Weiss darling, would you like some help?
Who: Weiss and Elsa What: Vorpal Bunnies When: 4/1 Where: Weiss's place Rating: PG-13 Status: Complete
Weiss’s house was in a word gigantic. The Arendelle household wasn’t exactly small either, but it felt smaller. It was just Elsa living in it (alone, with the ghosts of her parents and all the years lost with her sister) and she hadn’t exactly done more than take all the dust covers off, but it still felt smaller than this place.
Weiss had mentioned something about killer rabbits, but the only strange thing Elsa had noticed was that the taxi had been filled with peeps.
Lots of peeps. Purple peeps and yellow ones, and a blue one that the taxi driver had treated like some kind of parrot.
But no killer bunnies.
That didn’t mean there weren’t any, so Elsa rang the bell.
Thankfully there were no peeps to greet Elsa at the door. Weiss avoided too many artificially sweet things. She preferred to spend her empty calories on fancy coffee beverages or ice cream. Perhaps the occasional chocolate binge.
There to greet Elsa instead was Weiss, in a bathing suit, her wet hair somehow perfect instead of the rat's nest most people's wet hair tended to become. There was barely anything about her appearance to show that her morning had gone wrong, except for the sword in her hand and the bleeding scratch along the outside of one arm.
Well, and the fact she was panting for breath. "Thank god. You have powers, don't you? My glyphs just simply aren't working yet and this dust can only do so much. I have them barricaded in my pool area but I’m certain they’ll find a way to break through into the house if we aren’t quick."
A chocolate binge was one way to get Elsa's attention. She did love the taste and smell of chocolate, and anything related to it.
Nothing Weiss said registered at first. Between the panting and the ... the swimsuit and the wet skin, Elsa needed a moment. "I uhm."
She waved her hands, and in a glittery display, all the water froze and came off of Weiss and out of her hair. Elsa flicked her wrist, sending the ice to the side as she remembered what cold could do to a human body. Ahem.
Ignoring that, Elsa focused instead on the cut. "You're bleeding!"
One way to get Weiss's attention was to make a display of glittering things. Especially when those glittering bits of ice had previously been the water she'd been covered in. She blinked her eyes a few times at Elsa, who was currently surrounded by a halo of sparkling light, and then darted her eyes back and forth.
Her hair was dry. It needed immediate attention, but unfortunately there were killer rabbits in her outdoor living space. She hoped Elsa didn't notice how awful she probably looked. Weiss put her sword down on the counter with a noticeable amount of care, and then reached her hands up and twirled it all into a bun. "There. That takes care of that," she said, before registering Elsa's distress.
"What, this? Oh, that's... nothing. It isn't very deep. It probably won't even scar." Weiss had one on her face that was visible now that there was no makeup to hide it. She probably knew what she was talking about. "We should commence with creating some form of battle plan. My dream world self is... I admit... more skilled with this weapon than I am."
Weiss looked fine, as far as Elsa was concerned. Beautiful even. She noticed the eye scar for the first time and was curious, but kept any questions to herself. Instead, she couldn't help but make a wry comment, "Should I change? I feel overdressed."
Complete with sexy-eyebrow-quirk.
"I'm probably underdressed for this encounter, which wouldn't be a problem if my aura was working." Weiss replied, pouting a bit. The fact that that blonde buffoon had beaten her to something so simple as getting his aura made her blood boil. Elsa could be trusted with this knowledge, since she wasn't going to go spreading it around. "I don't know what else you'd wear, though. You might fit into something of mine, but there are some key differences in the way we wear things."
By which Weiss meant that Elsa would stretch out the chest area of all of her tops.
Elsa chuckled. A part of her wanted to be daring and use her magic to turn her clothing into that two-piece swimsuit she liked, but this was serious (and honestly why did that thought even cross her mind). Instead, she drew her hand down her body, and in a wave of sparkles her skirt was replaced with a pair of trousers. "If we survive this, maybe we can go swimming."
"IF we survive this?!" Weiss's eyes widened a bit, all of her awe at Elsa's powers melting away in the wake of their possible impending doom. She picked her weapon back up and set the dust to fire. They already had the power of frost at their disposal. "Death is not an option. My life is barely beginning! And I refuse to die before I even get my aura. That blonde haired buffoon has already surpassed me and I'm not going to allow him to gain any more ground."
That was decided, and she pointed through the foyer and towards the long set of french doors lining the living area that lead to the pool. "Take care. One of them already beheaded a shrubbery."
"With an attitude like that, we'll be just fine." Elsa followed Weiss, then looked at her hand. She made a fist, frost and ice crackling and growing from her hand, until a passable imitation of Myrtenaster had formed in her hand. Sure, she had no idea how to use it, but it couldn’t be that hard right?
“Beheaded a…?” Elsa’s question was answered as she saw that the backyard had trimmed bushes in various shapes, and one of them was a now headless mermaid. “Oh.”
As if sensing their arrival, one of the rabbits hissed.
"Yes, I do in fact have ridiculously sculpted shrubbery," Weiss admitted, while making her way out to the patio. The icy copy of her own weapon was beautifully done and Weiss decided that it was definitely passable, though whether it would be effective was another thing entirely.
She glared at the hissing rabbit, and pointed at it with her sword. "THAT one dies first. Should we freeze over the swimming pool to make this easier? And by us, I mean you. I don't have enough dust to do it myself."
The other rabbit had taken up residence underneath the outdoor bar, and though it couldn't be seen Weiss remembered watching it scurry over before she'd slammed the doors shut in the kitchen. She motioned at it, "The second one is under there somewhere."
“It’s kind of cute?” Elsa had an expression on her face, that was a little bit of a cringe. It was cute, but it was also kind of over the top. She nodded, edging around the rabbit and tapping her foot on the ground. Ice spread to the pool and froze it over. This at least was easy to focus on, rather than the fact that she really just wanted to stare at Weiss all day.
“I could try to flush it out.”
"I admittedly thought they were adorable when they first hatched. Until, of course, they tried to murder me. Once a rabbit tries to murder you it is no longer cute," Weiss said, firmly. It was hard for even the local rich ice queen to harden her heart enough to kill an adorable bunny, but in this case they had no choice.
She darted a foot out to tap on the ice, which felt quite solid enough to step on, then carefully stepped onto it the rest of the way. "If we can get them closer, I can use the fire dust in my weapon to set them on fire. Theoretically. Mainly I don't want to set the rest of these bushes on fire."
“I don’t know, I think you’d still be cute if you tried to murder me.” Elsa stepped onto the ice like she wasn’t wearing heels and had no fear of slipping and breaking her ankle, or her neck. If anything, she picked up speed.
Waving her left hand, Elsa created a wall to block off the most obvious escape route. It began to encroach on the rabbits. “Ready? I’ll speed it up.”
Weiss made sure her dust was still set to fire, then took a fighting stance similar to one she always took in her dreams, and tried to look confident. And feel confident. She fixed her stance a bit, and then nodded her head.
The wall started to shift, growing longer and then sliding along the ground towards the location of the rabbits. As they darted away from the wall, Elsa called up another behind them, guiding them right towards the waiting Weiss with a flourish. “You’ve got this!”
"I certainly hope I do," Weiss muttered to herself. In her dreams she'd fought an armored boar the first day of class, these rabbits couldn't be as hard as that, could they? One thing was certain, she was never going to consider a bunny 'harmless' ever again. Perhaps that was for the best. There were plenty of adorable and underestimated things in the world that could actually kill you.
One of the rabbits hissed and backed up against the ice as it pushed ever closer to Weiss, while the other one got ready to attack. Weiss closed her eyes for a few seconds and then slid her hand along the edge of her blade, creating an arc of flame that spun out in front of her and singed the thing's face.
It was a very unpleasant smell. She tried not to think about that as she lunged in to stab the creature, only to miss and ram her sword into the ice. Weiss reached down to pull it out, still trying not to panic as the two bunnies started to creep up on her.
Weiss was one of those adorable and underestimated things that could harm you, or at least Elsa thought so when Wiess toasted the rabbit. And then when Weiss got her sword stuck, as that fell under the whole adorable thing. “Weiss darling, would you like some help?”
Panic was starting to crawl in under Weiss's perfectly manicured mask of calm as the bunnies closed in even further. She was going to die. She was going to die to a couple of tiny animals. That was utterly ridiculous. She was a Schnee for God's sake. What would Winter think if she ever found out?!
Weiss glanced up at Elsa and shouted, "I'm FINE" at her, just as a rabbit leapt through the air and threatened to take her head clean off.
And that's when it happened. Her blade flew out of the ice in her hand, arcing up to block the attack as if she'd done that every day in her real life for years. There was a gigantic flash of light and the bunny went flying off to the side, as if repelled by some kind of force.
The light rippled around Weiss like some sort of barrier before disappearing. In its wake, the bleeding cut on her arm disappeared. Weiss used a glyph to propel herself across the rest of the ice to quickly impale the other rabbit, then rested on her sword and took a deep breath.
Elsa stared, enraptured by Weiss’s grace. It looked like the other woman operated purely on instinct, but she could tell there was a lot more to it. Like Elsa, Weiss just needed experience. But unlike Elsa, Weiss was kind of a glass cannon. The other bunny charged towards Weiss, until Elsa turned it into a bunnycicle.
She felt really, really bad though, as she rushed over, “Are you all right? That was amazing, what was that?”
"That..." Weiss panted, "Was my aura. And it's about time, really."
Hopefully using her semblance became less exhausting over time. It had for her in the dreams, so that was something to look forward to here in the real world. At the moment, though, what she wanted was a snack, and a nap. "Are they taken care of, now?"
“You’re officially rabbit free,” Elsa said, gently taking Weiss’s hand to help her stand. “But I can’t speak for any peeps.”
Weiss took the offered hand and wiped some sweat off of her face. At that moment Elsa looked even more blurry and sparkly than ever, and it was hard not to be dazzled. "Whatever shall we do with our time now?"
Naps were still on the list, but if Elsa wanted to stay around, Weiss thought she could find a way to feel revived enough without one.
Elsa opened her mouth, then closed it and smiled, "You look like you could use a nap, or we could put on some music and talk."
Though chances were they'd end up falling asleep together on a couch.
