Cameron was watching Polly preen himself. She was sitting on the couch, legs curled up underneath her and her sketch pad in her lap as she tried to capture the parrot. Or the essence of the parrot. That was it, she was trying to capture the essence of the parrot.
She smelled dinner cooking and wrinkled up her nose. Not because it smelled bad, but because it smelled familiar, "Sarah is cooking pancakes, Polly. I'll share."
