Jessica was feeling pretty good for once. While she’d woken up in a ridiculous sandwich costume, her dream had consisted of her saving a little girl from being hit by a car, by standing in front of the car and stopping it with her bare hands. It felt great. It felt empowering. And as much as she didn’t care for the dreams, if they all turned out that way, well, she wouldn’t complain. At least, not too much.
For once, Jessica had contacted Klaus first and made arrangements to meet up with him later in the night. Because this was definitely a night to get drunk and get laid. She’d drank the better part of a bottle of whiskey, and then made the way over to Klaus’s.
“Hey,” she smiled, when he opened the door, and then she was pulling him into hungry kiss.
Klaus was in a somewhat good mood. At least he wasn’t in as bad of a mood as he had been the previous week when he was on the outs with Freya. But his sister was back where she belonged now and all was well in the life of Niklaus Mikaelson. Jessica calling was just the cherry on top.
“Hello to you too, love,” Klaus replied with that devilish grin of his before pulling her in for another kiss. His hands reached for her ass giving it a squeeze before cupping it to carry her up to his room, lips hungrily remaining on hers.
There was a part of Jessica that was annoyed when Klaus picked her up, but she was drunk enough that she didn’t care enough to make a fuss about it. Besides, who wanted to walk up all those stairs anyway? She’d just have to show him who was going to be in charge once they got up to the bedroom.
Once they walked into the room, Jessica tapped the door closed with her foot, and then twisted out of Klaus’ arms. “Tonight,” she said, her arms on his chest, “I’m in charge.” She shoved him onto the bed. At least, she had meant to shove him onto the bed. She definitely hadn’t meant for him to go flying through his window.
She winced at the sound of glass shattering, and then stared. It took a moment for her to gather her wits about her enough to go running to the window to look down, from the second floor of the house, at the ground. Oh god, what if she’d killed him?
Klaus usually took charge in the bedroom, or well in all things in life. However, hearing Jessica demand to be in charge, well it was a bit of a turn on. He would allow it for now. That was until she pushed him clear across the room and out the fucking window.
In the moments that Jessica was gathering her wits, Klaus had already used his vampire speed to rush back to his bedroom, eyes glowing yellow, fangs out. “What did you do?!” he demanded in a loud roar. “YOU CAME HERE TO KILL ME?” For most people that would be a bit of a jump. But for Klaus? People had tried to kill him numerous times in the dreams. He had currently just finished dreaming of his parents trying to kill him for the hundredth time.
Jessica jumped when Klaus flew back into the room. She had known that he was strong, but she hadn’t realized just how fast he was too. She had been about to apologize for throwing him out the window when yelled at her, and instead, she stared at him for a moment with a look of pure disbelief on her face. Because what kind of question was that?
“What?” she asked, clearly annoyed and flabbergasted.
“Don’t play stupid!” Klaus yelled. “Who hired you? Esther? Mikael?!” Klaus was good at making enemies. But he didn’t think Jessica wanted to kill him for herself. They had always gotten along well enough and the sex was good. This had to be his parents doing.
Was this guy for real? “Wow, you really think a lot of yourself, don’t you?” she asked, snidely, though she was completely floored by the accusation. Who the hell would come to a private eye to hire a hit on someone? They’d be coming to entirely the wrong person. And what exactly did Klaus think of Jessica if he thought she was a hired gun.
“Whatever, I’m out of here,” she said, moving to walk passed Klaus and out the door.
Klaus wasn’t about to let her get away. He rushed to the door blocking her from exiting. “You’re not going anywhere,” he growled. “Until you tell me what the fuck you just did,” a brief pause. “Or am I going to have to tear it out of you?” Along with her heart.
There was a part of Jessica that thought maybe, just maybe she should be scared of this guy, who was clearly insane. Let it never be said that Jessica Jones had good taste in men. But she had just thrown him through a window, and that had done a lot to make her a little more confident of herself. “I think we both know what I just did,” she said, though she didn’t take her eyes off of Klaus to look at the window. She didn’t trust him. “It was an accident, and I was going to apologize, but I’m over this. Get out of my way.”
Klaus wasn’t budging. “You don’t accidentally throw someone out of a window!” he shot right back at her. Never mind the fact that Klaus had done the exact same thing to Freya when he first got his powers. That little detail was slipping his mind at the moment. “Since when are you that strong? Have you been hiding that this whole time?!”
“Yeah, Klaus, I was just pretending to be crushed by that sink,” she said, sarcastically. He knew that she hadn’t been able to do anything then. Hell, he’d been the one to suggest that she might have super strength in her dreams.
She’d had enough of this. She had been hoping that he would have just moved, but that obviously wasn’t happening. So, instead, she moved to shove him sideways from the doorway so she could make her way through.
While what Jessica was saying actually made logical since, Klaus wasn’t buying it. When he got paranoid there was no reasoning with him. Though now that she mentioned it he did remember having to throw the sink off of her. Remembered how she told him about her strength in the dreams. He was about to say something when she caught him off guard and was strong enough to actually shove him out of the way.
Oh no she didn’t. Klaus used his speed to get in front of her. Blocking her way once again. “How long have you had these powers?!” he demanded, eyes still glowing yellow.
Jessica stepped away from him, trying to look around the room for a weapon or an escape route. She was really starting get worried now, her heart thumping in her chest. There was the window. If she could get close enough to that, she’d be able to jump out and away, hopefully before Klaus could use that super speed of his to catch her.
“Apparently, since about five minutes ago,” she snapped, taking another step backward toward the window, trying not to let the fear come through her voice or her face.
Klaus still wasn’t sure if he was buying her story or not. However the memory of accidentally throwing Freya out of the window did rush back to him. But it didn’t matter. The damage was done. He could no longer trust Jessica. “Just GET OUT!” He yelled at her finally stepping aside to let her exit the room.
“Gladly,” Jessica spat, shooting Klaus a dirty look as she walked out the door, trying very hard not to make her relief noticeable, though she didn’t quite succeed. She waited until she was out of sight of the bedroom, before running down the rest of the stairs and out the front door.
