Who:Stiles and Cisco
What:catching up and chatting
When:March 25th
Where:Their house
Warnings:None
Cisco had just gotten back from work. He’d changed into some more comfortable lounging clothes, and returned downstairs. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with himself except to plop down in front of the communal t.v. and pick up one of the game controllers. He was picking away at Kingdom Hearts whenever he got the time to. It was a fun and cute mindless sort of game. Disney comboed with Square Enix? Um, yes please.
He put his feet up on the little coffee table in front of them and watched the loading screen as he selected through options. He noticed on his phone down near his feet that he had a missed call from his mom, but he didn’t look at it just yet. He wasn’t sure how to approach her after the last year of stuff had gone on.
So for the time being, he just relaxed. It was pretty late when he got home that night, eleven thirtyish. Not like there was much else to do. He wasn’t sure if Stiles was home or not, but if he was in his room he might be asleep. Cisco didn’t want to risk waking him up, so he just took a little bit of game time and got lost in the world of Disney and heartless for a bit.
---
Stiles hadn’t been home yet. He had been at work himself and then he took his sweet time coming home as well. But once he did get home, he dropped his backpack by the door and watched Cisco for a moment before he walked over and plopped down on the couch. “What are you playing?” He asked before he looked at the screen and saw exactly which game Cisco was playing.
He was kind of surprised that Cisco was even sitting here. It seemed like lately his friend was working a lot of late hours, which meant they hadn’t been catching each other lately. And it probably didn’t help that Stiles might have been hiding a little. He screwed up the other night. He knew he did and he wasn’t sure if he should talk to somebody about it or just keep it to himself and pretend like it never happened.
*
It’d been a while since Cisco wa able to just sit around and play games. He missed it. Frankly he was starting to think he’d have more time than ever since apparently he kept missing Stiles since the weekend. The guy had shown up for his birthday but come to think of it he’d been pretty scarce too.
“Catching up on Kingdom Hearts Three.” He said with a glance before looking back at the screen. He wasn’t sure what else to say. Had he done something worth avoiding? ...Maybe Stiles had just been busy. “Haven’t gotten to play together in a while. “
---
“Cool,” he said as he kept his eyes on the tv. “Yeah, we both have been kind of busy lately.” He glanced over at Cisco. He didn’t say much else for a little while. He was fine just watching Cisco play the video game. But he really did need somebody to talk to since he couldn’t get the thing off of his mind. “Sooooo, I did something stupid last week.”
*
“I don’t like it. That needs to stop.” He gave a half smile as Stiles sat next to him to watch him play. He offered over the controller in the break of a fight “Want to try?” But then raised an eyebrow as Siles seemed content to watch him play. It wasn’t too often these days he just got quality console time so he took advantage of it now.
“What do you mean?” Was that why he seemed so scarce lately? Every time Cisco went looking for him recently he hadn’t found him.
---
“Stop living at the lab then,” he teased as he gave Cisco as light, playful push. He shook his head and said, “nah.” He really was fine just watching Cisco play.
“Well,” he started, “I went to help Derek with this whole wolfy thing during the full moon. And we were talking and things were fine. Then he grabbed me and kissed me. I didn’t stop him. I didn’t move away. I...went along with it.”
*
Cisco grinned at that, and gave him a nudge in turn as Sora was attacked by something or another on the screen. “See what you made me do, tsk. Brat.” He snickered as he regained control over the game and managed to not die by some miracle. The graphics on it were good, almost over kill in some spots but he was enjoying it.
The engineer glanced over at him, as Sora took more than half his damage wheel in one hit with Cisco suddenly not paying even a little attention. “He kissed you? He didn’t do anything else did he?” He didn’t attack Stiles? “Do I need to go drag a certain cold gun out of storage?”
---
“I didn’t do anything. It’s not my fault you’re not paying attention to what is going on on screen.” He flashed Cisco and quick smile, but the goofiness didn’t last long.
“Yeah,” he said with a nod of his head. “He kissed me,” he repeated. “No, you don’t need to do that. He didn’t hurt me. If that’s what you’re worried about.”
*
“Tch, your fault.” He insisted. For a minute he considered putting the game controller down, but he didn’t know how to have this conversation without something to do with his hands. “Does Scott know?” What about them? Who the hell was Derek anyway?
“...Lame, I really was hoping you’d say yes.” He tried for humor anyway, he wanted to use the cold gun on someone who deserved it.
*
Stiles quickly shook his head. “No, Scott doesn’t know. You’re the first person I’ve told.” And he was kind of surprised that he was saying anything at all. “I don’t know if I want to tell him.” Actually, no, he didn’t want to tell Scott anything. He was afraid of what might happen if he did tell Scott. “I’m sorry. I’ll find somebody for you to use the cold gun on,” he half joked.
*
Cisco frowned a bit as he lowered the controller to his lap and glanced over at his friend. “You realize if he asks me anything I’m probably the worst liar in the history of the world, right?” He was glad Stiles hadn’t ever pushed him about his job or he’d have probably just spilled the whole secret government lab thing right on the spot. He couldn’t lie to him. “I mean in the end it’s your call and I’ll try not to blow it, but..are you going to keep seeing this guy and Scott?”
---
Now Stiles seemed to have Cisco’s full attention and now he wished Cisco would go back to looking at the video game. “Learn to lie better.” He didn’t really think Scott would be asking Cisco anything. It wasn’t like Scott had been around in a while. “Don’t say anything if you can help it,” he said. “I don’t know. I mean, it’s not like I want to date this guy. I just wanted to help him. I didn’t think it would turn into what it turned into the other night.”
*
“I don’t want to.” He frowned a bit. “I lived most of my life surrounded by lies.” Becoming one was not what he wanted. “But I won’t go out of my way to tell him either. We don’t really hang out.” He didn’t know why, but whatever. It was what it was. He had Stiles, and Stiles was more entertaining anyway. “Help him with what?” He raised an eyebrow as he put the game controller down on the table in front of them. Nope, sorry he wasn’t going back to playing just now.
---
Stiles didn’t want to make Cisco lie. He just didn’t want Cisco saying anything ot Scott. Hopefully nothing would ever be asked that would make Cisco share any of what he has said tonight. “Well,” he started, watching as Cisco turned his full attention onto him. “He’s a werewolf. He was having trouble with the full moon, so I offered to help him out.” He just never thought the night would include making out with Derek.
*
“At least it won’t be awkward if I don’t ask him to the movies or something.” Unlike Stiles he just didn’t find much in common with him. Scott was a nice guy though, so he felt a little bad about it-but he just would stick to his not seeking him out thing and hope that worked out. “Isn’t that like playing with fire already? Don’t they get all….weird?” He made a movement with his fingers he wasn’t sure exactly how to convey into words. One that meant wild though probably. Excitable maybe. Cisco had some news of his own too, but it was long since forgotten with Stiles. Not nearly as interesting. “How is it you get two guys just by looking at them?” The important questions.
---
“He would actually have to be around anyway…” Stiles just shrugged it off, worrying about it a little less. “Yeah, it is. But he woke up somewhere completely different without even realizing it during the last full moon. I didn’t want anyone getting hurt, so that’s why I said I would help him during this latest full moon. I had him chained to the bed.” Which was why he didn’t really think too much of what could happen during the night. “Umm, I don’t know. It wasn’t like I was seeking anything out with Derek.” He really hadn’t been looking to be with Scott either until Danny kept pestering them about it. If that hadn’t happened, he was pretty sure nothing would be going on with them right now. “At least you got the hot doc when we were on vacation,” he pointed out.
*
“Yeah, I haven’t seen him in a while.” Cisco frowned a bit as he glanced over at him. “But I figured he was at least with you.” He didn’t like that. He thought Scott was a good guy, but if he was even avoiding Stiles then maybe it wasn’t so bad Stiles sought someone who was actually around. “Yeah, but that’s literally it. I’ll probably just die alone.” Dramatic, but at this rate he was going to be a fully grown adult without a real boyfriend or girlfriend to speak of. He smirked and picked up the controller. Maybe there was something wrong with him, both of his friends could find someone.
---
“I haven’t either. I guess he’s been busy and I’ve been busy and we’ve just been not on the same schedule.” He shook his head. “Nope, he hasn’t been with me.” Stiles was either alone, hanging out with Cisco or Derek lately. No Scott to speak of. “You’re not going to die alone. There’s somebody out there for you.” He reached over and patted Cisco on the shoulder. “Isn't there anyone that you have your eye on?”
*
“Hm..I guess it happens, I mean we kept missing eachother and live in the same house, but that sucks. I’m sorry.” He didn’t really know what else to say. “Hopefully he’ll come around soon. Send inappropriate selfies?” He didn’t remember the actual name for those, but he liked the sound of inappropriate selfie anyway. It amused him. “No, I mean a few. But also not really? I don’t know. I’m confused.” One minute he wanted someone and the next he didn’t want anyone at all.
---
“It’s fine.” They both had things to do, so he wasn’t mad or anything that they kept on missing one another lately. They were talking now. So, all was good. “I really don’t feel like doing that.” He didn’t really do the whole send nudes thing. And he wasn’t going to do it to get Scott’s attention. “What exactly are you confused about?”
*
“I’ve been working on a lot lately, trying to get my powers to cooperate for one..I’ve made significant progress there. I don’t know how to control them yet, but they don’t cripple me like they used to.” Which was good with Barry being around now, he didn’t really want to freak him out on the power level while he was still wary of even wearing the suit. That wouldn’t work well. Cisco shrugged as he leaned back on the couch and looked up at the ceiling. “I don’t know. Some days it’d be nice to be with someone, and then I freeze up around most people that even try. Maybe I don’t want anyone? But that also sucks.” He was lonely, but enjoyed his space as well. “I don’t know what I want.”
---
“I would say that’s a lot of progress.” He had noticed that Cisco hadn’t been in so much pain lately unlike when they were first hanging out. And that made him happy because Cisco definitely didn’t deserve to be in that much pain. Stiles shifted on the couch so that he could look at Cisco better as he spoke. “You seemed to have fun with the hot doctor. Even if I had to do all the texting,” he said with a grin. “Maybe you’re too shy?” Or maybe Cisco was right and he really didn’t want anybody.
*
“Yeah, I’ve had a few more visions since then too. “ So he knew it wasn’t just luck or whatever, it was actual progress. He could function almost daily these days. He was still a little jealous that he was getting “Yeah but the problem is getting there on my own. Even drunk it’s hard for me.” He frowned a little as he leaned his arms on his knees. “I doubt you’re going to want to do every weird text for me.” Unless he did, which would honestly just fix a lot of problems for him but it wasn’t all that reasonable. He wasn’t always going to be around Stiles.
---
“Nothing bad, I hope.” The fact that Stiles was barely getting told about them right now had to mean they weren't bad or Cisco would have brought it up sooner. “Maybe you’re overthinking it,” he said with a shrug. “You know I would. I had fun talking to the hot doctor. But I know I can’t always be around to do it for you. We just need to get you to be less shy and more confident.”
*
“Just the same ones. No worse anyway. It’s just tiring” He hadn’t spoken about them because he didn’t want to worry his friend more. It was all the same creepy executioner looking villain from his dreams. Some real, some made up. Some dream. “How? Pretty sure we’ve tried it all. I’m just not good infront of people unless it’s to do with science or medical advancement-and believe you me th hot doctor was one in a million. Not all of them are like him.” He admitted with a roll of his eyes. “It’s not like House, or Grey’s Anatomy, none of those shows are accurate to what doctors actually act like.” There were no steamy romances in the break room or beds of patients. Nothing like that at all. It was almost a little disappointing he hadn’t walked in on anything weird. And yet, he was glad. As much as he may pretend like he wanted details, Cisco was a shy person by nature.
“What do you think of Barry?”
---
“It could be worse,” he said with a shrug. “Hmm, well think of dating as some science experiment. Maybe that’ll help you break out of your shyness.” It seemed like a good idea. “Duuuh, I didn’t think it was like that. Still, you had fun, didn’t you?” And that had been the whole point. “Hmm,” he thought about it for a moment. “From what you’ve told me and shown me, he seems nice enough. But here’s my question: is he straight, bi, bi-curious, or gay?”
*
“Science isn’t alive, it can’t respond.” It couldn’t reject him. Or hurt him. He gave a little thoughtful frown to his friends question. “Well yeah. I haven’t heard anything from him since then though. I wonder if I messed up somehow.” Maybe he hadn’t been as good as he had been on vacation and hot doctor was done with him? He frowned a bit. “He is. I don’t think he’s gay, but I have no idea about the other things. I was hoping you could just..tell.” He responded with a bit of a deflated sulk as he leaned on his knees. “I mean he’s let me sleep with him but that was all it was.”
---
“Do I have to help you get somebody again?” Because Stiles will totally do it. If he had to drag Cisco to a bar or something and find him another hottie, he would do it. “Oh. Well, he was just for fun. Now we need to find someone else for you,” he said with a smile. “Did he do anything when you were in the same bed?”
---
Cisco wasn’t too sad about lack of phone calls from hot doc at least, but it was a little confusing. One minute that guy was all over him, and the next-not even a text. He leaned back on the couch and glanced over at his friend. “I don’t want just fun I don’t think though.” He wanted someone who would still be there in a week. “No...but apparently I had my hand under his shirt the whole time and he didn’t protest much. I don’t even remember it though..He did say next time it happened though. Maybe there can be a next time?” He didn’t know what it meant with Barry. “I guess he doesn’t hate me in his bed though.” That was a bonus, even if he said he didn’t get much sleep as a result.
---
“I can’t really help you there. My relationship is falling apart and I’ve never really liked them.” Stiles wasn’t going to get into detail about why he would rather not have a relationship. This wasn't about him. It was about Cisco. “So, see what happens. Don’t push anything.” That was really all the advice that he had. “It sounds like it.”
*
“Why not?” He knew Scott and Stiles hadn’t been talking lately-he didn’t like it. But had something else happened to make him dislike relationships? He frowned at the deflection and put a controller in his hands. “Your turn.” Whether he wanted it or not, they both seemed to need a distraction then.
---
“I just don’t…” He didn’t want to talk about, so getting the controller shoved into his hands was perfect. “My turn,” he repeated and turned his attention to the TV so that he could take over and play.
