He waited, soothing Katie, soothing Jotnar, while Sif took care of getting the bridle off, and took care of tying Katie to the crossties; just because he'd ridden her briefly, it didn't follow that she wasn't going to take a nip at him if he tried to touch her mouth, after all!
Of course, as soon as Katie was in the crossties, before Sif had finished putting the bridle away, Loki had one of Katie's forward hooves in his hand, tucked up against his leg, so he could check it for stones.
No, he didn't think she would have picked one up on the generally stone-free hallway, dirt-packed or not, or in the indoor ring, but that didn't mean it wasn't important to check anyway.
