Sam had dropped Jesse off with his mom, and had gone to the coffee shop to meet Clary. He probably shouldn't be so casual about meeting someone from the network, but he wasn't terribly worried. She seemed like a nice girl. And even if she wasn't, well. He could take care of himself.
He went inside and looked around, but didn't see her. Well, he didn't see anyone alone who seemed to be waiting for someone to show, so he assessed and assumed she wasn't there yet. He took a seat near the door to wait, and if she didn't show no big. He'd eventually get a drink and head home to check on the new puppy anyway.
