Valkyrie had passed out from alcohol consumption, and she'd been wholly unprepared for the trauma of what she dreamt. Hela had become an enemy of Asgard, and Odin had sent the Valkyrie to stop her. However, they weren't prepared to go up against a goddess such as Hela. Every single Valkyrie was killed except for herself. She saw all of her sisters fall, including one who had sacrificed her life to save hers. The entire situation was traumatic on an epic scale. It was a war, and everyone on her side had been slaughtered by Hela. She'd thought that death would come to her then and there so she could join her sisters, but it was not to be. She survived, and the entire event scarred her for good.
She woke with a start and she bolted upright, momentarily not knowing where she was. All Valkyrie saw was a battlefield littered with the bodies of her sisters. Panic gripped her and she started hyperventilating as she quickly looked around, wondering where Hela was and if her death blow was coming. But the instant she blinked and moved, she saw her apartment and there was no threat to her life.
"Fuck," she cursed as she got out of bed. The bottle closest to her was empty. "Fuck it all," she cursed, looking at the bottle after picking it up, then she chucked it at the wall and it shattered. She headed off to her kitchen and managed to find a bottle of whiskey. Good, at least she had something that could take the edge off until she got to a bar. She downed the entire bottle in one breath, then went to find her boots and change her clothes before going out into public.
But she already knew that there wasn't enough alcohol in the world to drown out the images of the Valkyrie being slaughtered. There wasn't enough to drown out the memories of her family's bodies in this world, so there definitely couldn't be enough to drown out that battlefield. As she went to grab a clean shirt, her vision blurred with tears and she sunk to her knees as she couldn't help but to cry. This was not her idea of a good dream. And clearly she now knew why the Valkyrie didn't exist in Thor's time. Hela had killed them all, and that was the last straw. She couldn't handle Asgard anymore, and she knew she wouldn't be safe so long as Hela was there, so she left.
The thought of leaving this place crossed her mind, but there was one thing more important than running away, and that was drinking. She needed alcohol, and needed it now. Valkyrie needed to get blackout drunk now. After crying for a few minutes, Valkyrie managed to pick herself up and she changed her clothes, pulled her boots on, made herself presentable, then she headed off for the nearest bar. Chances were that she'd get kicked out after getting cut off by the bartender, but she didn't care. She'd figure out her next move after that once that happened. But for now, she'd just focus on drinking and trying to forget.
Because right now, she didn't want to remember anything.
