Who: Nine & Chase Stein When: -backdated- To The Night Prior To The Release Of Rita's Gossip Release Where: A Nightclub What: Meeting/Flirting Rating: PG-13 (mention of sexual acts) Status: Complete
Chase knew that he was playing a dangerous game with his fake ID considering it was known that he was only 18 in the press. But he had a damn good fake ID and sometimes drinking in his apartment just wasn’t what he wanted to do and the bartenders and bouncers could always claim that they didn’t realize who he was if he got caught. It was how he got away with buying alcohol from the liquor store the past year. And he paid really well for his little brushes with the police to get kept out of the press on the occasions when he just couldn’t avoid them.
Tonight he’d chosen to go to a club that was a little out of the way, not exactly one of his normal party spots but one of the DJ’s he liked was booked for the night so he knew he’d have fun. He’d gotten past the VIP rope easily enough and was sitting comfortably with a beer and a blonde trying to get his attention. And yeah he was flirting with her a little but it was more a way to pass the time until someone or something more interesting came along.

Nine had spent most of the day, and the past few days, with Jace. The whole thing left Nine feeling confused about his feelings and after a brief conversation with his “friend,” they settled on hanging out with other people for a while. It wasn’t like Nine could Just seclude himself with Jace, while the other recovered from his injuries. In all honesty, Nine just didn’t want to realize that his relationship with Jace had shifted.
So, there he was. Out at a random club, on a weeknight, which wasn’t normal for him. He needed a distraction; someone who didn’t frequent the places where he’d been with Jace. Luckily, there were many places that fit the bill and he didn’t waste any time getting a beverage and finishing as he took a seat in the VIP section. It wasn’t long before he had a new drink and was scanning the crowd.
His eyes focused on a good-looking guy who seemed to be casually flirting with some blond girl. The guy seemed familiar but Nine couldn’t exactly place him. Still, he smirked and nursed his new drink.
***
Chase really was trying to pay attention to...whatever it was the girl beside him was going on about. He just couldn’t quite bring himself to focus on her. It was weird to him now - how easily people bought into the coverups that about the weird things that went on. Oh the demons and zombies showing up out of nowhere were just a campaign for a product launch that was coming. Sure right. Except...what product? When was it dropping? And why the hell had their campaign included violence to innocent people? Those were the questions that nobody seemed to care to ask and the people who did realize that it was bullshit...well they were all on the Network and knew what was really going on. Someone’s dreams had brought this shit to the area. He’d stayed out of it as much as he could, knowing that there wasn’t anything he could do other than stay out of it so that he didn’t make more trouble for people and right now - that was his plan for whatever else came out of these Dreams. Unless the Pride showed up he wasn’t getting involved. He sighed as he realized that his attention had wandered again, giving the girl a cocky smile before draining his beer. “Martini right? I’ll be right back,” he said, extracting himself quickly to go get them each another drink, noticing his chair taken by another guy and asking the girl working the VIP area to take the martini to her since clearly she’d found better company.
His heart just wasn’t into playing the game tonight. Some girl just wanting to get with him because he was a celebrity and she’d be set if she got seen with him. Or more so got pregnant by him. He’d seen too many of his teammates get tangled up in that kind of shit over the past two years. He noticed somebody watching him but they didn’t have that look he’d come to recognize of somebody who was a FAN - and yeah there was a difference between them and just fans - so he figured it was safe enough to go over there and grab an empty seat. He lifted the beer in the direction of the blonde as her drink got dropped off and then turned his attention away from her and caught the eye of the dark haired guy beside him. “Hey.” The guy wasn’t bad looking and there was something a little familiar about him. Almost like Chase had seen him around in passing or something.
***
Yeah, this guy was definitely familiar in some way. However, as active Nine was with his own social media, he didn’t exactly check out other people’s unless he knew them quite well, or they were someone who he aspired to be like. This guy appeared to be younger than him but he was still cute, just the same.
He nodded to the other as he took a seat. “How’s it going?” he asked, glancing to the blond woman. “Seems like you blew your chance.” Nine chuckled and took a sip from his drink. “Although, you wouldn’t be missing out on much.” The girl was certainly someone Nine recognized, after a few run-ins where she embarrassed herself by trying to force herself onto Nine. Desperation & attention-seeking was quite the turn off for him.
After a bit, he stretched out his hand to the other. “Stanley…” he offered. “Nice to meet you.”
***
Chase forced himself to sound reluctant as he answered that comment about blowing his chance. “I know. I’m just kicking myself for it.” The barely contained laughter probably blew any chance of convincing anyone that he was actually upset about it. “I got that impression. A little too hungry for fame to actually bring anything worth it.” He liked to live his life as far under the radar as he could between seasons and people like that didn’t strike him as feeling the same way.
He took another drink, watching the crowd of people on the dance floor. He noticed movement off to the side and turned his head slightly, smiling as he reached out to shake the other man’s hand. “Chase. So...anybody else in here I should pass on getting to know better from your experience?”
***
As per usual, Nine gave Chase a firm handshake. The guy mentioned that the girl was fame hungry and it made the fitness enthusiast think about who Chase really was but he failed to recall a famous Chase. Not that it mattered, he certainly wasn’t socializing out of need for more fame.
A small chuckle left Nine’s mouth and he glanced around the establishment. “The couple that’s hanging out awfully close to the DJ booth. Very high-maintenance, and quite demanding that this place plays awful music.” His eyes scanned the crowd and he nodded to a girl at the end of the bar. “Woman at the end of the bar...who looks perpetually angry. Doesn’t like to socialize with anyone, or so it would seem. I think she is dating one of the bartenders and is here to keep an eye on him.” Nine shrugged. “Your best bet is to just stay with me...but I may be a bit biased on the matter,” he added with a wink.
***
Chase followed Nine’s gaze as the dark haired man looked around the club. “I was wondering why the DJ wasn’t playing more of their normal stuff.” He said, frowning as he looked over the pair constantly pestering the DJ. “Yeah...I don’t need any relationship drama like that in my life. So thanks for the heads up.” He turned his attention back to Nine with a curious look on his face. He knew he was being flirted with but it didn’t bother him - he was kind of used to it. “I have to ask before I make my choice - what do I get if I just stay here with you?” His tone making it obvious he was teasing.
***
Nine couldn’t help but smirk as Chase proposed his question. “Good conversation, for starters...a few drinks, and some very close dancing...after that, I’d hope you’d be up for a night at my place…” He added a wink to imply what he truly meant. “If that’s your thing, of course. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t come out in hopes of finding an attractive person to take home.” He saw no reason to lie. He didn’t exactly want to waste his time with someone that wasn’t looking for a night of fun.
***
“Why don’t we see how the dancing goes before I say yes to the night at your place.” Chase suggested. He’d never been with a guy before but he wasn’t about to just say no to the opportunity flat out. “I came out to have some fun, maybe try something new. And generally this DJ isn’t bad.” He said with a shrug as he sipped his beer. “Sound like a plan you can work with?”
***
“Sounds like a good enough plan…” Nine replied with a small nod. He wasn’t the type to pressure and at least, he could get some dances with this guy. “Although, you forgot to factor in a few drinks, maybe even some shots.” He chuckled and took another drink. “So, shall we?” he asked as he nodded to the dance floor. “If we’re lucky, the DJ will play something worth dancing to.”
***
“I did leave out the drinks didn’t I? Sorry about that. I’ll never turn down a beer or two. Shots even better. Especially whiskey.” Chase said with a grin of his own. “Think this place will let people get away with body shots?” He asked, the question coming out innocently even though he didn’t really mean it that way. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d had a guy do shots off him. It was kind of fun actually. “I think I might be able to help with that. I know the guy from around so I can put in a request and maybe get it bumped near the top.” Chase said with a half shrug, almost like he was shy about it but his smirk showed that wasn’t the case.
***
“As long as you don’t make a mess, they do.” Nine gave Chase a wink. “So, whiskey shots?” he asked as he began to head to the bar. “I think that you can handle a double.” He wasn’t trying to get Chase drunk, just trying to loosen him up a bit. The guy seemed willing enough but most people at bars didn’t exactly turn away free alcohol.
***
“Whiskey works. Or bourbon if they’ve got anything good.” Chase said mildly. He’d had some hits and misses at bars around here with bourbon but it was always something he looked for when he was ready to move from beer to something harder. “I’ll meet you on the dance floor with the drinks, see what I can get done.” He made his way over to the DJ booth, talking with him for a few minutes and getting him to agree to play something actually worth dancing too.
***
Nine smirked as Chase began to wander towards the DJ booth. It was certainly a nice view and Chase seemed like he’d be fun. So, Nine made his way to the bar and got a couple of double shots to start off with. It wasn’t long before he was making his way onto the dance floor, glancing around for Chase.
***
Chase had found a spot near the DJ booth that he could watch his new friend approach with their drinks without being on the dance floor while he waited for the set to switch, ignoring the young woman trying to get his attention that Nine had pointed out as a media whore earlier. There were enough people in the club tonight that had some kind of status that he was pretty sure she’d luck out eventually with one of them hooking up with her. He watched as Nine came towards him, drinks in hand and moved just enough to draw his attention to him when he saw him looking around.
“A couple of people beat me to him but he’s switching it up here for us soon.” He said, reaching out to take one of the drinks from his hand.
***
Nine listened and handed Chase his drink. Leaning towards Chase’s ear, he offered a ‘toast,’ “Bottoms up!” He winked at Chase and downed his doubleshot with ease; after all, trying to dance with a glass in hand would have been a chore. Lucky for them, a passing bartender was approaching, taking empty glasses from patrons. Nine was feeling eager to dance up against Chase, letting a hand slip to the other’s waist to pull him closer.
***
Chase knew the different ways that ‘toast’ could be taken but he wasn’t going to worry about it right now. Or at all. He hadn’t agreed to anything other than a couple drinks and dancing. If they got to a point where he wasn’t comfortable going any further that’s when he’d worry. If he wasn’t comfortable. He downed his drink, passing off his glass to the bartender as Nine pulled him in close. “Thought you wanted something worth dancing too.” He teased, pressing against him as they moved back onto the dance floor.
***
Nine smirked. “It’d be pretty weird of us to not dance while we are on the dance floor...wouldn’t it?” he pointed. “Besides, who knows how long it could be before the good stuff gets played?” He chuckled and began to move to the beat of the music.
***
“I could think of a few things that would be weirder for us to do on the dance floor.” Chase said, teasing him just a little bit as they danced. “You in some kind of rush now?” He asked, watching out of the corner of his eye as the girl who’d been trying to get his attention stomped off.
***
“I’m all ears…” Nine responded with a grin, not pausing his dancing. “I’ve got all night, but sometimes we all get into moods where some things seem more fun than others,” he explained, honestly. “I like to make sure those I spend time with are satisfied with our time together.”
***
Chase made it pretty obvious as he looked Nine over before grinning at him as he pushed a little tighter against him as the song changed. “Could have fooled me actually.” He was starting to relax and find his footing in this situation with Nine, flirting a little bit as he decided to just go with it and see where tonight went. “Oh yeah? So do I. Any complaints I should be warned about?” He asked, hoping the fact he was mostly joking was obvious.
***
“Can you blame me?” Nine replied. “Sometimes I see someone that makes me eager.” He was clearly referring to his dance partner and enjoyed as he pushed himself closer. “No complaints so far...what about you? Any jealous exes that are stalking you?” Nine smirked, glancing over towards the girl that had been watching Chase.
***
“You want the honest answer to that question or the polite one?” Chase asked him, one brow raised in curiosity. Politeness dictated he not admit to realizing how good looking he was but honesty - he spent a lot of time working out and a lot of money for clothes that would show off the results of his time. Granted sometimes what he ate was complete shit but - he took care of himself. “None that are in the area anyway. Why? You worried someone might try to mess up that face?”
***
“Honesty is the best policy…” Nine gave Chase a wink. There was nothing wrong with having pride in yourself. “And I only ask out of concern for the other person...i wouldn’t want to mess them up too bad.” He gave a chuckle and continued to dance with Chase. His muscles weren’t just for show and he knew how to handle himself.
***
“Well then the honest answer - I can’t blame you one bit.” Chase said with a cocky grin. Nine asked for the honest answer and he gave it to him. He reached out to touch his arms lightly, almost curiously before responding. “Well don’t worry yourself for them. There aren’t any in this club. Pretty sure they aren’t even in this city but...I could be wrong. It’s been known to happen a time or two. Although...if there were any here they’d probably have already made their presence known. Probably would have the second we came out on the dance floor if they were that jealous.”
***
That cocky grin...it suited Chase. “I have good taste,” he replied, teasingly. His hand gripped Chase’s hip, as their bodies moved together, to the music. “Lucky me...i get you all to myself.” Nine rolled his hips against Chase’s, not caring about anything else. “Would you care for another drink?”
***
“Question is what are you going to do while you have me?” Chase asked, the question slipping out of him easily as they danced together. “My turn to buy?” He said, getting the attention of a passing server to bring them another round.
***
Before the server got to them, Nine slipped his arm around Chase and held him tightly; “You’ll just have to wait and see to find out,” he growled into the other man’s ear before he gave it a sensual lick. Smiling, he pulled back, “As to the drinks, it would be only fair.”
***
That lick to his ear was definitely a surprise but it was a good one, one he wouldn’t at all mind experiencing again. Chase turned his face towards Nine when the other man pulled back. “And what if I’m not a patient person?” He asked, turning away before Nine could answer to tell the server to put the round on his tab. They had his card so it wasn’t like he could skip out without paying the bill.
***
“Seems like you’re the eager one, now,” Nine said with a smirk before he pulled Chase back to him. An arm wrapped around the younger man while the other slipped up Chase’s shirt. “I bet you taste better than any drink that is served here,” he said, his voice getting lustful. Their first shot was starting to take effect.
***
“I thought you wanted me to be honest here?” Chase teased, turning halfway into Nine as the other man’s hand slid under his shirt, almost shivering at that tone. The shot was definitely working with the beers he’d already had to relax him and make him more open to Nine’s flirting, to flirting back with him. “Want to find out?”
***
Nine knew and offer when he heard one and he held Chase tightly against his body, hand still up the you get man’s shirt before their lips came together in a heated kiss. His tongue ghosted over Chase’s lips, tasting his lips. It was a great combination of the booze they just had mixed with the saltiness of his skin.
Nine smirked against Chase’s mouth before he pulled back. “Wonder if the rest of you is as delicious.”
***
There was something different about kissing a guy and Chase wasn’t even going to try and lie and say he didn’t enjoy it. Not even to himself. He gave Nine a grin as the other man pulled back, raising one brow at that statement from the older man. “If I ask if you want to find out am I going to get the same type of response as I did the first time?” He teased, his own hand sliding up under Nine’s shirt to brush over his abs. Everytime he was torn between nervous and curious about a new opportunity that had presented itself he went with satisfying that curiosity.
***
“That depends,” Nie replied as his forehead rested against Chase’s. “How comfortable are you with public indecency?” Nine chuckled and licked Chase’s neck sensually, as his hands moved around to grip the other’s butt. “The things I want to do to you…” he growled, into Chase’s ear.
***
That growl almost undid him right there in the club and he tugged Nine closer by his shirt to kiss him hard. “Then let’s go. Because I’ve got some ideas of my own that’ll be a lot more comfortable someplace less crowded.”
