As they walked, Pietro wondered briefly if Wanda was squeezing his hand more than normal or if he was just imagining things. He didn't comment on it and never would. He also wouldn't mention the look in her eyes. Her fear was normal, to be expected, and Pietro didn't want to make her feel embarrassed for it.
"It's alright," Pietro said. He looked back once at the mugger and then made a face in the direction where he'd left his car. It seemed farther than he remembered. Almost absentmindedly, he said, "I think I left the door open."
