This power demanded a terrible and bloody price he’d never asked for, but one he was paying anyways. His life in Arizona wasn’t envious, but his life in those dream was a down right nightmare. He had wonderful memories of his mother here on Earth. He, didn’t need them pushed out by these nightly horror shows of watching an alien version of a person he’d known in real life, someone not even a tenth this cruel, beat her over and over. Or worse, turn his anger against him.
This was torture for something he never wanted in the first place. Something that was going to twist him into some kind of monster when he made it through all of it. If he made it that far.
“Sure,” was all he said in acknowledgement of what Rey said. The word sounded empty even to him, but he didn’t have an argument.
“I took you away from what you were doing back there. Sorry. I don’t have anymore questions.”
