Things had been going pretty well for Jeremy as of late. He was doing well in his classes, he was doing well at work and he hadn’t had any new dreams in awhile. Then again, as of his last one he’d left Mystic Falls again, this time with Tyler in tow. So as far as the dreams went, Jeremy wasn’t sure if there would be more or not. Elena was in a magical coma, so there really was no reason to go back aside from possibly going back to see Ric. If he were completely honest with himself, he would have been just fine if his dreams were over. He couldn’t say that he wished he had never started dreaming, because the dreams had, not only, turned him into a Medium, but also a Hunter. He was stronger and his reflexes quicker as a result of the dreams so there were a few pluses.
Aside from school, work and dream stuff, he and Myrcella had started talking wedding planning. They still weren’t sure exactly when they were going to get married, but they had started thinking about their wedding party and he knew Myrcella was looking at Bridal magazines for dress ideas, but other than that they were mostly undecided on the other details.
He was planning on asking Tyler to be his Best Man and, at that moment, was writing his friend a text, asking if they could meet up soon when he spotted someone very familiar walking across campus. Closing his texts without finishing the text, Jeremy slipped his phone into his pocket, “Elena!” Adjusting his bag on his shoulder, he started walking towards his sister.
**
Hearing her name Elena paused, eyes scanning the area until she found a familiar face. Everything seemed to be going well with her brother and for that Elena was grateful. Losing their parents had been difficult. And just being there to support her brother was the most important thing.
Now that he’d found Myrcella and they seemed to be really happy together, what more could she do, really? But she was there for the long haul. Whatever Jeremy needed, Elena would provide.
“Hey Jer,” she greeted with a smile. “What’s up?”
**
“Hey,” Oddly enough, Jeremy and Elena didn’t see each other, on campus, as often as one might think so whenever Jeremy did see his sister, he made sure to talk to her if there was time. “Not much. Just waiting for my next class. What about you?” Most of the time Jeremy wished that he saw his sisters more often, but they were all busy now so it was hard to find time; especially with Katherine.
**
“The same, really.” With a schedule as busy as hers it seemed like Elena was forever running from class to class.
“How have you been?” Not that they didn’t text every few days or even have a quick call but that was usually just a quick status check or asking if the other needed something if the one was headed to do errands out of their normal path.
“We should have dinner sometime soon. It’s been awhile since we had a family meal.” And she missed him.
**
“Good,” Jeremy adjusted the strap of his bag on his shoulder again, “Myrcella and I have started trying to plan the wedding, but we’re still not sure when we want to do it.” Having dated for the last few years, Jeremy didn’t think being married would change much, but now that they were engaged, he was looking forward to being married. At the same time, they were still young and had time, “Dinner would be great. You should come over our place. We could barbeque or something.”
**
“Let me know what I can do to help,” Elena was quick to volunteer. “And if we can’t figure it out then I’m sure Caroline would be more than happy to offer her expertise.” She might even be offended if they didn’t ask her.
“But why don’t we have dinner or something this weekend. Sunday, maybe? We can grill out and start talking about what kind of wedding you want. Size, budget...that should help a bit.”
**
“That’s a good idea. I hadn’t actually thought to ask Caroline. I’ll mention that to Myrcella.” The thought of hiring a wedding planner had been a little daunting, but if it was someone they knew then there was less chance of that person trying to push things on them that they didn’t want.
“Sunday works for me. I’ll see if Myrcella has any clients coming in.” Since she worked from home, Jeremy wasn’t always sure of Myrcella’s schedule.
**
“Let me know if you want me to ask her. We’ve been spending a lot of time together.” Especially during the past few months. “I know she has a lot going on but you’re almost like a brother to her, too.” They’d all been close growing up.
“And yeah, let me know either way. It would be nice to see both of you.”
**
Jeremy nodded, “I’ll definitely let you know.” He was sure that Elena didn’t even know the half of what Caroline was going through. After what Tyler had said happened to her recently, he was pretty sure she was now a vampire and considering Elena wasn’t yet a dreamer, it was highly unlikely that she knew any of that.
“I’ll talk to Myrcella tonight and text you,” He was sure that if Myrcella had no clients, she would be thrilled to have Elena over.
**
“Good.” Elena leaned in, arms wrapping around her brother in a firm hug. “Because I miss you sometimes.” Only sometimes, though. And as she straightened, she caught sight of the time on her phone.
“And I have to run or I’ll be late. You, too, probably. I’ll talk to you later. And hopefully see you this weekend.”
**
Jeremy hugged his sister back, smiling, “I miss you too.” Even after not living together for a few years, it was still weird sometimes to not see each other every day. “I’ll text you tonight.” As Elena ran off to her next class, Jeremy took his phone out to continue the text he had been writing before he’d seen her.
