The hour was late, the night had been long, and it was definitely time to leaving but Reid being Reid didn't know when to call it quits. Besides, the music was good and the alcohol was flowing. Hell, he'd even coaxed Tyler out onto the dancefloor and there was no way he was letting that rare opportunity slip between his fingers and this was apparent by how he bared his teeth at Tyler and wiggled his fingers encouragingly.

It helped that he'd managed to secure them their own little space on the dancefloor so there was nobody pushing up on either of them and no chance of Reid getting annoyed or pissed off by somebody else's stupidity. That happened far more frequently than it should but he'd always had a hairtrigger temper, the only person that seemed able to temper and calm him down was Tyler.

"I love this song," he hollered.

Tyler snorted, "You've said that about every song for the last ten minutes," he retorted, shouting above the music and the noise as he danced awkwardly. It wasn't that Tyler couldn't dance, but he hadn't had enough to drink to make him loose limbed and pliable, self-consciousness still clinging to the edges of the way he danced even if Reid had long since surrendered himself to the beat.

Tyler wasn't the only one that had noticed, if the blonde behind them was anything to go by.

Still, he grinned in response and pushed a hand through his hair.

"Not my fault this place got's good music," Reid returned in a holler and accompanying grin. Reid unlike Tyler was self conscious about practically nothing and alcohol helped like a lot and he was most definitely drunk right now, loving life and living his best rich kid one at that.

He knew Tyler wasn't anywhere near as relaxed as he was and Reid danced that much closer and he grinned at his friend in that Chesire Cat way that he did. "Gotta relax more into the music, Tyler."

Tyler rolled his eyes as Reid danced closer, taking his hands out of his pockets to fend off any attempts at arm-pulling that were inevitably going to come his way. Reid had been knocking back shots like they were going out of style, so Tyler was aware that he was approaching that state of drunkenness when he cared even less than usual about people.

"I'm relaxed," he lied, making a bit more of an effort. "See? Not everyone turns into a car sales thing whenever they get near a beat and a beer."

Reid rolled his eyes in a way that was not at all dissimilar to how Tyler had rolled his eyes and honestly he'd gotten pretty good at evading Tyler's hands and even in his inebriated state he was able to slip past them, positioning himself in front of the slightly shorter man while placing his hands rather firmly on his hips.

"Just gotta loosen these up a little."

Tyler pressed his teeth together as Reid's hands came to settle on his hips, drawing in a slow breath and playfully grumbling something about Reid being the expert on being loose. He saw the blonde at the edge of the dancefloor who'd been watching Reid lift her eyebrows and say something to her friend and he though he hadn't been paying her much attention, Tyler felt like he might have unintentionally cock-blocked.

"I got it," he protested, though he made no move to push Reid's hands away. He probably should do.

Reid snorted. "If by got it you mean doing a great impression of an ironing board then yeah I think you're doing well." He grinned at Tyler and ignored all his grumbling because it wasn't serious, he could tell it wasn't serious.

He honestly hadn't been paying any attention to the people around them so Tyler might be aware of the blonde but Reid was not.

Tyler reached out and pushed Reid's hair off his forehead. "I told you," he protested, hands finding their way to Reid's shoulders somehow anyway, thumbs hooking underneath the collar of his shirt and letting the firm touch against his hips loosen the tension in his spine. He just wasn't as outgoing as Reid. Or any of the others, really, Reid and Pogue had a cocky confidence about them, and Caleb had such an easy charm. He had no idea how they did it. "Not everyone just gets all floppy and shit on the dance floor."

"It's what alcohol is for," Reid returned with a grin as he bit his lower lip and tipped his head to regard Tyler. "So, clearly? You've not had enough to drink yet." Only they totally had, definitely had enough, maybe too much even. Not that Reid knew anything about self control as he was the complete antithesis to all things controlled.

Tyler hadn't quite had as much to drink as Reid, he tended not to as he tried to at least make sure someone had a level head. He hummed, letting the weight of Reid's hands guide his hips into a rolling movement. He was fine, he had a good sense of rhythm when he let himself go. He leaned forward, nudged Reid's nose with his own before he draped his arms lazily over the blond's shoulders. "You know," he said, eyes sliding past Reid, "there's a red-head that's been watching you since we hit the floor."

Reid's lips slid into their first soft genuine smile of the night because he grinned more often than not like a hyena or some sort of wild animal delighted at the thought of prey but he was different with Tyler.

"Yeah?" He asked, eyebrow lifted. "She hot?"

Wonder what that said about him that he hadn't even noticed?

Tyler glanced at her again and lifted a shoulder as his eyes returned to Reid. She wasn't really his type. Though he'd never officially come out to his friends he was probably aware that they'd not be in the least surprised to find out that he was gay. Or, at least, that was what he thought. He wasn't really a hundred percent sure since often guys didn't do it for him either.

"She's pretty, if that's what you're asking," he said, "red dress on the edge of the dance floor, black shoes."

Reid rolled his eyes good naturedly in response to Tyler's answer before he shifted so he could take a better look at the redhead. She was pretty hot but nothing to write home about. Also he was actually enjoying just dancing and being with his friend as it was important to reaffirm your friendships especially now Pogue was home.

"She's alright," he shared with a lift of his shoulder.

"Alright?" Tyler challenged, knowing full well that Reid had previously gone home with girls that were just as pretty as her in the past. "Not feeling it tonight?"

"Yeah, just not feeling it," Reid said with a shake of his head. "Just wanna drink, dance, hang with you and enjoy the night."

Tyler frowned, looking a little concerned, "You sure you're okay?" he asked, fingers catching the sharp curve of Reid's jaw to make sure that his attention stayed on him.

Tyler did know Reid pretty well considering he struggled to keep his attention on any one thing for very long, his friends being the only exception to that. "Yeah, totally sure," he reassured Tyler with a grin and nod of his head. "You wanna get outta here and maybe get something to eat? I'm starving."

Tyler's touch slipped along Reid's jaw and into his hair, blunted nails grazing over his scalp just briefly before he nodded, dropped his touch and stuffed his hands in his pockets like he was trying to make up for the brief overstepping of a second ago. "Uh- yeah? There's an In-an-Out just down the road?"

Reid's eyes closed albeit briefly as the moment there were nails on the scalp they vanished just as quick and he pulled himself back a moment later. "Yeah, cool. Let's go hit that up." He slung his arm around Tyler's neck and pulled him in close as he made for the exit.

Tyler's arm slid around Reid's waist out of habit, something that he was so very used to, and he leaned in, almost curling under his arm as they headed towards the door and into the cool night air. And honestly, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little relieved to be away from the woman who'd been eyeing Reid up like an all-you-can-eat buffet.
