After Anakin showed Kira through the main entrance on the first floor, he brought her to the "scariest" feature of the building, which was the building's elevator. It was essentially a large metal cage on cables and weights. It made scary sounds as it carried them to the third floor, but it was all bark and no bite. And on the plus side, it could carry a lot of things - a lot of big things.
But that was really the only negative, in Anakin's opinion, about this place.
After the tower-of-terror ride of the elevator, he showed her which metal door was his on the third floor: C-3, it still had its original yellow paint, or it mostly did, paint was scratched or chipping off in places.
But now they were inside.
"The space extends all the way back and goes that way," he hooked his hand to show there was more to see at the far end. "There are partial walls and we can extend them, or straight up build more, if we want to, as long as we don't mess with the foundational stuff, like plumbing. And," he pointed up, "We have some scaffolding, but we can always add more. There's a lot of vertical space that I haven't done anything with yet."
He looked at the windows with the plywood on them, then looked at Kira, "I'm not opposed to painting anything on them, I just haven't thought of anything yet."
And that was the theme here: Anakin's place had potential, he'd simply hadn't used it yet.
In the space that he had used, he'd covered tables and the floor with computers and computer parts, and various electronics and mechanical parts - there really didn't seem to be any kind of order to his work station other than a small section of the wall covered in various sized flat screens. Semi-chaotic.
And the kitchen, it was clear that he seemed to live on Uber eats, because the counters were covered in empty, disposable food containers. But underneath all that mess was a space with the potential to serve many, quality parties.
