Jeremy and Myrcella hadn’t really gone out and done anything, just the two of them in awhile. Over the last few weeks they’d either invited people over for cookouts and beach days or gone and hung out with friends so Jeremy had started thinking of somewhere they could go for a date that they hadn’t done in awhile and since neither of them had been to Disneyland in awhile, he’d brought it up to his fiance and now here they were, walking into the Happiest Place on Earth.
“What do you wanna do first?” He asked, lacing their fingers together as they walked amongst the crowd on Main Street.
Myrcella loved Disneyland so when Jeremy had suggested going it had taken zero persuading for her to say yes. They had done a lot of activities with friends lately so having a day just the two of them in the happiest place on earth was going to be wonderful.
“Shall we do the popular rides first?” she suggested, they were there fairly early so doing those rides before the lines got really long was a good idea.
“Matterhorn it is then,” Jeremy smirked as they reached Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and took the path to the right towards the large snow capped mountain, “Hey, so I was thinking; do you think Tommen would want to be a Groomsman at the wedding?” In a way Jeremy had Myrcella’s younger brother to thank for them even meeting. Had Myrcella not lost track of Tommen at the arcade that day, he wouldn’t have noticed her and offered to help her look for him.
“Oh I think he would love that” Myrcella said, “That’s such a sweet idea” Myrcella was so glad they could work Tommen into the whole thing. She knew her mum would fly over with him but she had to admit a large part of her wanted Joffrey to be busy, Tommen had told her their older brother had already started hinting that he wasn’t going to be around but with Joffrey you never knew if he was just lying.
Jeremy smiled as they reached The Matterhorn and got in line, “I figured maybe I could Skype him to ask him.” Jeremy and Tommen texted every now and then and followed each other on their various social media accounts, but Jeremy figured that something like this had to be asked kind of in person. “Do you think Joffrey would get upset?” Not that Jeremy really cared cause Myrcella’s older brother had never really made any attempt to get to know him. In some ways Joffrey reminded Jeremy of Damon.
“He’d like that” Myrcella said, she was very glad her brother and Jeremy got along so well. Of all her family members Myrcella missed Tommen the most, it had always been the two of them getting up to all sorts of things when they were younger. Mostly avoiding Joffrey. “Maybe, if we get really lucky he’ll use it as an excuse not to come to the wedding” she said hopefully, there was no love lost between them. Myrcella knew Joffrey was a cruel person with little disregard for others. It was a shame but it was the way of it.
“Do you think we’ll get that lucky?” Jeremy wondered if their mother would still try to make Joffrey go even if he didn’t want to. Then again, Joffrey was older than they were so it wasn’t as if he could really be forced to go if he really didn’t want to. “Have you asked anyone yet to be your Bridesmaids?” Jeremy knew that Myrcella had a close group of friends, but he didn’t know if she was planning on asking all of them or only some of them to be in the wedding. So far Jeremy had asked Tyler to be his Best Man and aside from Tommen, he was probably going to also ask Stefan to be a Groomsman.
“We might, apparently he’s been pushing back more and more lately according to Tommen” Myrcella said, it would be amazing if he did stay home. “Not yet, I was thinking of having a girls night and asking them then” Myrcella knew that Anna and Cel would be very excited to be involved and she’d already given Izzy and Audrey the heads up about maybe catering for them.
“Well, whether he comes or not, we’re not gonna let him put a damper on our day.” Jeremy squeezed Myrcella’s hand as they moved forward in the line. Whatever happened, Joffrey was not going to do anything to ruin their wedding. “That’s a good idea. If you wanna do it at the house, just let me know and I’ll make myself scarce for the night.” He could probably make plans with Tyler that night if Myrcella wanted a night alone with her friends.
“Never” she agreed with a smile, leaning into him as they stepped forward. There was no way anybody was ruining their wedding, she wouldn’t let it happen. Myrcella smiled, “You are the best” she told him, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. It was incredible how easy everything was between them, sometimes Myrcella couldn’t believe her luck that she’d found someone so perfect for her. But they fit well and even moving in together had been smooth and relaxed, neither of them had habits the other couldn’t stand.
Jeremy smiled and kissed her back, “Just let me know when you want to do it,” At times Jeremy still couldn’t quite believe that they were planning a wedding. Planning a wedding always seemed like such a grownup thing to do and sometimes Jeremy still didn’t really feel like a grownup despite the fact that in a way he’d had to grow up quickly after his parents were killed, “Look how grown up we are. Planning a wedding and everything.” He smirked at Myrcella as they got close to the front of the line.
“I’ll send them a message soon and let you know” she promised. It really was crazy, especially when he said it out loud like that. She grinned, “Weird right? I don’t feel grown up most of the time but then maybe most grown ups don’t, it just kind of creeps up on everybody” But they had definitely grown together in the past few years and that was nice. That shared connection was something she treasured.
“I especially don’t feel grown up here,” Jeremy smiled and glance around, indicating the theme park they were currently in. However, if anyone had grown up, it was Jeremy even if he didn’t feel like it. When they had first met, he was rebelling against his parents, drinking, doing drugs and skipping school and then when they had died other factors took a toll on his mental health, Jeremy had rebelled even more, but thankfully he’d had Myrcella to anchor him make him want to be better. Sure, he’d drink with his friends and still got high on occasion, but it was nothing like he had before.
“You’re not supposed to feel grown up here” Myrcella told him with a smile. She was so very proud of Jeremy, he’d been through so much but he’d come out of it all stronger and focused. He was a good man and she was so happy to be with him. “Today is about having relaxing and having fun”
“Then it sounds like we’re on the right track,” Jeremy smiled as they stepped up to be next in line. Had it not been for Myrcella, Jeremy didn’t know if he ever would have wanted to pull himself out of the funk he’d once been in. “Because going on a rollercoaster is the best way to relax, right?” He smirked at her as the cast member asked how many were in their party.
Myrcella laughed, “What better way is there?” she grinned before Jeremy answered the cast member and they stepped up to the barrier to await the arrival of their ride car.
