There was, for the first time, a hint of uneasiness about the whole 'surprise date' thing when Stiles told him he'd hold out if the whole thing sucked. "I don't think it's going to suck," Scott replied with a smile, "mostly because you're here and whatever happens next will be fun. We'll make it fun," he said with a rising confidence. Even if this turned out to be the worst idea he'd ever had he figured the teasing he'd get for it would at least make Stiles laugh enough to be worth it.
"Wow, there's going to be a second date already?" Scott answered with a chuckle, "I'm hedging my bets here. Besides, now you're asking for rings I'm not sure I can take the commitment," he teased right back. Hell, that Stiles was going on an actual date might as well be them walking down the aisle about now, let alone putting a ring on his finger! Scott slipped his arm around his shoulders and nodded, "I guess I'm just happy," he said giving his neck a soft kiss. "When I'm happy I tease you, you didn't work that out yet?"
The car finally pulled off the highway and into the palm-lined streets of West Hollywood. After more turns than he could comfortably remember they pulled up in front of a restaurant. "Come on," Scott said as he grabbed Stiles' hand and exited the car with a nod to the driver. "First we eat, then we change clothes," he said with a grin.
