"I know," he said - lying. He didn't know. There were a few who stuck around but most left eventually. He'd do something bad and drive them away. They wouldn't try to figure out what was in his head, or his heart. Elena had done that in the dreams. She had - then she let him go. That dream had hurt them here, even though he shouldn't let it, like how he had killed Jeremy shouldn't affect them here, but it was hard not to take that as the ultimate insult.
