Who: Poe Dameron & Michael Guerin When: Backdated: Friday, May 15th. Night Where: Navy Base in Seal Beach What: Michael Takes a Turn in the Flight Simulator Rating/Warnings: Mostly Family Friendly Status: Complete
So maybe Poe wasn’t really supposed to be bringing Michael onto the base and letting him use the flight simulator, but he knew hardly anyone would be in that area of the base at night so it was unlikely that anyone would catch them and besides anyone who would be in that area was someone who wouldn’t really care what Poe was doing.
Arriving at the base, Poe parked where he usually did and led the way into the building and towards the hanger where the flight simulators were, “Are you ready for this?”
Michael had no idea if he was supposed to be on the base or not. He assumed not but he also didn’t ask. Though if Poe was sneaking him on, that was pretty damn hot. But Michael definitely wasn’t going to think about what it meant that Poe was doing this for him.
He followed the man inside the hanger, eyes widening a bit at the flight simulators. If he was the type to get intimidated this would definitely do it. “Hell yeah,” Michael said with a sincere amount of confidence.
So maybe a tiny part of Poe was trying to impress Michael, but was there anything wrong with that? They might have just been sleeping together, but Poe still considered Michael a friend and he liked doing things for his friends like sneaking them on Navy bases in the middle of the night to teach them how to fly. “The flight simulator is pretty cool, but it’s nothing like flying an actual plane. Hopefully you’ll get to move onto that at some point.” He glanced back at Michael as he turned a few things on then slipped off the light brown leather jacket that he’d gotten from the dreams that morning and set it over a chair. He’d actually been surprised to see it since he had given it to Finn in his last set of dreams.
“I’ll set it to an easier simulation though for your first time. Don’t want you crashing into things.” Poe smirked and pressed a few buttons to set the difficulty of the simulator. He was looking forward to seeing how Michael did in the cockpit.
Michael genuinely enjoyed Poe’s company. It wasn’t just about sex with him. Which was probably part of why Michael kept coming back. They did other things, like build a space ship and now Poe was teaching him how to fly. Could the guy be any more awesome? But Michael pushed thoughts like that aside. Focussing on the task at hand.
“This how you learned?” Michael asked climbing into the seat for the simulation. “What happens if I crash?” Obviously that would be bad if he was flying an actual plane but he still wanted to know how it worked for the simulation.
Once Michael was seated in the simulator, Poe came around to stand beside him, “Yeah, but I learned over ten years ago so our simulators weren’t quite a state of the art as this one.” Sure, it was mostly just a computer system, but computers changed so quickly that things were a lot different than when he’d learned, “If you crash, the screen will flash red and it’ll say, Failed in big letters across the screen,” Poe said, spreading his hands up in front of his face to demonstrate how the word would appear, “But on easy it shouldn’t be too hard. Do you need some sort of motivation to keep you from crashing?” He asked, a flirty smirk crossing his lips as he watched Michael.
“Aging yourself, Dameron,” Michael quipped a smirk on his face. Though it was slightly impressive that Poe had been flying for so long. Hot even. Especially when Michael tried to picture him in his uniform.
“Depends,” Michael began, smirk still present. “What kind of motivation are we talking about?”
“Hey, I’m not that much older than you.” As far as Poe was concerned, he didn’t feel much older than he had in his twenties unlike some friends he had who constantly talked about how they were getting so old when they were the same age as him.
“Well…” Poe leaned into the makeshift cockpit a little, “Maybe for every time you don’t crash, I could take off an article of clothing.” He quirked a brow, smirk upon his lips as he watched Michael.
“Whatever you say, grandpa,” Michael joked. He didn’t mind that Poe was a little bit older. He didn’t really notice it most of the time. Only when he made comments about how old the tech was when he learned or something else along those lines.
Michael briefly chewed on his bottom lip. With Poe leaning close like that, he needed to do something to resist the urge to kiss the guy. “And how am I supposed to keep myself from crashing once you start removing clothing?” Michael replied. “Is the point to teach me to fly while highly distracted?”
Poe laughed and nodded, “You do have a point there. I have been told that I can be highly distracting when I’m naked.” Which Michael was fully aware of by now considering how long they had been sleeping together now. “Alright, I’ll save the stripping till later.” He winked then leaned back just a little so that he could get a better look at the instruments in the cockpit then gave Michael a quick rundown of them all, “Got all that?”
“Or anytime,” Michael replied grinning. “But the lack of clothing adds a whole other level of distraction.”
He watched as Poe went over all the instruments. It was a lot to take in. Thankfully Michael usually picked things up pretty quick. Hopefully flying wouldn’t be any different. “Yeah,” he replied once Poe was done explaining. “At least I think so. Guess we’ll find out.”
“Well you’re not wrong.” Poe enjoyed flirting with Michael because the other man flirted right back with him, but at the same time Poe knew when to tone it down, “Alright. Time to get this thing started.” If Poe didn’t start Michael’s simulation then chances were good that he’d continue flirting and Michael would never get the chance to do what they had come here to do.
Stepping back, Poe moved back to the computer and pressed a few more buttons, the screen and buttons coming to life inside the simulation, “Alright. It should start up right...now.” Moving so that he could watch Michael, Poe grabbed a tablet which would display Michael’s progress.
As much as Michael was enjoying the flirting. He knew what it would lead to. Which he also wasn’t opposed to. Far from it. But later. Right now he wanted to learn how to fly. So he’d save the flirting and what came with it for later.
The simulation started and Michael did his best to fly, using all the instruments like Poe told him too. He lasted about ten minutes before crashing, looking over at Poe with a sheepish smile. “Please tell me that wasn’t the worst you’ve seen.”
Poe watched, impressed with how well Michael did for a beginner. When Michael finished, Poe shook his head, chuckling, “Trust me, I’ve seen worse. You at least got off the ground. You’d be surprised how many people can’t even get off the ground their first time and end up crashing on the runway.” He pressed a few buttons on the computer, “Wanna go again? Maybe you can last fifteen minutes this time.” He teased, smirking.
“I’m a quick learner,” Michael replied with a grin, proud that he had done better than most. And yeah it didn’t hurt that he was probably impressing Poe in the process as well. “Yeah,” Michael agreed, he was enjoying learning how to fly. “But I hope you’re keeping a tally in your head of all the clothing you’re going to have to take off later.”
