"Ooh, biomed! Do you get to fuck with genes and all that stuff, or just fit pig-hearts to human-people?" Jaz asked as she chewed her cake. When Cisco mentioned that he helped build toys for field-use her smile grew, "now that's a job I can totally get behind! Nice work," she would have given him a high-five but her fingers were already covered in icing and she doubted the guy would appreciated her sharing.
"It's possible I show up unannounced from time to time," she answered with a sly smile Cisco's way. "Or I crash a party," Jaz told him with all innocence gone as she thought of the dinner she'd crashed with Mitch and Lydia. She'd sure as shit livened up that meal!
She shut the hell up and listened when he started to talk about the visions. "So if there was an earthquake or a major storm you might get a flash of it but if I was gonna get hit by a truck, not so much?" Jaz concluded. "That has to be... really nasty," she said feeling Cisco's pain from the expression on his face. The guy might be into science but researching this stuff sounded like it would hurt too much. "When you say it's painful, do you mean emotionally or physically?" If he was willing to talk about his stuff, she was willing to probe. It was a trait she couldn't help and put some people off but those who stuck around were usually worth keeping.
"Right. Sorry. I mean, I wasn't sure if you had one just now with the coffee cup or me or..." maybe he was just joking about and until Jaz had all the information she hadn't gotten the joke. "Oops," she said with a grin as she saw him give his coffee a worried glance.
