Who: Lara and Bo with Logan at the beginning
What: Dealing with minor injuries and emotional upheaval after meeting Carly
When: After this
Where: Croft Manor
Warnings: High for sexual content, also emotional discussions over Carly looking like Lauren from Bo's Dreams

All things considered, Bo had held herself together rather well after meeting Carly who was a dead ringer for Lauren. She definitely had emotional turmoil going on inside, but she’d remained calm outwardly. Of course, the concussion and the cut to her leg had done well to keep her attention mostly focused on those aspects rather than the fact Carly looked exactly like her Dream girlfriend.

After getting into the Nightcrawler without further incident, she called Lara for a ride, again had thanked Carly for her help, said her goodbyes, then headed back to Logan’s office. Her headache was getting worse and the noise in the bar was only helping to intensify the pain there. She half-limped to the office, as her leg still stung where she’d gotten cut by the guy’s knife. But the wound was cleaned and bandaged, and aside from the bruise that was forming and becoming more noticeable on her cheek where she’d been punched, she had no other visible wounds. Except possibly a bump on the back of her head where it had smacked the cement. But there was no blood there, thankfully.

“Logan, you here?” She wasn’t sure where he was, or if he’d been out in the bar somewhere. Honestly, her brain could only handle so much information right now, and it was stuck on three specific things right then, getting home to Lara for healing, the throbbing pain in her head, and Lauren had a double. Everything else just slipped on by.

Logan was sitting at his desk, leaning back in his chair and drinking a beer. He stiffened when Bo came in, squinting at her though he made no move to get up. “...you okay, darlin’?”

One of his eyes squinted shut entirely, and he grunted. A moment later, a young woman crawled out from under the desk. She blushed scarlet, pulled a top on and quickly rushed out of the office.

Under normal circumstances, Bo would be affected by Logan having someone in there with him. But right now, she wasn’t exactly in her right mind. And she was getting drowsy, but she wasn’t supposed to fall asleep. She gave the girl an apologetic little smile but didn’t focus on her much. She was more focused on not falling over and getting to a chair to sit down. She seriously hoped they hadn’t had sex on the chair she sat down on, but she also didn’t really care at the moment.

“Sorry about the intrusion,” she apologized. “And no, I’m not okay. I can’t do my shift today. I saw some asshole trying to mug a woman about a block down and I involved myself. The guy didn’t make it out looking pretty either, but by a stroke of luck an off-duty paramedic just happened to be going by and she helped me. But yeah. I already called Lara to come pick me up. Kind of have a concussion.”

“Been caught doin’ worse.” Logan got up from the desk, adjusting his belt as he did so. Bo looked like shit and he immediately focused on that. He carefully touched her chin, moving her head to get a better look at her face, then knelt to look at her leg. “This cut is pretty bad. Ain’t sure you should wait for Lara to at least get it to clot.”

“It’s fine, Logan. Lauren cleaned it and bandaged it.” Bo suddenly stopped herself. “Shit, not Lauren. Carly. Carly was the paramedic’s name.” Bo grimaced and was going to play off the slip of Lauren’s name being due to her concussion and not the fact she was having all the emotional crap tied up in Lauren from her Dreams churning inside of her.

If a conversation about Lauren was going to happen, it would be with Lara in the privacy of their own home. Not here where other employees could come in and see Bo’s dramatic display that would undoubtedly happen once she got started.

“Besides, it’s a cut, didn’t need stitches. I wasn’t stabbed or anything.” Though Bo was sort of wishing she’d been stabbed right now. Or just unconscious. Unconscious sounded amazing but she needed to stay awake.

Logan raised both of his eyebrows but didn’t call attention to Bo’s slip up, though he was suddenly intensely curious as to why. There were a number of things that he knew Bo wasn’t capable of handling but they were few and far between.

Lara could take care of that, he hoped.

“Just checkin’, Bo. Don’t need anyone bleedin’ out on my floor again”.

“Pretty sure she would’ve forced me to the hospital if it was that bad. She was good at her job.” Bo said. And she hadn’t know if the woman was a Dreamer or not, so she obviously had kept the whole succubus healing ability secret.

“Oh, before I forget. I told the asshole to never come near here again.” She then gave Logan a description of the guy so he could keep an eye out. And potentially get his own hero on, since she knew he didn’t like those kinds of people either.

“I’ll let the other employees know,” Logan agreed. Anyone who’d mug someone this close to the bar wasn’t welcome, and was lucky to walk away at all. It made him angry just thinking about it. His head turned towards the front of the bar. “Lara’s here. Let me escort you out, darlin’.”

“Thanks.” It was the type of guy that wasn’t welcome around here. And if Bo had been a bit more prepared for the altercation, he would’ve gotten out a lot worse than he had. She nodded a bit. “Thanks. I’ll swap shifts with someone to make up for the last-minute change.” She managed to get to her feet easily enough, but her head was starting to kill her. And the bruise on her cheek was getting more noticeable as well.

“If you’re lucky,” Logan said, taking her by the elbow and guiding her out. “Lara ain’t gonna kill you.”

Though judging by the mixture of concern and outrage on Lara’s face, death might still be in the cards. “What the fuck, Bo?”

Lara killing her hadn’t even crossed her mind yet. Mostly it was too preoccupied with other things to consider that. And her head hurt too much to think too hard about anything. Though the look on Lara’s face sobered her, and made her feel a bit guilty.

“I’m sorry,” she said, deciding to not try and excuse her injuries at the present moment. Sometimes it was a negative to be the bleeding heart hero.

Lara stared at her a moment, then sighed, shoulders sagging as her worry overcame her anger. “Don’t be, I’m sure you have a good enough excuse.”

She grabbed for Bo’s hand, and carefully led her out to the land rover. She’d put a towel on the seat to soak up any blood, almost like she’d been prepared for that.

At the moment, Bo wasn’t completely certain is she had a good enough excuse for ending up hurt. Maybe next time she’d just ignore the sounds of someone getting mugged and walk the other way.

She wouldn’t, no matter how much she might try to force herself to, she could never just walk away when someone was in trouble. Even if it would save her a lot of grief and save Lara from killing her.

And of course Lara had been prepared, but there had been no need. She wasn’t bleeding, and the bandage on her thigh was doing its job. She silently got in the car, immediately wanting to close her eyes, but knowing she shouldn’t. It could lead to her falling asleep and Carly had been insistent she not fall asleep.

“I’m still sorry,” she said after the were both in the Land Rover.

“It’s okay, I shouldn’t have snapped.” Lara shook her head, feeling guilty for making Bo feel guilty for no real reason but her own irritation at the situation. SHe started the car, paying little heed to traffic laws as she pulled out. something Logan never does

“What happened?”

Bo propped her elbow on the arm rest and rubbed her forehead a little. Her head felt like it was going to explode, though not literally. Or so she hoped.

“I was sitting and taking in the nice weather before going in for my shift. Heard sounds of a struggle, so I went to investigate. Found some asshole trying to mug a woman, so I stepped in. Typical stupid on my part.” Bo knew it wasn’t smart, but it was who she was. And she’d at least saved that woman from getting hurt.

Lara pursed her lips as Bo spoke, wondering why she had expected any different, and knowing that she probably would have done the same. She glanced at Bo out of the corner of her eyes. “I can’t say I’d have done bloody well different, and I think we both know that.”

Maybe she’d have been smarter about it but then Lara could be a little stupid when it came to getting into fights over her head. Her most recent dreams had told her that, even if she hadn’t figured out how to talk about them just yet.

“Yeah, but you might’ve at least tried to think things through rationally first instead of just charging in head-first.” Bo had a terrible habit of charging into things head-first like that. But she was definitely one who was ruled by her heart, not her head, and she always followed her heart. Even when it got her hurt.

She took a slow breath and closed her eyes, leaning her head against the window. All she saw when she closed her eyes was Carly’s face, which only served to hit on the Lauren issues she had.

“Fight smarter not harder,” Lara suggested, reaching over and putting her hand on Bo’s knee. She squeezed it lightly, then rubbed it. “Sorry I was snippy. I just worry.”

Like right now, with the way Bo seemed to be holding back something akin to a panic attack.

“It’s fine, I know I deserved it for being stupid.” Because it was stupid to just rush in like that. Bo was definitely still wishing that she was unconscious because it would be a lot easier to deal with right now.

“No one deserves to be hurt. If you were human, some of these injuries could be life threatening.” Lara pulled into the garage, getting out of the vehicle, coming around the side, and practically hauling Bo out of it and carried her inside. “Now let me dote you.”

“I hardly think a concussion and a cut would kill me if I were human.” It wasn’t like Bo was completely beaten up or had been stabbed. Though she’d probably be worse off being human since she couldn’t instantly heal herself like she could now. Bo didn’t fight Lara carrying her inside. Her head hurt too much to do anything. Even thinking was getting difficult.

“Okay,” she said to Lara wanting to dote on her. Which she also wouldn’t fight. As long as it helped distract her from thinking about Lauren’s twin sister, Bo didn’t care what Lara did.

“You might not have gotten away with only those hurts,” Lara pointed out. Carefully, she carried her to the downstairs bathroom and the majestic tub therein.

To be fair, both bathrooms had massive tubs.

She set Bo on the edge and proceeded to strip her down so she could check the injuries. “Whoever helped you does good work.”

Bo shrugged a shoulder. She hadn’t used any of her superhuman abilities in the fight, and she was used to street fighting in a sense from her years of drifting from place to place. She knew how to fight and where to hit a guy to take him down quickly. But it remained to be seen if that would’ve been enough to save her if she’d been a human.

At the mention of who had helped her, Bo closed her eyes for a moment and nodded. “Yeah. She was a paramedic, so she knew what she was doing.” And obviously would’ve sent Bo to a hospital if she’d thought it had been necessary.

“Good. I’m glad she was on hand.” Lara looked up from Bo’s leg. “Did you get her name? We could send her a card.”

“So am I,” Bo noted. Of course, she still could’ve easily gotten to the Nightcrawler had Carly not been there, but she would’ve been bleeding and caused Logan to fuss over her far more than he actually had. “Lauren. Fuck, no. Carly. Her name was Carly.” Bo corrected, mentally smacking herself again. She rubbed her forehead a bit, really hating how Lauren’s name kept coming out of her mouth so easily when that hadn’t even been the woman’s name.

Lara stiffened, looking up at Bo’s face again, both of her eyebrows disappearing into her hair again. “I’m sorry what?”

Bo felt panic grip her, and her heart was beating so hard she could feel it in her head. “Her name is Carly.” She closed her eyes again, the pounding in her head only intensifying the pain. And she was trying not to panic. Or burst into tears.

Honestly, she didn’t know which response she’d have.

Slowly, Lara touched Bo’s face, then her chin and tipped it up so she would be looking at her when next she opened her eyes. Her voice was gentle, like Bo was an easily startled and injured animal. “Why did you say Lauren?”

Bo didn’t know if this was going to devolve into an argument or if she was going to have an emotional meltdown. It wasn’t Carly’s fault, of course, and Bo was better off for the paramedic having been there. But she really could’ve done without seeing Lauren’s face.

When she opened her eyes and found herself looking at Lara, she tried to clamp down on the swell of emotion within her, but her eyes started to gloss over with tears.

“Because she looked exactly like Lauren from my dreams.”

“Oh.” Lara frowned, thinking of that woman on the network with her face. And there’d been one with Bo’s for awhile. She hadn’t really tried to think about it too heavily, but she could imagine how it must feel for Bo. There was unfinished business for her and Lauren.

And Lara hated Lauren even though she’d never met her. “I understand that must be..difficult.”

“You could say that. It’s like seeing someone who looks like an ex of yours, but when you look in their eyes, you know it’s not them. But there’s still enough of a resemblance that it’s unsettling.” Which was putting it mildly. Bo had long been resigned to being the only person from her Dreams here. So to suddenly and unexpectedly see someone who looked like Lauren? It was incredibly jarring.

“I believe it.” Lara was disquieted. How would she feel if she ran into someone who looked like Sam? Or … whatever his name was, from some dreams ago. His face floated into her vision but the name eluded her. She guessed he really didn’t matter all that much in the end.

“Yeah,” Bo said with a little nod. She then gripped the edge of the tub tighter, to the point that the material the tub was made from made the equivalent sound of a groan. If she gripped it any harder, the tub would break. But Bo managed to let go and put her hands in her lap so she wouldn’t go destroying anything just because she was having Emotions.

“Look at it this way. You don’t actually have to see her again. It’s a reminder sure, but one we can shrug off. It doesn’t mean Lauren is actually going to show her face.”

And if she did, Lara wouldn’t be responsible for her actions.

“I know. But it doesn’t mean that every time I look at Carly I won’t see Lauren instead.” Of course, it would be something that Bo could work through if she crossed paths with Carly enough. So long as Carly’s personality was different from Lauren’s, she could differentiate between them easily enough. But it would take time and repeated contacts to not have ‘oh god it’s Lauren’ be her initial reaction to seeing Carly.

“Planning on looking at her all that often?” Lara said, a soft smile on her lips. “Do I need to be jealous?”

She hoped that teasing Bo would help keep her from becoming melancholy and potentially curb some kind of nervous breakdown. And assuring Bo that she wasn’t going to worry about it, herself.

“Because I’m not.”

“No, I’m not.” If Bo had her way, she wouldn’t cross paths with Carly again. Though she logically knew that the paramedic would probably try to find a way to check up on her later and make sure she was doing well. Concussions, even minor ones, were nothing to sneeze at, after all.

“I’m not even sure if she was a Dreamer or not.” Bo had talked to a Carly on the network before, but her head was both hurting too much and focused on other things to draw that connection.

“If she’s not a dreamer that will make things simpler,” Lara agreed. The tub had been filled by now and she motioned for Bo to get into it, before starting to strip herself. “In the meanwhile, you need some Chi, because I’m not going to deal with a cranky recovering succubus, thank you very much.”

Her eyes glinted at Bo as she stood up and let her trousers drop down.

Bo nodded a bit, knowing things would be simpler if Carly wasn’t a Dreamer. Not just for Carly’s own sake because Dreams weren’t always good things, but crossing her path would be more limited. In theory.

However, whatever Bo’s train of thought had been was instantly derailed as Lara started taking her clothes off. “Can’t say I blame you, I can be difficult when I’m cranky,” Bo retorted, her eyes following Lara’s pants as they fell to the ground. When she lifted her gaze back up to Lara’s face, her eyes turned blue. She then went about taking the bandage on her leg off. It had stopped bleeding, and it might sting a bit when she got in the water, but it would heal instantly with the first hit of chi she got, so she didn’t pay it any mind.

With the train thoroughly wrecked, Lara helped Bo into the water, and then climbed in after her; and on top of her. She kissed her wife languidly, trying to convey with her lips and her hands just how worried she’d been, and also that it was okay. Bo was damn near everything to her and she never wanted Bo to feel bad about who she was and that she liked to help people.

There was a little feeling of discomfort as Bo got in the water, but it was quickly pushed aside as Lara got in after her and got on top of her. Bo kissed her back, easily settling into the kiss. She slid a hand to the back of Lara’s head and held her close as she wrapped her other arm around Lara’s back, holding her closer against her. While she felt the need to feed, the swell of emotion in her was so strong that she felt some tears sting her eyes as she kissed Lara a little more ardently.

If there’d been room for air or words, Lara would have told Bo she loved her. Instead she spoke with her mouth and her tongue and in the way she cupped Bo’s face. Was it possible to emotion-feed as well as feed on sexual energy? Lara wanted to find out.

Bo got the message loud and clear, using her own hands and mouth convey her love for Lara. She didn’t know if she could feed on emotions the way that she could feed on sexual energy, but she’d definitely give it a try. She also needed a release, and this connection with Lara.

She kissed Lara deeply for some moments before she finally took the first hit of chi. The cut on her thigh healed and disappeared, and the bruising and swelling on her cheek began to fade, as did the pounding in her head. Her physical injuries didn’t require sex in order to be healed, but the unseen wounds her Dreams had left required that extensive healing. She needed Lara’s love more than anything, and it was leaving her emotionally raw.

Groaning, Lara straddled Bo fully, drawing back once or twice to keep Bo’s feeding slow. Usually she trusted her, but they were both feeling emotionally raw, so it was like tapping the breaks a little for both of them.

Because Lara loved the way it felt to be fed upon.

With one hand, she guided Bo’s between her legs. WIth the other she kneaded and squeezed at her breasts, moving her thumb against her nipple in time to the pounding of her heart.

Tapping the breaks was a good thing. While Bo tended to be in control of herself, sometimes too much so because she feared losing control, right now she was paying less attention to that. Mostly it was the concussion talking, so losing control and taking too much was a real danger.

She groaned, pressing into Lara’s touch, wanting more of it. As soon as Lara guided her hand between her legs, Bo’s fingers went to work. She rubbed a finger along Lara’s clit tenderly and yet with purpose behind it. She loved touching her, and she wanted to give Lara as much pleasure as she possibly could.

“I love you.” The words came out more a moan than anything else, emotions cluttering up inside her chest like so many butterflies. They’d been together how long and Bo could still make her feel like this? Lara tilted her head back, rolling her hips slowly as she pulled Bo’s face against her chest and momentarily lost herself in the feel of her wife.

Those three little words sent a fresh wave of emotion through her. Not for the first time, Bo knew just how lucky she was to have Lara in her life. As Lara pulled her face to her chest, instead of vocalizing her love, she showed it in how she touched Lara. She trailed her mouth and tongue along Lara’s chest. The movement of her fingers between Lara’s legs were languid and loving caresses. Her other arm wrapped snugly around Lara’s back, pulling her closer against her, craving the feeling of skin against skin.

Or, to be more precise, wet skin against wet skin considering they were in the bathtub.

Lara’s orgasm washed over her in waves, flooding her senses. God, but she loved this, the scent and taste and feel of her wife. The slickness of their skin together, the sounds that she was no longer certain which of them were making. Lara’s lowered her head, gazing into Bo’s eyes with her own turned so dark to almost black.

If she wasn’t already married to Bo she’d beg her to marry her. As it was, she was doing a lot of begging just then.

Bo loved pleasuring Lara, and she loved the feeling of being close to her and rubbing against her. She lifted her head from Lara’s chest and gazed up into her eyes, the darkened hue of them turning her on even further, and she groaned. Her eyes were electric blue, a stark contrast from Lara’s dark eyes.

“I love you,” she managed to say, liking the begging that Lara was doing. And, well, her fingers definitely didn’t stop working their magic on Lara. She leaned in and kissed Lara again, deep and heatedly, for several moments before she broke it to take another hit of chi. Luckily their sexual energy was serving to help heal her, though not to the extent the chi did.

“Please,” Lara gasped, then repeated the word until it became a mantra, rising in pitch and volume with every stroke of Bo’s fingers. Lara came again, harder this time, when Bo took a hit of her Chi, that delicate balance between pain and pleasure that sometimes made Lara wonder if she wasn’t just a little masochistic.

As Lara had a second orgasm, Bo slowed the movement of her fingers, but didn’t quite stop moving them. Her fingers on Lara’s back pressed into it a bit. She was feeling better now, her head being clearer now. After taking the hit of chi, Bo leaned in and pressed some soft kisses to Lara’s neck before she pressed her face into her neck.

Moving would not be easy for Lara, not for quite awhile. She felt like water, all fluid and loose, melting against Bo and holding her face against her neck like she was trying to mold them together into one being. Slowly, she rocked her hips as she came down, repeating a low, soft moan, over and over again. “God…”

Bo wouldn’t mind Lara not moving for a while. After Lara came down, Bo finally pulled her hand away from between Lara’s legs and wrapped that arm around her back as well. She nuzzled her face against Lara’s neck before pressing some soft kisses against it. “Fuck, I love you,” she murmured against Lara’s neck.

Lara managed to completely fail in the words she was trying to say, instead sighing in contentment and nuzzling back at her wife. They’d managed to flood most of the bathroom and she didn’t particularly care at the moment. If anything it was kind of a badge of honor. A sign of victory.

Probably also the same reason she started to cry.

It was definitely emotion-inducing. Of course, Bo had been emotional ever since she’d first set eyes on Carly. It brought up all the complicated emotions and other crap related to Lauren from the Dreams. So once again, she buried her face in Lara’s neck, clinging to her as she, too, started crying. She couldn’t hold it back anymore, and it was honestly amazing that she’d held it in this long. But now she was open and vulnerable and it was all going to come out.

“Bo?” Lara managed to ask, swallowing a lump in her throat and ignoring the fresh tears that were streaking down her face. As though Bo were more important than her own emotions or feelings. She pulled her head back, just a little, and stroked Bo’s cheek.

Now that she’d started crying, she couldn’t stop. Bo felt rather stupid crying over her Dreams yet again, but she had been holding a lot of the Lauren stuff inside. She sniffed and looked at Lara, the tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to start crying,” she said, voice hitching with a sob. Though in reality, who ever meant to start crying?

“It’s okay.” Lara wiped at Bo’s face, and then her own. She managed a smile. “It’s…. it’s been a day.”
