"Mm, no lasers. You just would have gone to the front desk and say who you were here to see." It really wasn't that over the top. Most days it was just... relatively normal work. They just also handled the strange things that happened and ensured that those who the government might otherwise be interested in weren't learned about. No need for that. Though she definitely understood why the idea was there. After all, the whole in the shadows thing they had going on.
First impressions could be hard. Though as far as Jemma was concerned, their first meeting was fine. Natasha was...Natasha and she was also used to it given her own life and dreams and her area of specialty with gathering information and going in and being an Avenger.
"There's nothing says you need to be a superhero. There are plenty of us here who aren't. We're just normal people. I'm certainly no superhero." Some things could be taught - Jemma was much better at using a gun now, and doing missions that Natasha needed her on. But superhero? Hardly. "Your articles and resume speak to your skill."
It really wasn't all that complicated as far as Jemma was concerned.
