Where: Various bars/clubs around the OC
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for language and adult situations

So the plan had been to hit up a club and just stay there for a night but that was not what had happened. One club turned into two and then two clubs turned into three before they finally settled on a fourth where the music was good, the alcohol was free flowing and the company was all sorts of interesting and attractive. They'd checked their coats at the door before Reid with his arms around them had pulled them deeper into the club and to where the music was the loudest because of course Reid wanted everything done in excess, that was just the way he was. "I'll get the first round," Pogue hollered over the music, hopefully loud enough that he could be heard. Tonight he was rocking the dark look from the selection of muted colours in his wardrobe but he'd never really done colours, it was what he was comfortable in and it showed in the easy natural way he moved. "Shots!" Reid announced as he leaned around Tyler who he was practically hanging off of. "We need to do some shots." Pogue chuckled as he reached out to lightly pat Reid's chest. "I think maybe we oughta hold off on the shots until later."
"Or completely," Tyler offered, tilting his head to the side as Reid's arms slid over his shoulders and the slightly taller man pressed up against his back. He pressed his lips together and ducked down a little, moving more so that one arm was draped around his waist rather than Reid being completely and wholly pressed against him. "Shots are a really bad idea, right Caleb?" He glanced up, hoping that Caleb would at least agree that giving Reid - who had already been drinking more than a little at each of the clubs (whereas Tyler had been trying to keep his alcohol consumption down) - shots was a bad idea.
This had definitely been an interesting night out for their little group so far. Caleb was firmly in camp no more shots, but he had been working on keeping the delightful buzz (more like tipsy, but Caleb would argue if pressed) going for the rest of the night. He glanced over at Reid drapped over Tyler and let the corner of his mouth curl into a knowing smile. He knew something was slowly growing between those two, but they were both being a bit odd about it and probably needed a push in the right direction. "Yeah, not the best of ideas. I'd rather not puke," Caleb had never been a fan of shots, but put up with about two of them on a night of drinking. He stepped closer to his friends so they wouldn't have to shout as loudly.
“Ugh, boring.” Reid complained as he rolled his eyes though looked significantly put out when Tyler moved. Reid wasn’t drunk, not drunk enough anyways to not know what he was doing. “So I’ll just grab something a little more subdued than shots.” Pogue squeezed Caleb’s upper arm as he broke off from his friends and made for the bar. “The music’s good,” Reid shared thoughtfully.
Tyler nudged Reid's side playfully when he complained, sliding his arm around Reid's waist. He was definitely more sober than the others, but then someone had to be and Tyler was a real lightweight. It didn't take much to tip him over the edge past a slight buzz into drunk, completely bypassing tipsy, despite having had many a marathon drinking session with his friends. "Dancefloor looks busy, too," he commented, glancing up at Caleb again, mouthing a thank you for him being on Team No Shots. If he were honest, though, there would be a tray of them waved under their nose soon enough. And everyone would take part because they weren't all that good at saying no to each other.
"Rather be boring than having you punch me because I puked on your shoes," Caleb commented with a roll of his eyes. It had happened once, back when they first moved to the OC and Caleb found a kegger at a local frat house to go to. Granted the punch had been kind of weak because Reid was three sheets to the wind, but it still got brought up every once and a while. When Pogue squeezed his arms Caleb couldn't fight the light pink flush that appeared on his cheeks and he most likely gave him a slightly moonly look. Tipsy Caleb was not very good at protecting his emotions anymore, which wasn't bad, but right now it wasn't useful to pretending he didn't feel anything towards Pogue. So all he could do was give a nod and a smile before turning back to Reid, "Yeah it is." He flashed another smile at Tyler when he mouthed the words before grabbing his two friends to drag them a little closer to the dance floor, but not quite there so Pogue could find them when he returned with the drinks.
Reid began to bop a little the closer they got to the dance floor because he was like a moth drawn to it like a flame only with less damaging effects. Pogue managed to navigate the crush of bodies at the bar until he was able to latch his fingers around the edge and get the bartender’s attention almost immediately. He put in an order for some spirits, different types, all the kinds that each of his friends liked as there were just some things you didn’t forget. Reid clocked a brunette on the edge of the dance floor giving Caleb a slow once over and nudged his friend in the side. “Looks like somebody’s interested, Caleb. Of course ditching us this early on in the evening? Crappy friend behaviour.”
Caleb honestly hadn't been looking at anyone in any of the bars they went to. Tonight was about his friends and he was keeping the focus mainly on them, but of course Reid noticed those kind of things. Once he got the nudge in his side he turned to look at the brunette and gave her a small smile before turning back to Reid, "Who says I'm going to ditch you guys? Plus, it's been like four hours, Reid." He couldn't help but chuckle at how his friend seemed to lose all sense of time when he got to drinking. He didn't think anything of the brunette until a hand wrapped around his bicep and pulled him into the crowd. When he turned he came face to face with that brunette and leaned in to hear what she was saying to him, honestly surprised by how forward she was.
"So much for not ditching us," Tyler teased, watching Caleb get dragged away. He, like Reid, was bopping a little in time with the music but only a little. He wet his lower lip and tilted his head, turning away to look and see where Pogue was at with the drinks, figuring if they were going to witness Caleb getting lucky they all needed something to wash it down with.
Reid snorted and rolled his eyes at Caleb and the brunette. “I need alcohol. Where the fuck is Pogue?” “Behind you, asshole,” Pogue muttered as he appeared with drinks in hand. The first of which was held out to Reid then the second to Tyler though a frown crossed his face when he couldn’t see Caleb. “Where’d Caleb go?” “Dragged off by some brunette in a short skirt.” Helpfully supplied by Reid.
The brunette was attractive, Caleb admitted, but she was not who he wanted to go home with. He knew who he wanted to go home with, but it probably wouldn't happen in that way. It also didn't help that he wasn't one to just ditch his friends for the first person who expressed wanting to spend the night together, which is what this girl was currently trying to whisper in his ear. He was raised to be polite, so he did his best to extract her hand off his bicep while she spoke to him. His eyes widened a little before he did another quick glance to see if Pogue had returned yet before returning to answer the girl. "You want to have sex with me?" Caleb didn't often have women who were this forward come up to him and while flattered it wasn't going to happen. His eyes caught sight of Pogue returning to his friends and that was the perfect excuse to get away from her, "Ok cool, but it's not gonna happen. I gotta go." He started to weave his way through the crowd and make it back to his friends.
"Oh, look, he's coming back," Reid commented as he sipped at his drink and waved his hand in Caleb's direction. "Not feeling the brunette in the skirt?" He tipped his head to regard the brunette who looked very put out by the fact she'd been rejected so quickly. "Girl looks pissed." Pogue passed a drink over to Caleb as he returned to the group. "Everything alright?"
"Nah, she's a bit much," Caleb commented with a shake of his head as he finally made his way back to his friends. He gave Pogue a grateful smile as he took the drink from his friend, "But yeah, things are good. I've never had someone as forward as her try to proposition me. But that's not what I'm looking for tonight."
Tyler perked up, "What are you looking for tonight?" he asked, sharp gaze doing a quick once-over of the crowd they were standing in. One of his skills was identifying people that were checking out his friends. It was strongest with Reid, obviously, but he was pretty good at picking others out, too. He moved away from Reid to nudge Caleb, taking a sip of his drink, "There's a guy on the edge of the dance floor that looked pretty put out when she tugged you away..." Truthfully he'd only noticed because his friend had been watching Reid. "Is he more what you're looking for?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Pogue steadfastly said nothing and just sipped at his drink, hand lifting to tangle in the long strands of his hair as he swept his gaze over the dance floor and sure enough he spotted the guy that Tyler was referring to. It was not exactly a secret that Pogue was both possessive and jealous but he was trying to be better especially after Kate and how badly that relationship had ended because of his "jealousy" and Caleb was totally free to do what he wanted with who he wanted. Didn't mean he liked it though. Not one bit. Reid glanced at Pogue and then looked back over at Caleb and Tyler, a smirk playing across his lips. "I mean, it's not a problem if it is, you know that."
Caleb was just about to give Tyler an explanation that he wasn't looking for anything tonight and wanted to spend time with his friends. It was their first night out in the OC as a group and he didn't want to do anything to mess with that, but that was quickly tossed out the window. Tyler looking at guy who had been watching him caught that guy's attention and Caleb could see him take that as encouragement to come over towards them. Caleb sent Tyler a quick glare as he stepped forward to say something to the guy and hopefully stop whatever was about to happen.
"Looks like Caleb's night's looking up," Tyler said with a little smile thrown in Reid's direction. The guy in question ducked his head almost bashfully as he approached, rubbing the back of his neck and offering Caleb a warm, easy smile. "Hey man," he started, glancing back at the guys stood behind Caleb and tilting his head a little, stepping in to be heard over the music, his hand resting on Caleb's shoulder (for balance, of course), "can I get you a drink? I'll- uh, I can get a round for your friends, too, if you want?"
Seriously, did Caleb have some sort of magic pheromones going on? Only explanation, logically, in Reid's mind. Or maybe beer goggles. He was mostly not serious truth be told because objectively speaking he knew Caleb was a good looking guy but they tended to butt heads more than they got along though admittedly in recent days things had definitely started to look up. Still. "His friends wouldn't say no." "Reid," Pogue hissed as he lightly tapped the other man upside the head. "I'm good, thanks." His tone was clipped but polite and he sipped at his drink in hand, the one he was perfectly content with.
Ugh, Caleb was mentally cursing this guy out. The last thing he wanted was for someone to get close enough to interact with his friends especially since he had the intention to let the guy down. He didn't want to embarrass anyone and had hoped that he wouldn't be close enough for the guys to hear what was going on. He gave the guy a smile before he shook his head. "I'm sorry, but we just got a fresh round, but I appreciate the offer," and this is where Caleb wasn't quite sure the best plan of attack because he didn't want to just reject the guy outright, "We can dance though if you want." The guy didn't have to know it'd be a one and done dance and then he'd be pushing his friends to the next bar as quick as he could.
The guy looked exceptionally relieved that he hadn't been turned down and nodded his head, "Y-yeah, that- I'd like that." He breathed out a laugh and tilted his head, indicating that Caleb could follow him onto the dance floor.
Pogue's jaw twitched visibly so when Caleb offered to dance with the guy and he was pretty sure he'd worn out at least three layers of enamel by saying absolutely nothing. Whatever, Caleb could dance with whoever he wanted. Of course that didn't stop him from watching Caleb vanishing in the direction of the dance floor with the other guy before the pair of them got up close and personal in time to the beat. In one smooth movement he knocked his drink back with very little hesitation. "Anybody else want another drink?" Reid arched an eyebrow as he looked over at Pogue because hell he still had some of his drink left which was impressive but apparently Pogue did not.
Tyler glanced at his drink and said, "I- uh-" he downed his drink quickly, quickly enough that he felt a little light-headed, "I'm done. See? I'll- I can go. Reid, come give me a hand?" Since his hands weren't big enough to carry everything back without assistance and trays were overrated. He caught his fingers in Reid's shirt and tugged gently, intending on pulling him away. "Be right back, man."
Pogue opened his mouth to argue with Tyler about how he'd be the one to go get them another round of drinks but by that point he got a chance to say something it was already too late, both Tyler and Reid had made a beeline for the bar. Fuck. Pogue pushed out a breath and found a table to drop his glass onto so he could settle where he was, arms folded over his chest as the club ebbed and flowed around him. Also around Caleb and whatever-the-fuck-his-name was. Honestly it didn't look like a trial and Pogue not for the firs time wondered just how much of a masochist he was as he seemed determined to watch the dance including all the touching. Pogue curled his tongue around his canine and drew in a breath as his fingers flexed around his biceps as he tried to navigate and handle the familiar tell tale signs of jealousy and possessiveness that had in the past caused him issues. He had his father's temper and he was well aware of that which nine times out of ten got him into more trouble than it should but he was trying to be mature about this though admittedly it was hard especially when a hand made itself perfectly comfortable with Caleb's lower back. Yeah, okay, this was bullshit. Pogue knew that if he stood here any longer then he was definitely going to do something he'd regret so he decided, "to hell with this," and he turned on his heel to head off the dancefloor.
Being raised to be polite was really fucking with Caleb tonight. All he wanted to do was get this dance over with so he could get back to his friends. That's all he wanted, but the unnamed dance partner seemed to think this was some sort of foreplay for something else tonight and it made Caleb a little uncomfortable. He had kept a small distance between the two of them, and the phrase 'Leave Room for Jesus' came to mind, which created a small smirk on Caleb's face as he fought the urge to laugh. However, his dance partner decided to take that as invitation to come closer to him and there was a hand on Caleb's lower back. He had been doing his best to not pay attention to his friends while he danced, but movement out of the corner of his eye made him turn his head. He saw Pogue storming off someone and he felt like he could see the anger coming off his best friend. He took that as the opportunity he needed and quickly parted ways with his dance partner. He pushed through the sweaty bodies to exit the dance floor and by the time he finally made it he had no idea where Pogue had gone. He did spot Reid and Tyler and hollered at them, "Where did he go?" He knew better than to let Pogue go off by himself.
Tyler waved his hand in the vague direction that Pogue had headed off, "towards the coat room," he yelled over the music, though he wasn't a hundred percent sure Caleb could hear him, so he just pointed again, emphatically.
Caleb gave him a nod as he turned in that direction and ran out after Pogue. There was a door not far from the coat room that lead to the back alley of the club and Caleb assumed that's where Pogue went. He pushed it open and then stopped for a moment to see where Pogue had gone. He spotted his friend not too far away and started to make his way over to him, "Hey, where are you going?" He didn't have to shout this time because it was thankfully silent out here and Caleb wasn't sure if that made it better or worse. He just wanted to find out what was going on.
Pogue had checked his jacket out and tugged it on as he'd headed out into the cool night air which was honestly kind of refreshing given how hot and stifling the club had been or maybe that was just him? Fuck knew. What he hadn't anticipated was Caleb coming out after him and he took a moment to compose himself, shove all those ugly twisted emotions that had bubbled over back under the surface where they belonged. "Gonna call it a night," he shared as he tucked his hands into the back pockets of his jeans.
Caleb frowned as he moved to stand in front of Pogue and stop him from continuing his walk. "What's wrong?" Caleb asked him honestly. He hoped that Pogue wouldn't give him some kind of bullshit answer, but there had to be a reason behind the sudden disappearing act. Things had been fine until Caleb had gone onto the dance floor, but he wasn't quite sure if those things were connected. His eyes locked with Pogue's as he waited for an answer and his face showed a mixture of hurt and confusion.
Pogue pushed out a breath as Caleb got in his way and he stilled his movements, just giving Caleb a look of 'really?' because hell he was a grown man, if he wanted to leave then he could. "Look, I don't want to ruin anybody's night so I'm removing myself from the situation, alright?" He knew he had no right to be pissed and upset about this whole thing but apparently he was so rather than be a total dick about it he was going to get away before everything went to shit.
Okay, apparently Pogue was going to give him a bullshit answer. He was just going to throw something out there and see if i was possible and if it made things worse than so be it. Caleb's jaw set as he fixed Pogue with a look. "Are you mad at me? I didn't ask for that girl or that guy to come up to me. I didn't want to be around anyone else but you guys. I just didn't know how to politely reject that guy. If I fucked up then I'll take the hit, but you need to tell me," Caleb would fall on a sword for his friends, but he wasn't quite sure what Pogue was mad about. If he was mad at him then he wanted to clear the air before they went back to the same apartment.
The thing was Pogue wasn't actually mad at Caleb. He was mad at himself for wanting to go over and rip that guy's head off his shoulders for touching Caleb when he had no claim over the other man. They were friends, best friends in fact. "It's my issue, alright? You didn't do anything wrong. I just gotta-" He pushed a breath out of his chest which was uncomfortably tight. He shoved a hand into his hair roughly, a sure fire sign that he was not okay, and curled his fingers around the strands as a means of rooting himself right here and now. "But you know what, Caleb? You don't have to be polite to every single person who comes up to you. If you don't want anything to do with them then just fucking say it, they'll live."
"Hey, you know I'm here for you right?" Caleb tried to speak gently to Pogue. He wanted to know what Pogue was going through and possibly help him out. That's what friends are for, but then Pogue took that swipe at him and Caleb's lips pursed together. Ok, that was a bit too far although Caleb had to admit that he wasn't completely in the wrong. His stance turned a little more defensive as he looked down at his friend. He studied him for a moment as he considered what to say because he could see that Pogue was distressed, Caleb knew his gives really well, "Sorry my parents raised me that way and I can't shed that part of myself yet. You can also blame Tyler and Reid for that because I wanted nothing to do with anyone in that club. I just wanted to be with you -- guys..."
"Oh yeah I forgot I was the one raised by wolves," Pogue returned fire with a humourless laugh before he just shook his head, literally wondering how this was his life. Seriously messed up and this was a long standing friendship he was potentially jeopardising and yet he couldn't seem to help himself. What did that say about him? Oh yeah, self sabotaging. Pogue Parry through and through everybody. He shook his head and stepped up to brush past Caleb. "Just go back inside, Caleb."
"That's not at all what I meant and you know it," Caleb had always felt like Pogue someone he wanted to be like. He wanted to have that reckless devil may care attitude. He wanted the long hair and the attitude, but that wasn't who he was. So instead he took that person and made him his best friend and somewhere along the way the feelings changed for Caleb. So, when Pogue tried to push past him he put a hand out firmly on Pogue's chest to stop him. "Don't tell me what to do, Pogue. You're driving me absolutely insane right now," Caleb said evenly before he curled his fingers in Pogue's shirt unconsciously. He could sense the jealously now. Pogue was jealous and it all came back to Caleb. He waited a beat, but short enough to not allow Pogue to get a word out before he ducked his head and pulled Pogue close for a kiss. Caleb didn't know what to do anymore, but he was going to shoot his shot and see what happened because nothing would be worse than losing his best friend over some stupid argument.
Pogue's eyebrow arched when Caleb's hand came out to plant on his chest quite firmly and honestly if it had been anyone else they'd be lucky to come away from this encounter without a broken wrist but as it was Caleb Pogue tempered his more violent impulses. He had been about to say something in retaliation because his temper was up, his blood was boiling, and he was definitely spoiling for a fight, but then Caleb did the exact opposite of what Pogue had been expecting. He kissed him and Pogue was not at all ashamed to admit that he made a sound in the back of his throat in response before he immediately latched his fingers in Caleb's shirt, taking fistfuls of the material and using that grip to push him up against the nearest wall as he pressed into that kiss. Caleb wasn't wrong. He had been jealous, really fucking jealous. Evident in how possessively he explored the full expanse of the other man's mouth and slid his thigh between Caleb's legs as he crowded him against the wall.
Pogue's reaction had not been exactly what Caleb anticipated, but he had hoped for something like this, although on a slightly less scale. It was like someone lit a match on their sexual tension and the flames reacted immediately. He felt his back hit the wall and he made a small noise as they kissed. He had no idea Pogue would be like this to kiss, but he figured their fight had something to do with it. His hands gripped Pogue's shirt, wanting to keep him as close as he possibly could as the kiss deepened between the two of them. It could feel himself starting to react and he was pretty certain that Pogue really wouldn't mind in this moment. This had been a long time coming for Caleb and he was going to take full advantage of it especially if it was a one time thing and Pogue cited momentary insanity. His hands relaxed their grip and moved down Pogue's shirt to come to the hem before slipping underneath. He had wanted to touch those abs for so long and he emitted a groan when he felt the tight muscles underneath his fingers.
Pogue's hands flexed restlessly where they'd gripped and creased the otherwise immaculate material of Caleb's shirt before they eased when it was clear that Caleb wasn't going anywhere. Pretty damn impossible considering Pogue basically had him trapped up against the brickwork, hips lifting in response to the wandering hands that skated over muscle that immediately flickered and reacted as if Caleb's fingers had electricity in their tips. He passed his hands over Caleb's neck and sunk his fingers into the the short dark strands, curling them a moment later as he opened up even further to the kiss until they were quite literally pressed nose to nose and there was no Pogue without Caleb and no Caleb without Pogue. Mine was a treacherous thought that crossed Pogue's mind before the need for air became overwhelming and Pogue drew back, resting his forehead against Caleb's as he panted out short hot breaths against the other man's thoroughly kissed mouth. He flexed his hands in Caleb's hair and smoothed the blunt ends of his nails over his scalp before passing them over to catch in his collar. "No more dancing with strange men," he said with a shake of his head.
Caleb hadn't been with anyone that reacted like Pogue did and it was a heady sensation as he tried to get himself back to normal as they continued to kiss. But Pogue's fingers felt like they had tiny bolts of electricity on the finger tips and the sensation coursed through Caleb's body when Pogue played with his hair and then scrapped the skin down to his collar. He shouldn't be surprised by this because Pogue was a rough person in general. When his lips were finally released he couldn't help but follow suit with the panting as he tried to get himself under control, which wasn't working well. The synapses in his brain didn't want to find the right ones to fire to now that he had finally done what he had wanted to do since the moment he gave Pogue that kiss in the airport. "Never. I only wanted you," Caleb admitted huskily. He was feeling a little vulnerable by admitting his feelings, but he had the strong suspicion that he wasn't about to be rejected by Pogue after that kiss. He lightly ran his own fingernails down Pogue's stomach as he slipped his hands out from underneath the other man's shirt. He wasn't even sure what else to say after that.
Pogue's gaze as heavy and dark as it was softened a little as he looked up to make eye contact with Caleb when he confessed what he did. His lips curled into a smile and his eyes closed briefly at the sensation of nails, Caleb's nails, on his skin and he exhaled a breath that reflected what a huge impact such a small touch could have on him. "Yeah? Good 'cause I have a real issue with sharing." He wet his lower lip where he could still taste Caleb though seemingly not having had enough of him he ducked his head and brushed his nose and mouth over the long expanse of Caleb's neck. "As in I don't do it, period." His voice took on an edge of possessiveness which was heightened by the light growl that accompanied it and the grazing of teeth across the juncture of where Caleb's neck met his shoulder. He passed his hands through Caleb's hair again until they circled around to cradle his face, thumbs brushing over his cheekbones as he drew him into a much slower much softer kiss which was Pogue's way of expressing himself when words failed him.
Watching Pogue react to his touch sent a trail of fire inside Caleb down his spine. Was this seriously happening? He and Pogue had kissed before, but it was never anything serious, but in this moment it seemed deadly serious. Things were going to change between the two of them and Pogue only confirmed that with his next set of comments. "Fuck," Caleb uttered in a gasp as he felt Pogue's teeth along his his neck. Yep, there went any chance of being able to walk away from this without a hard-on, "....I know." He did know. He knew exactly how Pogue could be, which is why he wanted this relationship to work because they knew each other better than anyone in the world. Then the touch from Pogue turned gentle and Caleb's eyes alight with surprise as Pogue pulled him into a softer kiss. Something that was wholly unexpected, but well received. His hands fisted the hem of Pogue's shirt before reaching out to grab Pogue's hips and keep him close.
Pogue let his fingers tangle loosely in Caleb's hair as he took the time to soothe the imprint of his teeth that he knew he'd left behind on his lower lip and just took the time to familiarise himself with how Caleb felt and tasted. They'd kissed before sure but this was something else entirely and he was drawing back on his more primal edge to actually show Caleb that this wasn't just about his flare of possessiveness and jealousy. He pulled back after a moment and lifted his gaze to regard Caleb through his lashes, gaze dark and definitely wanting.
This was definitely far better than Caleb had been imagining it and at least he knew he wasn't crazy realizing that there was some sexual tension between the two of them since Pogue got back into the country. When the kiss broke Caleb looked down at Pogue's gaze and shook his head with a slow smile. "Don't look at me like that because I am not having sex in the back alley of a club," Caleb commented in a low voice because that's what was going to happen when if this continued. Once he finished he lifted his head up when he heard the back door opening.
"Christ, there you are," Tyler shouted, turning his head to look back into the club, tugging on Reid's sleeve and dragging him out into the air. "Here- they're- oh-" His eyes widened a little as he actually took in the sight in front of him, cheeks flushing slightly and he rubbed the back of his head, turning on his heel. Like that would miraculously mean he didn't have the image of Caleb pressed against a wall by Pogue burned into his head. "Shit- sorry you guys, didn't mean to- uh- interrupt."
Reid grinned at the pair of them like some sort of deranged hyena with his tongue pressed against his teeth as he soaked in the sight and he let out a low wolf whistle. "You know there are better places to be getting up close and personal, right?" Pogue let out a husky laugh before he glanced at Caleb, holding his gaze for a moment until he just rubbed his hand along the back of his neck. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't affected by what had just happened but now that their friends were there it was all about control and composure. Also deep breaths, lots of deep breaths.
It was probably the least awkward version of this situation they could stumble upon. They were both still clothed and not currently kissing, so Caleb was going to call it a win. They were going to figure it out sooner or later. At least Caleb's cheeks couldn't get any pinker than they had been from what he was doing with Pogue. He gave a shrug to Pogue when he shot them a look and turned to look at his friends. "It's fine, Tyler," Caleb called out to his easily embarrassed friend with a soft chuckle. He wasn't completely sure what to say for an explanation, "And yes, Reid, there is but we gotta work with what we got."
"You know if you guys wanted to just... y'know," Tyler waved his hand, turning back around to look at the two of them again, bumping Reid with his shoulder, rubbing the back of his neck again, "go get an Uber and we can meet up again tomorrow, that's totally cool."
Reid scowled over at Tyler as he waved off the new lovers with as close to a blessing as you could get with reference to an Uber. "And here I thought we still had at least one club to hit up." Reid was and would always be a total shit and he knew what was going on but he was playing dumb rather deliberately. Pogue bit his lower as he felt his mouth tugging into a smirk as he just watched Tyler and Reid. "I think you've had enough alcohol for one night."
"I think Reid needs to sweat it out on the dance floor, but we're definitely not going back into that club," Caleb commented. As much as he wanted to take Pogue into Uber back to their place he didn't want to make any of this weird. He was fine to continue to go out and now that some of the sexual tension and jealousy issued had been eased between him and Pogue they could probably enjoy one more club together. Especially now that he was able to touch and look at Pogue in the way he wanted to for quite some time. But no matter what ended up happening all Caleb knew was that he was not letting Reid have another drink, "What do you guys want to do?"
"Reid and I can go back inside," Tyler offered with a crooked grin, "I think I can handle him." He nudged the blonde in the side with his elbow, "really, if you wanna head home it's no big." Besides, Tyler wasn't completely sure he could handle having a mostly-drunk-and-handsy-Reid and Pogue and Caleb being caught up in the newness of whatever was going on there.
Reid snorted as he was nudged in the side and he looped his arm around Tyler's neck. "Oh you think you can handle me." His teeth bared again as he dragged Tyler closer and playfully ruffled his hair. "I think Tyler's trying to get rid of us," Pogue muttered as he looked over at Caleb.
"He 100% is," Caleb agreed with a small smirk as he watched Reid with Tyler, "Are you really sure you can handle him all by yourself? We're happy to help you out." He was more than willing to walk over there and pull Reid off Tyler for the moment, but he was just going to enjoy the show for now. Besides, he sensed something was probably brewing between the two of them.
Tyler whined a little as Reid tugged him in and ruffled his hair with a plaintive not the hair, jackass before squirming free and retaliating a split second later with a playful half-tackle, his own hand pushing into Reid's hair to rumple and ruffle the blonde strands. "Well, if you guys are just gonna make out all night," he started, "besides, you guys know I can handle Reid." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully in Reid's direction, attention taken successfully away from Tyler and Caleb if he was honest.
Reid made a small "oomph" sound as he was set upon by Tyler and honestly the hand in the hair should have been annoying as shit but it was quite the opposite given that Reid maybe had a thing for people's hands in his hair. Thankfully he was able to handle any such reaction by a playful shove given in return which successfully extracted those damn fingers. "Asshole," he shot off with a smirk in Tyler's direction. Pogue watched the interaction closely and glanced at Caleb as if to say 'and why aren't they together?' because nobody could read his facial expressions like Caleb. It was obvious that there was more than just friendship there between Tyler and Reid but then maybe it was kind of like him and Caleb, they just needed a push. "What if we want to dance? Is that allowed?"
These two were the oddest friends that Caleb could have picked, but he loved them dearly despite that. Then Pogue shot him that look and Caleb gave a small nod. At least they were in agreement that these two were definitely not going to stay 'just friends' forever. Pogue was probably correct that they needed some kind of push in the right direction. However, those thoughts were pushed away when Pogue asked about dancing. He turned to Pogue with his eyebrows raised, "Now I'm allowed to dance? I don't even know if I want to dance. I'd rather people watch, but it's not happening at this club. We'll have to go somewhere else."
Tyler gently shoved Reid back and shrugged his shoulders, "If you guys wanna go somewhere else we could? Just gotta grab our shit from the cloakroom." He wet his lower lip again and rocked on his heels, sticking his fingers into the pockets of his jeans to stop him from reaching out to touch Reid again. "Pogue and Reid can go hit the dance floor."
Pogue rolled his eyes at Caleb though smirked when Tyler said he and Reid could hit up the dance floor and looped his arm around Reid’s neck, tugging him closer and patting his chest. “Dancefloor won’t know what hit it.” Reid grinned over at Pogue. “I’m down.” He jerked his thumb in the direction of the club. “But like Tyler said just gotta grab our stuff.”
"Sounds good, Pogue and I can meet you guys around front if you want and call an Uber to take us to the next place if it's not within walking distance," Caleb commented with an amused smile. He ran a hand through his hair as he opened up his phone to start getting into the Uber app.
“Pogue and you, huh?” Tyler teased, watching Reid getting manhandled without too much fuss. “Yeah- well meet you out front. Need us to grab your shit, Caleb?”
“Nah, I didn't bring a coat," it was nice enough out and Caleb always felt like he ran slightly hot-blooded, so he never bothered with a coat unless it was really cold, "Thanks though." He also just wanted to be left alone with Pogue for a few minutes while they made their way to the front of the club.
“Alright, we’ll grab our shit and meet you out front. Try not to break any walls with your backs.” Reid flashed a shit eating grin before he tugged Tyler back in the direction of the club. Pogue chuckled and shook his head before he fell into step beside Caleb. “Pretty sure they’ll never let us live that one down.”
"I don't think so," Caleb commented with an amused sound in his voice. It was better than trying to hide it from their friends while they figured out what they were doing. Their friends were insane chill about most things, so it was nice to have it done and over with. He reached over to take Pogue's hand in his own and leaned down for a quick kiss, "You have no idea how difficult it's been to not kiss you after that kiss in the airport."
Pogue smirked over at Caleb as he took his hand and stole a quick kiss. “No?” He asked, innocently as he caught his lower lip between his teeth. “How difficult was it exactly?”
Caleb's eyes immediately watched Pogue's actions with his bottom lip and his brow furrowed just slightly. That was definitely a form of torture and Pogue had to know what he was doing. "Excruciating, but I have to keep some of the mystery alive. And it seems like I wasn't the only one who wanted more after that kiss," he countered wanting to spin it back on his friend.
Pogue chuckled and with a distinctly sultry look he leaned in and tipped his head up so his lips were mere centimetres from Caleb's ear. "There's still the rest of the evening." He leaned back and gave Caleb a slow once over because yes he knew what Caleb looked like but he'd never been able to openly admire him in this way before. "C'mon," he said as he jerked his head to indicate that they should move to meet Reid and Tyler.
Stop doing that," Caleb muttered in a husky voice with an annoyed look on his face before breaking into a small smile. He wasn't going to get in trouble for making them late to meet Reid and Tyler, but if Pogue kept looking at him in that way he couldn't be held responsible for his actions. He gave Pogue's hand a squeeze as they arrived at the front of the club just as their friends were heading out and he grabbed his phone out of his pocket to call an Uber.
Reid and Tyler had taken a bit longer than expected to get their shit out of the cloakroom because people were idiots, drunk idiots at that, and Tyler had to spend some time talking Reid down from the ceiling. They did eventually roll out of the club with coats and grins in place as Reid hollered, "Onto the next club!" And a moment later he was all but falling into the waiting Uber. The night was still young.
