When: Sometime in June
Where: Farmer's market
Rating/Warnings: Pretty low!

There was something about farmer’s markets that Padme loved.
She didn’t think she was a hipster , per se. She’d always loved seeing what people could do with their own hands, away from corporations. Sure, it was pricey to have a bar of soap shaped like an ice cream cone, but it was worth it.
Plus, it amused her to bring these oddly expensive, and completely useless things over to Anakin’s. Especially useless bath things -- or at least, useless to him. She wasn’t about to use whatever horrible shampoo he had when she was over. Her curls would be useless if she did.
At the current time, she was looking at some bees wax lip gloss when she was suddenly jostled by a young teen. The boy looked sorry, and even though she kept saying she was fine, he helped her put things into her purse. Heaving the large purse back on her shoulder, she looked at him as he walked away before shrugging and going back to perusing lip gloss.
Maybe cranberry-pomergranate was a better option than cherry-watermelon.
Or maybe strawberry-kiwi...oh the options.
These days Liv was always on the look out for crime. It could strike at any moment after all. So even at the farner’s market where she was trying to enjoy herself. Pick out some fresh fruits to mix with her brains. A nice brain and fruit smoothie. Yeah, that sounded good.
Liv was in the middle of examining a peach when something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She turned just as a teenager was messing with a woman’s purse and then walking away.
Oh hell no. Not on Liv’s watch.
The zombie sprang into action. “Don’t worry ma’am,” she told the lady as she ran by. “I’ll catch him!”
Before Padme could respond, the pale-haired woman was chasing the teen down, who was apparently spooked enough to run even harder. She was stunned into silence, gripping her purse a bit tighter.
“What’s going on?,” the vendor asked Padmé, peering down to see the chase.
Padme shook her head. “I have no idea...did he do something?” It then occurred to Padmé that the other woman was speaking to her . Why would Padme want the boy caught? Did she think something happened?
Peering into her purse, she frowned as she stirred the items around but nope, everything was there: lip gloss, wallet, cell phone, car keys, some snacks, a couple of pens, a notepad… she racked her brain. No, she hadn’t brought anything else nor had she bought anything yet.
She’d just ignore what was going on. That was probably safer.
Liv chased down the guy and brought him back to the woman she assumed he had stolen from. “Here you go ma’am,” she said with a confident smile. “Now give her back what you took,” she demanded to the young, terrified teenage boy.
“I-I-“ the boy stammered. “I didn’t take anything! I swear,” he looked from Liv to the other woman eyes wide. “I’m sorry. I-I- I didn’t mean to bump into you. it was an accident.”
Oh dear -- yes, the woman was speaking to her. Padme’s hand flew to her throat and her eyes widened. “Oh! I think this has been a misunderstanding! Of course it was an accident, and you helped me picked everything up.” She was acutely aware of the growing crowd watching this happen, and she could feel a flush creep into her face.
Turning towards the woman, she gave her a pleading look. “I really appreciate this, I truly do but … I don’t think he did anything wrong ...he could go…”
Liv frowned. What did this woman mean he had done nothing wrong? She had seen him in her purse with her own eyes. But if this woman said it was a misunderstanding Liv supposed she would have to take her word for it.
She released the teenager. “I guess you can go,” Liv said with a sigh before turning her attention back to the woman. “You sure you’re alright? That he didn’t take anything?”
Padme shooed the teenager on, almost motioning with her hands that he should get a move on. Before this woman changed her mind. “Yes, I’m alright. I really do appreciate the effort though, it was amazing to see how quickly you charged off. I barely had any time to process it.” She gave Liv what she hoped was a comforting smile. The embarrassment was slowly leeching off her face. “I’m Padme. Thank you for the assistance?”
“That’s what I’m here for,” Liv said with a large grin. “Someone has to protect the streets,” she paused briefly considering her words. “Or the farmer’s market.”
Even if it had been a false alarm it looked shady. And Liv still wasn’t convinced it wasn’t. But the woman before her seemed fine so Liv let it fo. “Liv,” she replied introducing herself. “Anytime,” she added still smiling as she held out her hand for Padme to shake.
“Padme.” She took Liv’s hand and shook it, smiling. Now that the moment was over, and all eyes weren’t on her anymore, she could appreciate what happened and she suddenly burst out in laughter. “I just ...I’ve never seen anyone move that fast before! That was impressive! And even though it didn’t work out, if I had been mugged? I would have been so grateful for your quick response. Are you a cop?”
Liv was flattered by Padme’s compliments. And also that she thought Liv was a cop. “No,” Liv replied answering her question. “But I work with them.” And forced Leon to take her to crime scenes with him. They could trigger a vision after all! But right back to Padme. “Well I’m glad it wasn’t an actual mugging.” Even if she would have loved to catch a thief she also would never wish that on anyone. “But I’m happy I could help!”
“You’re a handy person to have around, Liv.” She looked at the woman a bit closer. “Do I know you? You look familiar…” Her eyes widened slightly. “Oh! The network. You’re on it too, aren’t you?”
It was rare that people said she looked familiar. Unless of course they had seen her before. But with her alabaster skin and platinum blonde hair she didn’t exactly look like anyone else. So it made sense that Padme knew her from the network. “I am, yes,” Liv replied with a small nod. “With dreams and everything,” she added. It wasn’t a secret, she posted about her dreams on multiple occasions, she just always left out the whole zombie part of it all.
“Don’t we all,” she commiserated with a grin. Padme was learning to appreciate her dreams… if only they weren’t so stuck on her wedding. Yes, dreamworld, she was well aware by now what her dream!self thought of Anakin.
It wasn’t really too far off from what her now!self thought.
“Maybe this was all meant to be.” The thought came suddenly to her mind, but it was a fact too. “We were obviously supposed to meet and I’m glad we did.” She glanced over at the next table. Artisan baked goods, and elaborate coffee drinks were for sale. “Can I get you a coffee? A donut? Lip balm?” She showed the one in her hand. “It’s bee’s wax.”
Coffee and donuts didn’t have much of a taste for Liv, not unless she added a ton of hot sauce. “That’s not necessary,” Liv assured. “Especially since I didn’t actually catch a bad guy.” It was easier than dealing with the whole hot sauce thing at least and the questions that usually came with it. “But why don’t you stop by my boyfriend’s bar sometime? We can get a drink. Ever heard of the Double Tap?”
Padme hadn’t, but that was because she didn’t usually go to bars. Still. An invite was an invite and it would be nice to get out and have a drink.
“Alright, I’ll take you up on that. Maybe I’ll message you sometime next week? I should have some free time coming up soon.”
She gave Liv a smile. “And you’ll have to let me buy you a beer. Like I said, I owe you. Today could have gone very differently.”
“Again not necessary,” Liv replied before lowering her voice. “Dan doesn’t make me pay.” One of the many perks of dating him. “Just the company is more than enough.” She went to the Double Tap a lot and Dan couldn’t exactly spend all his time talking to her. He had to make drinks for other people and stuff too. So it was always nice to have extra company. “I’m looking forward to it!”
