Who: Katou and Anna When: Late June Where: Anna’s place What: Watching her show Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete when posted!
It had been too long since Katou’d had a chance to harass Anna, and when she’d invited him over to watch her show, he’d jumped at the chance. If he were honest, he’d already watched what had aired so far when he’d been keeping to himself in his house, but there’s no way he’d ever admit that to anyone, especially not Anna. Much like he’d never admitted that he’d gone to go see her movie, in theatres, on more than one occasion.
He banged on her door with his metal fist, a case of beer in his other hand, and then took to ringing the doorbell repeatedly until the door was answered.
Thankfully, no one else was home at the moment. Otherwise the incessant knocking and doorbell ringing might have pissed someone off. (Maybe. Stefan and Lexi were pretty understanding people. Vampires. Whatever.) Anna gave a little sigh of frustration as she came out of her bedroom and jogged to the front door. “I’m coming! I’m coming!” She called out. “Hold your donkeys!”
Then she pulled open the door and raised both eyebrows at Katou. “Did you really need to ring it so many times? You’re waking the dead, here.” There was absolutely a grin on her face, though, as she tried to cover it. “Come in.”
“I didn’t need to,” Katou said, walking into the house. “I wanted to. Seemed like the right thing to do. You know, make sure you heard I was out there and all.” He grinned at her. It really was nice to see the little red head. Well, to see her sober. He was pretty sure he recalled her coming over once when he’d been on the junk. “How the hell have you been, Girlie?”
Anna stepped to the side and let him, in, then she closed the door behind him gently. “Good! I can’t believe you haven’t even seen the show. I have like, four episodes to show you. I hope you have a few hours to stay.” She had root beer and ice cream, too, to make floats. And she had popcorn. Because she was Anna. “There are snacks in the kitchen.”
“Yeah, normally when I watch TV I reserve it for something actually good,” he said, grinning cheekily at her. “But it ain’t like I’ve got nothing better to do today. I can hang out for a couple hours.” He made his way to the kitchen, opening the fridge door as if it were his own. “You got any beer?”
There were all kinds of things in the fridge at Anna’s place. Beer in the door, hard liquor in the freezer, blood bags in the crisper drawer. Anna did her best to make sure the beer wasn’t obvious when Wash came over, but it was really good for Stefan and Lexi to have. Anna didn’t really care what Katou drank, either.
“Yeah, there’s some in there, I think. Grab me a cider?” She called rom the living room. “And some chips, or something?” She was busy queueing up the DVR to the first episode of her show. It was really easy to skip commercials, too, so they could get through quite a few episodes in a couple of hours.
“What am I, your slave?” Katou grumbled, though he grabbed the cider along with his beer, and went rummaging through the shelves for a bag of chips. It didn’t take him long to find them, and he made his way to the living room. “Heads,” he called, gently lobbing the can of cider at Anna.
Anna looked up. Thankfully, her reflexes were just good enough to dodge out of the can’s way as it sailed past her head. ...and into the cushion of the couch behind her. She frowned. “It’s gonna explode now when I try to open it, isn’t it?”
“Who’s fault is that?” Katou asked, raising an eyebrow and throwing himself into the seat next to her. “You were supposed to catch that. Anyway, it ain’t like I shaked it up before I brought it out here. It’ll probably be fine.”
“Pssh.” Anna sat down on the sofa again and held the can gingerly between her hands. She gently tapped the top a few times, then pulled the tab just enough for some of the air to escape. It made a fizzing sound, and she brought the thing to her lips quickly, so it wouldn’t splatter all over.
Katou laid against the arm rest, propping his legs up over Anna’s lap and taking a gulp of his drink. “Alrighty, let’s get this over with,” he said, nodding toward the TV.
Anna grinned. She really did love her show. She grabbed the remote and pointed it at the television so they could watch.
