Maybe she should have been in school but Glimmer really didn't see the point of wasting her time with class. The professor for her last class was a complete moron who just got annoyed with her when she corrected him any way so why go? This way she did not have to listen to his babble (half of which was wrong any how) and he didn't have to deal with her constantly correcting him. They both won if she cut class.
This was why she was out wondering the woods with her camera. As she fumbled in her bag she pulled out her macro lens and snapped it onto her camera. She didn't own a lot of nice things but her camera had been her one splurge with her money. It had taken her a summer of bagging groceries and dealing with annoying people to earn enough cash to buy it.
"Of course," Glimmer said lightly as she looked up at the stranger. "Why be in school and waste time learning things I already know. My time is far better spent out here." She wasn't sure everyone would agree but it was a good thing she didn't care what most people thought.
