Who: Hermione Granger What: Dream Where: Her flat, her bedroom, her bed When: EARLY Saturday morning Rating: Low Status: Complete
It was perhaps the first cool night of the fall. A welcome change from the heat they'd been experiencing, and Hermione had gotten out extra blankets for herself and for Ron if he ever decided to crash on her couch again. Truth was, she missed him like crazy. It felt like a piece of her was gone when he wasn't there. She didn't want to admit it to herself or to anyone else. Especially since she had a boyfriend. Sorta. She wasn't sure if he was exactly that, but...
Anyway, she'd gone to bed last night after playing World of Warcraft. After finishing all of her homework for the next week and a half, she decided she could use a little break, and she opened up the game. It was rather addictive, and before she knew it, she'd been playing for several hours. Then it was time to crawl into bed and crash.
Hermione slept hard. When she started to dream and rolled over, she had crease marks on the side of her face from her pillowcase. A slightly lighter sleep overcame her, and the dream started in earnest.
They were outside the castle. Hermione was distraught, something terrible had just happened. Someone had died. Unjust. Ron was struggling with something. A rat. Harry tried to help, Hermione tried to help, but the rat bit his finger. There was a huge tree that was smashing things--a Willow--and Crookshanks was there to help them. Then a huge Grim showed up. A big, black dog. They all went into the tunnel after Ron and the dog.
It was Sirius Black! The dog! An Animagus! Hermione rushed to Ron's side with his broken leg, they were disarmed, Crooksanks wouldn't stop protecting Black, and Lupin was there. Professor Lupin disarmed them! He's a werewolf!
Hermione started to mumble in her sleep. "He's a werewolf," she cried out after a few moments. "He's friends with Black!"
But Professor Lupin insisted there was more to the story, and begged them to listen. Hermione got her wand back and held it, not sure what to do.
Then it ended. It'd come on slowly, not suddenly, but the ending was abrupt. Hermione's eyes flew open. Who was Peter Pettigrew? And she'd seen Sirius Black and Remus Lupin on the internet message boards. God, this was all so strange!
