The freedom in her schedule was one thing that Ozma knew she was probably going to have to say goodbye too when she ‘retired’ from her modeling career to start following her other interests. Less nights staying out drinking and making new friends during the week and probably a lot less days spent like this - spending the afternoon shopping with a friend after a late lunch. It would be worth it though if she could make it all work. Her lawyers were still drawing up the paperwork for all of it, making sure she stayed within the boundaries of the law with her center. “You know what we need? Or what I need? Some new art. Let’s check out that gallery up there.” Ozma said spotting the place a few doors ahead and leading her friend towards it. No statues of course because she wasn’t sure she’d be able to resist the temptation to bring one to life. But a new painting could be nice. She’d been wanting to redecorate for a little bit. The money she made was going to be something else she missed actually.

It was another day at the gallery for Niklaus. His days had become a bit mundane ever since Tyler stopped coming around. Not that he would ever admit it. He missed having someone to boss around without pay. Someone to do all the minuscule tasks he didn’t want to do himself. He was probably going to have to hire an assistant soon. But for now Klaus was doing the majority of the work.
However, at this particular moment Klaus didn’t mind being in the gallery. Not when there was a gorgeous woman in his gallery. “Can I help you find anything, love?”
***
Just as they’d stepped through the door her companions phone had gone off and he’d slipped off to answer it with an apologetic smile and a promise to be back as soon as he could. Before she could miss him too much a man came up to her with an accent that she had no trouble placing as British and she turned to face him, a quick once over showing that he was very good looking to go with that accent. Which even as an Australian she wasn’t immune to finding sexy. She gave him a quick smile as she answered his question.
“I’m looking for some new paintings. New decor for a new season. Any recommendations? I want something special.”
***
“Well,” Klaus replied with a devilish grin. “You came to the right place. Everything in my gallery is special.” Or Klaus wouldn’t have chosen it.
“What’s your poison? Surrealism? Impressionism? Abstract?” he paused looking her over. “Perhaps pointillism?”
***
“Fate must have led me to your gallery then. Especially to find it a time when the owner himself could help me find a piece.” Ozma said noticing the way he looked her over but it didn’t bother her.
“Please tell me you weren’t teasing about the pointillism,” she said, tilting her head slightly so that she could look him in the eye.
***
That devilish grin spread even further across his face. Perhaps a little too proud that he had guessed her taste correctly. Of course he usually did. When it came to art, Niklaus Mikaelson knew his stuff.
“I would never joke about pointillism,” Klaus replied holding out his arm for her to take. “We have some great pieces right over here.”
***
There was something almost dangerous in that grin but Ozma liked it. She’d been playing things far too safely since her breakup with Elsa, going through precautions to keep from hurting someone else.
She slid her arm into Klaus’ so he could lead her through the gallery. “Good to know. I’ve been to some galleries around the world that can’t claim the same. And a few who wouldn’t even know what it is.”
***
“What a shame,” Klaus said as he walked her over to the pointillism section of the gallery. There weren’t a ton of pieces. Only about six or so. But it was still a selection. “I am particularly fond of this piece,” Klaus said nodding at one of the works. “The way the light hits the colors is exquisite.”
***
Ozma looked over the piece he pointed out, unable to help but imagine it in her living room. It would play off the other colors already in the room. And would be fun to try to make the new furniture work with. She might have to rethink some of the pieces she’d already picked out. But she didn’t want to play her hand so quickly and pick up the first piece he recommended. “It’s lovely but I was hoping for something with a bit more green to it. You could say it’s my color in a way.” She joked, free hand gesturing at the green dress and heels she had on. She knew it was the color that flattered her most.
***
“And it looks good on you,” Klaus replied. But alright. He didn’t have to pick one of his favorites. Not everyone had the same taste as him. Though to be honest every work in his gallery was his taste. Otherwise he wouldn’t have picked it. He led her over to another piece which had a cooler pallette. More greens and blues. “There’s this one.”
***
Ozma tilted her head slightly as she studied the piece. This one would fit perfectly in that space right across from her bed. Something soothing and lovely to look at as she drifted off to sleep at night. And something that Chris might appreciate when she was watching him for Leon, before he drifted off to sleep and she moved him to the guest room. “Why am I not surprised to discover just how superb your taste is?”
***
“Probably because you are a good judge of character,” Klaus replied with with a knowing smirk on his face. “Can I assume you’ll be purchasing this piece? Or would you like to look around a bit more?” Klaus was fine with either option. Of course he wanted to make a sale, but he wouldn’t mind spending more time showing a gorgeous woman around his gallery.
***
“I’ll be purchasing it. But I wouldn’t mind looking around a bit more. I have a property I’m going to be purchasing soon that will need artwork in it as well. Something that will appeal to more than just my personal tastes since it’ll be something of a public space.” Ozma told him, not even thinking about the cost. She could handle it. It just might mean less money spent on new palettes for a few weeks. She could afford that sacrifice.

Klaus nodded, motioning for one of his employees. He instructed them to take down the painting and get it ready to go. Once that was taken care of he turned his attention back to the red head. “Well then,” he said holding out his arm for her. “Let me show you around.”
