"Well, I'm glad you were there." Otherwise he wasn't sure where he'd be. Dead maybe, or hiding at the very least. Not enjoying the diner ambiance and anticipating a cheeseburger and fries. He didn't really want to think about it; he'd rather just be grateful that she had been there, and that she had taken him in.
