Anakin remembered that she’d told him it was possible he could just wake up from a Dream and be that monster. Overnight. But was that different from him making a mistake while awake and falling to the Dark Side?
The end was the same for both scenarios.
“Who would turn me back if I work up him?” It wasn’t spoken in anger or bitterness, but with resignation to reality.
From all that he’d learned since he started Dreaming, turning someone back from the Datk Side was monumentally difficult. And dangerous. How many people would pay with their life to give him a second chance?
His shoulders fell despite the cold.
“I’ve changed my mind... about... what I asked you to do if I fall.” He didn’t distinguish between voluntary or Dream-decided. “You don’t have find a way to take me out.” His voice grew quieter. “I’m sorry I demanded that before.”
He’d now seen what such a request did to Ahsoka and he’d realized how wrong it was of him to put that responsibility on anyone.
