Stefan took a seat across from her, and folded his hands on the table. He wasn't as much interested in food as she probably was, so he would just order whatever she had for lunch. No need to look at the menu.
Thankfuly, it only took a moment for the waitress to take their order and then wander off, leaving them alone. Alone again.
Stefan brought his eyes to her face and waited while she spoke. It was hard when the Dreams came in big chunks, but Steven knew that Elena was strong and brave, and he thought she could handle it.
Sstefan took a deep breath and nodded. He remembered that time very, very well. "I'm so sorry." Was all he said. "It feels like... every time I Dream I'm caught between a rock and a hard place."
