have the rest of the day even with our unexpected guest.”

“Maybe if we do the baking,” Elsa mused. “Bruni could help!” Technically it would probably be a disaster without even heat but she was an engineer she was sure she could figure something out. She stepped closer to Rapunzel, wanting to run her fingers through her hair and a million more things besides, and then doing just that with one hand.

She wondered if making love to her would feel different now.

Rapunzel wasn’t sure it was the best idea to let the fire salamander help with baking, but they could take it one step at a time and see how it went. She gave Elsa a smile and then gestured for them to head back inside, “Alright, let’s get back inside then. We should probably destroy that ice slide before someone else tries to use it to leave the building.” She doubted it would happen but it would take just one kid who thought it looked fun.

“Good idea.” Elsa waved her hand and the slide melted away to mist and floating snow.

Smiling, Elsa led her back inside, taking her hand and rubbing her knuckles with her thumb as she did so. She just… loved touching Rapunzel so much. There was a comfort to it, in the warmth. Elsa knew she was a heatsink, and she took on that role willingly.
