One of the things Noah liked most about the kids in his life was how unbelievably smart and intuitive they were. Cisco talking gave him an insight he hadn't quite appreciated of the rest of the town prior to their conversation. "That makes a lot of sense, now that you mention it," he said nodding slowly as the idea threw a whole new light on everything he'd seen since they'd moved here. "Also explains why Scott didn't notice a lot of the shit that went down around these parts until he moved here, huh?" cause it made no sense until you couldn't ignore it anymore. "Huh," Noah said after a long pause during which he watched the passers by more closely and with new insight, "talking a lot of sense there, Cisco. Ever wish you were that clueless?" he asked as he watched a teenager pick up a snowball and throw it at a snow-zombie's head. Nothing. No reaction. Like neither was aware of the other and it made him ache a little for the danger that Stiles and the rest dealt with every day.
Noah slid a grin Cisco's way and gave his hair a ruffle, "careful what you wish for, kid," he told him. Yeah, he'd probably be as repulsed by the affection as Stiles, but he wasn't about to stop letting these guys know they were important to him, even if it did screw with their dos. "Really? That's pretty cool," he said with a nod of approval. "I wouldn't recommend it to everyone but there are worse ways to earn a living," he answered with a smile. It felt like he worked all his waking hours some days but Noah couldn't remember going to bed without feeling a sense of satisfaction in his day, even if it was just in his job as parent. "I have a good life," Noah told Cisco honestly.
He was relieved Cisco agreed to being fed. It'd give Noah a chance to make sure he was really okay - delayed shock could be a real fucker once you realised danger had passed. "Let's hope Stiles left us something in the fridge, huh?" Noah answered as he pulled off once more and headed for home, radioing into the station to let them know he'd taken off early for lunch. "And when you see him, tell my son I fixed you a real healthy salad, you hear me?" he teased.
