Ever since Finn had gotten his own reflection back he’d had no new dreams, which was leading him to believe that once Freya had removed his spirit from Vincent his dreams were over once again. Of course he knew that with Freya being a witch she could do anything with his spirit in the future, but he just didn’t see that happening. Either way, he was enjoying having his own reflection back after so many months of seeing someone else’s every time he looked into the mirror.
He also hated the fact that he’d been so dead set on revenge for the way his siblings had treated him in the past that he’d been responsible for Kol’s second death. It had been bothering him to no end and since Kol wasn’t quite there yet he couldn’t really talk to him about it past having had the overwhelming need to apologize.
Finn had been trying to forget about the things his dream self had been doing for the last week or so, including the conversation he’d had with Freya about Dahlia and had decided to throw himself into his work as much as he could and was currently on his way home and decided to stop in to a cafe near the office before heading home.
Hayley was already in the cafe, she still didn’t trust herself, but she was slowly putting herself back into society. She shouldn’t hide, she knew she could control this new version of her Elijah had assure of that and she trusted him. So she sat at a table with her laptop as she was booking her next adventure, she needed to get out of her head for awhile and white river rafting will be perfect, perhaps she should ask Elijah to join her.
Shifting she typed and than paused, moving to take a sip of her drink and then sighed as she looked around. She could hear so many heartbeats, but the urge to rip them out, wasn’t there. Hayley smirked to herself, she was adapting...maybe this could work afterall.
Once he had his coffee in hand, Finn had every intention to leave the cafe and head home, but the woman sitting nearby caught his attention; at first glance he thought it was Evie and was just about approach her when he realized that everything from her demeanor and her scent was different. It took a moment, but he quickly realized that it wasn’t his sister’s girlfriend but instead it was Hayley.
Hayley has been a major player in his more recent dreams considering she was the mother of Klaus’ child there and she and Marcel had managed to bring him and Kol to Klaus and Elijah among other things.
Considering they had spoken on the Net before, Finn decided that he might as well introduce himself in person so he made his way over to her table, “Hayley Marshall?”
Diving back in to her researched she sipped her drink a few times and just sat it back down when she heard her name was called. Her head shot up, “yes?” she asked as she looked at the man who questioned her name. She wasn’t sure who he was, but he seemed familiar, just not sure how at the moment.
Leaned back in her chair, eyeing him for a brief moment...could he be related to someone, maybe Elijah? She was unsure, but nodded her head, “I’m her, how can I help you?” she asked, perhaps it was someone husband for yoga who picked their wife up after classes.
If he’d had any doubts left about her identity, they vanished the moment she responded, “I’m sorry to bother you, but I think you know my brother. Elijah Mikaelson?” Considering how many brothers he had, Finn needed to be specific, “I’m Finn Mikaelson.” He didn’t know exactly where this conversation was going to go, but he’d felt drawn to Hayley once he’d realized it was her and not Evie sitting there.
She was about to ask which one, but then he mentioned his name, “The oldest brother,” she smiled brighter, she hadn’t met all his family yet, which was a good thing, her and Klaus haven’t met face to face as well, which she was grateful for. “It’s nice to finally meet you Finn.” she extended her hand for him to shake, “care to join me?”
“I’d like that, thank you.” Finn slid into the seat across from Hayley, “How did the repairs on your studio go?” He recalled Hayley’s post after the dragon attack about her yoga studio. “Back in business, I presume?” He had a feeling that had her studio been closed longer than she had initially wanted, she would have made another post on the Network about it.
“Just fine, some friends came together and we worked on it and you are right, back in business already,” she smiled, “thank you for asking.” She was proud of her studio and the people who helped fixed it. “How are you?” she asked as she picked up her drink taking a sip. Elijah had mentioned Finn, but she didn’t know much about him. “What do you do for work?”
“That’s fantastic.” Finn took a sip of his coffee, “I’m good actually. I’ve had some things going on, but things are looking up recently.” He could only hope that if he did have any more dreams he wouldn’t be trying to kill his siblings or vice versa, “I work for my mother actually. She runs a number of non-profit organizations and I’ve worked for her for a number of years now.” Finn and Esther might not have always seen eye to eye, but working for his mother was much easier than working for Mikael.
“Oh, that’s right,” Hayley knew that, she’s just been wrap up in her own thing, plus Elijah has a big family. “Apologies, I knew that, I’ve never knew anyone with such a big family like yours. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track,” she smiled kindly at him. “Minus Freya, I haven’t met anyone else in person. So..got any stories about Elijah when he was little?”
“No apologies necessary. There are quite a few of us so any details Elijah has given you are bound to be forgotten now and then.” Finn had only ever known one other person who had an immediate family quite as large as theirs and despite knowing that person for some time, he never was able to remember everything they ever said about their family, “Well you’re bound to meet everyone eventually. At least as far as siblings go.” He had a feeling that Mikael and Esther were the last people Elijah would want to introduce anyone to, especially Hayley, “How much time do you have exactly?” He couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of some of his stories about Elijah when they were little.
“He couldn’t have been that much trouble,” Hayley laughed, she couldn’t even think of Elijah being a young troublemaker, he was too stiff as it was. “I can make time to hear a story or two,” she chuckled softly as she reached for her mug to take another sip.
