The concept of the veil was fairly new to Noah but the way Cisco described it fit what he'd observed himself. "I hadn't really thought too much about all of it until just a little while ago," admitting it made him feel something of a fool, particularly given his job, but getting a chance to talk about it with a fellow traveller was also something of a relief. "Mentioned it on the network and that's when I started putting the pieces together. Still don't get why the locals can't see what we see," he said as much to himself as to Cisco.
At least now Cisco was starting to warm up some, even if he was sticking to the seats. "Here," Noah hit up the heater, "help you dry off. Maybe get rid of you sooner," Noah flashed him a smile that told him he was anything but serious. "I'll tell you this much, when I started this job no one warned me about the zombie snow," he answered with a chuckle, "but yeah, it's an all-year round thing, making sure people aren't assholes to one another."
Noah watched Cisco carefully as he started to calm down, making sure there was no after-effects or shock setting in. He seemed to be doing okay but he wasn't going to take any chances. "How about I get you back to my place?" he suggested. "You look like you could use a hot meal and a change of clothes. Then I can consider my duty done," he told him with a raised eyebrow.
