Every time Daisy went to bed, she feared getting a new Dream. Even the possibility of dozing off in the middle of the day frightened her. She didn't like the direction her Dreams were going in. And considering her last Dream had ended with Ward taking her prisoner? Yeah, she didn't want to know what would come of that. And yet she couldn't stay awake forever, no matter how much caffeine she drank. So eventually, she fell asleep, but it wouldn't be a peaceful sleep.
Skye finally met her father face-to-face, and she found out the truth about her mother. Whitehall hadn't just killed her, he'd dissected her. But that wasn't even the half of what was contained in her Dream. Ward got free and set her free. That's when Skye took her chance and shot Ward. Which, in retrospect, definitely felt good. But any good feelings she might've had from shooting the asshole were grossly overshadowed by everything that happened after she got away from him. Raina had gone into the underground alien city with the Diviner, so Skye had taken it upon herself to go after her with the intent of stopping her from doing whatever it was she was going to do. However, things didn't go exactly to plan.
Once she'd found Raina, trying to stop her went out of her head once the woman started talking about how this was their destiny. Skye, however, wasn't a believer in destiny. And yet there was a part of her that was curious about what was going to happen. Knowing what she did about the things Coulson and other TAHITI patients and what they saw in their heads made her want to know what all of this had been for. And maybe, just maybe, Skye needed to know if the theory that she was an alien was actually true. After all, the Diviner hadn't killed her, and that alone tripped some curiosity. And backed up what her father had said about her mother being special. Perhaps there was truth there, and Skye kind of wanted to know.
What she hadn't prepared for was for Tripp to slip into the temple at the last second before it was sealed off. And then it happened. After the Diviner opened and did its thing, Raina and Skye started to turn to stone. Skye reached out for Tripp and called his name before she was fully engulfed in stone. Then Tripp turned to stone, and as the stone started to crack and break away from her, Skye saw him. She broke out of her stone shell, an earthquake unleashing itself and causing the underground city to start to collapse. And Tripp was dead, shattered into pieces by the earthquake.
Skye startled awake and she leapt out of bed, running her hands over herself, checking for any trace of stone. "Tripp," she whispered as emotions started to hit her. And that's when she saw it. The Diviner was sitting on her bedside table. "No, no. No no no no!" Her heart rate started to pick up and that's when she started to feel something. She was starting to turn to stone and she lifted her hands, looking at them.
"Shit, no, this can't be happening," she managed to ramble out as the stone covered her from head to toe, turning her into a living statue. She was only frozen in the stone for a few moments, and then it started cracking. And as she broke free of it, an earthquake erupted out from her, shaking the apartment building and the earth itself around the area. It was enough to be felt, but no actual damage was done. All the damage done was to Skye's emotions and mental state, and the furniture in her bedroom. The damage in her bedroom being due to the wave of energy that blew the stone shards away from her. Beyond that, the surrounding area didn't suffer any damage.
The weird thing was that Skye didn't feel different than she had before, but she was scared. And devastated at Tripp dying because she knew it was her fault. He was dead because of her. Unable to handle that thought, Skye collapsed to her knees and started sobbing. She couldn't handle everything that had just happened, and she didn't even know what exactly had happened to her in that temple. All she knew was that Raina had talked about destiny, Tripp was dead, and she might actually be an alien. Or something. She didn't know, and she didn't care.
Right now, she was in mourning over Tripp and couldn't shake the knowledge that his death was her fault. No matter what anyone would say, he was dead because of her, and she'd carry that guilt with her for a while.
