"You..kay?"
Who: Ollie and Jubilee
What: Talking and biting and making new living arrangements.
When: A few days ago
Where: Jubilee's apartment
STatus: complete
Rating: PG-13 for glossed sexiness and bitingness.
Avoiding Ollie would only work for so long. For one, she missed him terribly. For another, it wasn't really fair to him. But she was afraid if she got too close to a person, like she had snuggled up to Rahne, she'd lose control of the slowly growing hunger inside of her.
She didn't want it to be like the dreams. Where kill was natural. So she holed up in her apartment.
Ollie had been doing a lot of things lately. He’d noticed Jubilee avoiding him, but he’d tried to chalk it up to other reasons than the weird stuff going around here, and had assumed, for whatever reason, she was irritated with something or other that he’d done. It had happened with women before, and he’d probably make it happen again. He didn’t intend to but...he couldn’t help it sometimes.
Instead, he’d thrown himself into the meetings for setting up Just Play and organizing the first scholarship/recommendation contest for a deserving couple of students, and a school, and getting in practice of his own. He could draw the bow he’d somehow found now, and was getting in the way of consistency somewhere around seventy percent of the time, and that was a good thing. Jubilee had always been on his mind though, or in the back of it, and when he’d seen her post, he’d known he had to do something, so he headed over to her place, stopping, first of all, to pick up flowers because she’d sounded like she could use something to make her feel better, then hit the buzzer as he came in.
Well, Ollie was more than capable of irritating her, but that wasn't really at issue here. And she felt guilty whenever she thought of Laura.
She flailed off the couch when the doorbell rang, and then eyed it suspiciously. When it seemed like the person wouldn't go away, she pulled on sunglasses and a big hat, and opened the door.
“Hey.” Ollie said, gesturing with the flowers. “Here to rub your feet and possibly more, depending on what works for you. But definitely the first and talking.” he said, quite serious, peering at her, “You mentioned pale, but this is...really pale.” he shook his head, looking concerned. “Dreams manifesting again. I don’t like it. Yours could really hurt you.”
"I'm not as bad as in the dreams," She pulled him in and closed the door, taking the flowers. When she removed the sunglasses her eyes seemed more red than brown. She tossed the hat onto a table and dragged him over to the couch, shoved him into it with more strength than she realized she had and straddled him.
She blinked at herself, then darted her eyes, "Hi. So you wanna talk?"
The eyes. Wow. Damn. That was about all Ollie could think, as he wondered about things like what would happen if she did have to end up going outside. “Quick question.” he said, giving her a kiss before the rest of this went on. “You gonna be okay to go out in the day or...” He was clearly worried here. “I can adjust to just about anything with lifestyle bits that way, but I don’t wanna drag you out and make you burn or anything.” And then, well, he kissed her again, because who wouldn’t take advantage of this position, huh? Serious talks, averted by sexy tiems? Well, maybe a little. His hands WERE on her waist and roaming.
"It hurts a bit, but if I bundle up I'm okay for now..." She ran her hands up up his chest then around his shoulders and leaned into him, "If it goes much further I'm dust without that amulet.."
She grunted, rocking her hips and shimmying a bit. Her senses were heightened and his touch wasn't helping!
Oh no? Well, he was just going to have to get things to a point where his touch COULD help her, a whole lot. “Then that could be a lot worse.” he said, a hand skirting up her shirt just now. “We can deal with the rest when it happens, yeah? Cause we’ll find a way.’ he promised, and then found a much better use for that mouth of his when it was wrapped even firmer around hers.
She could hear every pulse of blood through his veins, especially if she closed her eyes. She could smell it. His hands were so warm, especially with how cold she always was lately.
Jubilee groaned into the kiss, then nipped his lip, trying to not bite hard enough to draw blood. She'd stuffed herself full of smoothies and steaks and that had helped a little bit, but she didn't trust herself.
Ollie's presence and his touch, however, was driving her crazy.
Nipping hmm? Ollie shivered at that, clearly liking it a whole lot. And hey, if something happened? It would probably be okay. Not that he wanted her to end up needing blood or anything, but if she bit? It wouldn’t be a huge deal at all. He’d done worse to himself in terms of things that left blood, this week.
Hey, she didn’t mind losing whatever bra she had on, right? He was only praying it was the kind with snaps and not a sports one because that’d be harder to get off smoothly. He’d been getting bras off girls since he was about fourteen and still hadn’t figured out a graceful way to manipulate those.
Sex hadn't been on the agenda today, but it was like she'd opened the door and Ollie had managed to turn her on in every way possible.
Her own reflexes had been heightened but despite that she was braless before she realized what he was doing, "..dick..." There was a fond note in her voice as she kissed at his jawline, "Gaaaawd I missed you."
“You say that like you don’t enjoy it.” Ollie teased, “Missed you too. A whole lot.” He added, before finding a spot on her neck to suck, and only to suck. Somehow using teeth right then seemed sort of...not appropriate. It was different when you could make vampire jokes and have them not be true. But otherwise? Yeah. Hey, she still somehow tasted the same. that was a good sign.
Jubilee's eyes fluttered closed and she held his face against her neck. Somehow, the sensations were more there than they should normally be. Her nostrils flared, and she groaned his name.
She realized if they didn't "talk" before they talked she wouldn't be able to concentrate on words.
“Yeah?” Oliver reluctantly forced himself to stop for now. And was it just him, or did she feel a little cooler than usual? The air in here didn’t seem to be that chilly. It was sort of worrying him. But for now, they probably should...
“I’m sorry, you’re right. you did mention talking too. I shouldn’t get that carried away yet.”
"Damn it, I want you to get carried away, Ollie." Jubilee's voice was a low, gutteral growl as she ripped open his shirt so that his chest would be as exposed as hers.
She froze, "Oh em gee...!"
“Hmm?” Ollie asked her, pausing to glance at her. “Something go wrong? I...your blood isn’t stopping flowing or anything is it?” Because what could have brought that on? She looked...like something was really wrong.
Jubilee held up the tattered remains of Ollie’s shirt, “Uhm. I kinda don’t know my own strength.”
“OH. Oh.” Ollie said as he glanced down at the shirt. “Okay, that could kinda be a problem. Not with shirts though.” Grin. “With those, it’s kind of fun.” he admitted, eyedarting a little. And hey, it wasn’t like he’d worn anything sentimental over. Not that he’d really care if it happened, but it just added to the school of being more impressed than anything. “That’s kind of amazing actually. You’re probably stronger than me right now. Amazing considering nobody’d expect that, you know?”
Of course he'd be turned on by it. Hey. She could take advantage of that. Sure, she couldn't phase his clothing off like Kit-Kat, but..actually if she ripped it off he'd have to go home naked.
Okay maybe that would be funny. She pondered that, while responding, "I can like..bench press cars without even thinking about it. Not here. Not yet. If I can do that here I'm probably in need of staking."
“That could be a problem. Or it could be a good thing.” Ollie said, thinking it out. “I mean, if you consider Stark’s little group of people...the strength thing could probably help out a lot with something like that. Or you know, rescue work. I can see it with potentials here. And if not, well, hey, THIS kind of thing is a lot of fun.”
That? Was accompanied with a little bit of a leer. Because yeah. Ollie Queen and all. And he was okay with going home mostly naked. Wasn’t the weirdest way he’d ever wound up naked before after all, and this time, since it would be for sexy reasons, would make it a favorite memory of being naked in semi public. Or something.
"Only if I could rescue people at night without sucking them to death," Jubilee pointed out. She licked her lips, wondering what Ollie would taste like. Rahne had tasted...tangy and pure.
She slipped off his lap, and tore his belt off, followed by his pants. Then she pulled down her own pants and underwear, and planted her hands on her hips, drinking him in with her eyes.
Oh yeah. Confusion about Laura aside, she still liked them hard and pointy.
“If I can shoot people at night, I think you can definitely do rescues.” Ollie agreed, nodding at that. “I need to work out something to make my eyes better in the dark, maybe some kind of lenses instead of the mask that came with the other pieces. Maybe I can show you sometime.” He added, licking his lips. “I bet that costume would look good on the floor here.”
Not as good as the shards of what he’d been wearing and how they looked here, but hey. Not thinking about that right now really. There were other things to take care of, and they were distracting.
"I'll bet it would." Jubilee never really had a costume. Sure there had been various X-uniforms and she usually had her coat over it...
God she missed that yellow coat.
"I want to see some time, baby cakes." Jubilee flashed him a grin, her teeth a bit sharper than they really should have bin, before sitting on the couch next to him and reaching out to caress his body with her hands.
“I’ll climb in through your window with it.” Ollie promised her, nodding, and grinning back before he dove in himself, not just caressing now. “Really it’s kind of a warped version of my regular archery costu...That makes me sound insane.” he admitted, laughing. “Maybe we can roleplay. I’m Robin Hood and you’re my sexy kidnapper or Marian or something.” Hee. “Sherwood Forest Tree Sex.”
"Mmm...." Jubilee pulled Ollie on top of her and kissed him, as if she were saying 'yes' to all of the above but also 'shut up and make love to me.'
Shut up and make love to her, huh? He could definitely oblige with that one. That one, amazing, really awesome one. Best part of the visit, he decided, while he could still think, and after that...
Her body sang through out the love-making, and as her body crested beneath his, she sunk her teeth into his neck instinctively. Ollie tasted like salt and sea.
Had she just... Hey! Ollie perked up at that one, actually. The biting? Yeah, he was programmed to be into that sort of thing. It didn’t even occur to him right now that there could be any problems associated with it. He just knew he liked it, and wow, there were some DEFINITE advantages to dating a vampire, or someone becoming one. At least when it came to sex because holy SHIT.
He didn’t even really have a way to improve on that, but he was sure going to try, he decided. It was like some kind of sexy competition now. He was into that.
Jubilee had more control this time. Or maybe the sex was distracting her, but she stopped herself quickly and clung to him, raking her nails down his shoulders and back. God, was it into it?
That just turned her on more!
Best sex ever, well, so far anyway, Ollie decided as he felt those nails dig in. “Damn...” He muttered, sounding seriously impressed. They needed to have done this more often. For the moment though? He was just going to focus on the now, and shifting a little more so...That was AMAZING right there, yeah.
That? Jubilee lost it completely, eyes flashing, body spasming, until she couldn’t feel anything below her thighs. She groaned deliriously, spent.
Ollie took a sec to get his breath, or okay, quite a few seconds actually, and then smirked at Jubilee, completely too spent himself to do much other than that. He wasn’t sure exactly what to say anyway. because uh...yeah. Words didn’t really do it. That was okay though, right?
"You..kay?" She asked, panting and checking his neck with her fingers to make sure he wasn't bleeding out, "No bleedy to death capiche? Totes not cool."
“Okay?” Ollie asked her, and the smirk became a grin. “I could say that. Or a whole lot of others.” Idly, he poked the bitten spot, and shuddered pleasantly at the memory. “I can do that.” he agreed. “If we do this again, of course.”
"Not for awhile," She cautioned him. "You have to recover." She was going to have to have multiple sources. She licked her lips. It wasn't so strong that she needed it that often, but that might change. She needed a blood bank or something!
"I'm scared, Ollie. Of myself."
“You mean of what might happen?” Ollie nodded at her slowly. “I...that’s actually sort of what I should have been trying to be supportive about this whole time instead of the detour.” He said, ducking his head a little. He wasn’t totally going to apologize, but well, there WAS that to think about, wasn’t there?
“You know...” he said, glancing at her. “I don’t know how it works for whatever universe it’s coming from but... I know in the vampire hunter show, the vampires drank cow blood when they couldn’t get human. I...if that’s a thing that might work for you, I bet we could find a factory. Or just ask around the farmer’s markets. Say it’s for a recipe. Lots of cultures do that. There’s this blood soup with...duck or rabbit brain or something, so people would believe with cow...”
"And what happened already. Yeah. And what happens when I can't go out into the sun. Or when I can lift a friggin car." Jubilee trailed off, making a face, "God that sounds disgusting, but ....I don't have a guy with a healin' factor to suck on."
“Well, hey. Maybe we can find one.” Ollie suggested. “I mean...weird shit happening to lots of people, you know? And yeah, it uh...looked it at the time.” He didn’t even really want to think about that. That had been the one food experience he had not joined in on. “When you can lift a friggin car, we should probably be able to use that to our advantage, even if that’s just to keep you safe if something happens to you. And the sun part...yeah that’d suck. “ Ollie considered the options there.
“...You know how the popemobile has that glass box he sits in first. Maybe a moveable version of that and shaded...” He suggested, eyedarting.
"Popemobile. Vampire. Think about that for a second," Jubilee said, side-eyeing him.
“Van Helsing and Friar Carl?” Oliver frowned a bit. “Okay, if the church does have holy warriors employed, that might be a problem. But I don’t think they really go for that anymore. I mean, presumably, they have better things to do now that it’s not the middle ages.”
"Well I meant the popemobile would probably make me burst into flames," Jubilee replied, laughing. She hugged onto him, rubbing her body against his with a groan. "I'm not worried about hunters and crap."
“Well, okay, obviously not holy glass or anything.” Ollie eyedarted. “I don’t think you can get in trouble for copying the idea. I mean, if you think about it, we could even just say we’re copying those booths at Chuck E Cheese where the kids grab the tickets. Same idea. Just a cube with whatever they insulate sunglasses with to protect you.”
Gnawing on his shoulder, she said, "Maybe easier to just paint over the windows of my car black. But how do I see out?"
This was crazy. She couldn't believe they were talking about this. Or that he had had that idea. But he was rich.
Jubilee was suddenly embarrassed at how poor she was compared to him, even with her winnings and endorsements. She hadn't been able to really apartment shop.
Ollie’s ideas were all relatively insane. It wasn’t even really a rich thing, because other rich people, like Tony, for instance, may have had ridiculously awesome stuff, but it all made sense on some level somewhere along the way. Ollie though? Not so much in the practicality department. He’d maybe been dropped on his head as a child. Or had some kind of long term exposure damage from the island. It was hard to say.
“And we’d have to make sure we could run you up to doors.” He agreed, thoughtfully. “I guess the point is....there’s all kinds of stuff we can try for that. And, hey, once you know where you’re gonna be hanging out after you’re done here...we can probably make some modifications, Unless you just wanted to move in at mine. I don’t know, is that too committed at this point? Cause I’m not trying to be like, mental institution or anything. But it might be nice.”
"Or maybe I'll just become nocturnal. Find a job working a club or something," Jubilee replied. Then she realized why she'd said club. Easy access prey. She eyedarted.
Then her brain crashed to a halt, the train derailing and going over the cliff, exploding and sending toxic waste throughout a small sleepy town.
That about describes the look that was currently on her face when he'd suggested she move in with him.
“That could actually be helpful.” Ollie started to agree. “I mean, lots of people, so you could probably find some who’d be okay with the whole blood thi...” And then he really got a look at her face. “I don’t mean...I mean it’s a suggestion. It doesn’t have to be a thing...It...wouldn’t change anything or...Look all I know for sure right now about this is I love you. And that’s the part that matters. Whatever else...details, right? Whatever details you want to go with for this? it’s OKAY.”
Jubilee was still trying to process this. Ollie could be a bit of a mess sometimes, but she loved him for it. Living with him would mean easier access to ripping his pants off.
It would also mean that she could live in a nice place. It was scary. Real scary.
So she was surprised when she said, "Yeah okay. I'll do it."
And hey, he would probably be less of a mess with someone else around, was the good thing. Okay, so she might have to deal with the occasional panicked cooking binge when something bad happened in their lives, but that was small worries, right? And it wasn’t like it was a drunken or stoned cooking binge either. He only really drank in public at events, since it wasn’t any fun to drink alone, and he didn’t really approve of drugs in general.
So, if she could live with the smell of occasionally burning melt your tastebuds off chili, everything else would be okay.
“Yeah?” Ollie’s face split into a huge grin. “That’s amazing.”
They could probably stash the bodies in the chili. Right? Right.
Jubilee kissed him again, long and slow and hard. She was lucky. As terrible as his reputation was, she knew better. He was a good guy, "I love you, Ollie."
He hadn’t always been, that was for sure, but he was trying now. The reputation probably could be something of the past in a few years if he kept things up like that. “Love you too.” he said, tugging an arm around her. And he forgot that the living together thing was supposed to be terrifying for guys, cause honestly? He was more excited than anything. And it wasn’t cause of the sex.
"No kids," Jubilee added, as an afterthought, as she snuggled in on top of him.
“No kids.” Oliver agreed, shaking his head. “I don’t wanna do that again. “ It had been hard enough already, and Roy had never exactly been in diapers. “Besides” he added, laughing. “I don’t want to let Roy corrupt them then tell them he picked it up from me. I mean, way too much blackmail to be effective, right?”
Assuming vampires could even HAVE kids. Jubilee wasn't sure, and she didn't want to really find out right now. Kids had been a 'some day' sort of thing, far far off in the distant future for the twenty year old. Having that choice taken away would...hurt.
"It would be hard to pick just what to use, yo!"
“I know, right?” Ollie shook his head ruefully. “Plus, we’d have to convert the dungeon into one of their rooms.” He added, trying to keep a straight face, just to see what Jubilee would say. But that failed as he burst out laughing as he finished saying it. “I mean...” Snort. “Then where would we spend...” Snicker. “Our time?”
"I hope you're serious 'bout that dungeon, dude." Jubilee nuzzled his jaw and started to giggle uncontrollably.
Ollie laughed too, and nuzzled back. “Well, maybe.” he allowed, grinning at her. “Okay, so we might want to put that in the house and save it for when I have to be in San Fran but...” His parents? Were spinning in their graves right now. Or his mother was turning to his father, sighing and saying that she’d told him so. Either way.
"I just need to figure out how to get out of the lease on this apartment," Jubilee said, pondering aloud. She sat back, still straddling him, and peered around it. And the mess that was generally how she kept her living quarters.
"...do you have like..maids and shit?"
“Nope. Just me and not a lot else.” Ollie said. “I don’t really do a lot there to mess the place up. Well, okay, the kitchen is usually a little uh... “ He didn’t really have a word other than “full”. But besides that it’s kind of big enough to spread stuff out, or hide it in closets. Sometimes I get people to come in. You know, when it gets a little TOO much. And hey, let’s see leasewise...sublet maybe?”
"I'm kind of a natural disaster when it comes to cleanliness," Jubilee pointed out, her pale skin darkening a bit. "I could probably just pay like an extra month and they'll let me out of it."
“Well, we’ll find somebody to handle stuff like that then.” Ollie told her, grinning. “And really, you’re kinda cramped in here so that’s probably why. Sort of like college and me back during the ‘I’m going to prove to you how much I’m not caring about what you want me to do, dad’ phase. ...Even if I did give him a stroke that made him have to take me back.” he added, eyedarting.
Jubilee found this harder to admit than she was generally happy with, "I was dirt poor before I got the golds."
She was almost ashamed of it, really. She still didn't know what to do with her winnings and her endorsement deals, except put most of it away for when things dried up. She was considering a new car though. And she'd splurged on several thousand dollars worth of clothing and jewellry, but that was besides the point.
"You gave your dad a stroke?"
“Hey, it happens.” Ollie said, nodding at her. “I won’t say money doesn’t make a difference because it helps a lot but in terms of the stuff that’s important on the big levels, well, after being able to have a place to live, and food...it doesn’t matter in terms of what people think about you or your own worth or anything. Yeah...” He admitted, glancing downward.
“I kind of...uh...The company. I was doing some digging because I’d learned how to for a class. Figured out some really ugly stuff was happening. Kind of left an anonymous tip about what I’d learned with one of the professors. Who was writing for the Times. Obviously it was more important people know, and the company get shamed into fixing it but...” He shook his head and frowned. “Kind of sparked off the stroke he had a couple weeks after the story hit. It was worth it, it’s still worth it but...” He shrugged a little. “Still feels kind of icky”
"I know. It's kinda nice not to have to struggle. I get what Kit Kat meant when she told me her shoulders felt lighter after her big payday. Money can't buy happiness but it sure as hell makes it easier."
She frowned, "Did he get better?"
“Didn’t exactly...well, he lived and recovered and was around another eight years retired.” Ollie answered her. “Not all the way since he couldn’t exactly go back to work, which meant I kind of...shifted in. We did fix what was wrong though.” He said, tiny smile crossing his face. “If I did anything decent in my life before the last several months, it was making sure of where our diamonds came from and that they weren’t funding anything like they’d been before. And I mean, at least he didn’t know.”
That? Would have been really bad. Their relationship, besides the burst of ‘I’m going to major in what I want to major in, fuck you’ had been decent, if a little distant. “I mean...the means still justify the ends but...it’s still kind of crappy sometimes when I think about it.” It wasn’t the kind of crushing guilt he felt when it came to other stuff at least though, so there was that.
"That's good." She was glad about that. The guilt would probably have been even more horrible. "You're doing a good thing, Ollie. I'm sure he's proud of you."
“Well, I’m not sure now since I’m out of the game.” Oliver admitted, eyedarting. “But really, it all could have been a lot more ugly. So there’s that. “ And it wasn’t anything small, he knew that. “And hey, I’m finally not a screw up so...” He grinned. “It’s a good thing.”
"You know what else you're not a screw up in?" Jubilee bounced to her feet, yanking Ollie with her and picking him up like he was a damsel. She couldn't lift a car, but she could lift him!
"Bed?"
“You’re right. I’m definitely top of my game THERE....” Ollie started, then he blinked from where he was looking down at her. “Oh wow. Threshold carries?” He winked at her a little. “Bed.”
"Don't worry honey, I'll only break you a little." And with that, Jubilee carried him to the bedroom.
